It's been by far the most common question, so I thought I'd have a stab at answering it myself!

Let's settle this: Which Bambu Lab 3D Printer is best for YOU?

🚀 Interested in 3D Printing but not sure which one to buy? This video will cover what features to consider and which to ignore, how different Bambu Lab printers will suit different personas, common myths and more. I already bought a P1S, and another P1S...... and another P1S.... but for this video, Bambu Lab kindly sent me an A1 to test, so I gave it the oddest test it's ever experienced.... !🌟 ⏱️ HIGHLIGHTS 00:00 - Introduction 01:53 - Bambu Lab - The Company 03:40 - Features - What Really Matters 10:03 - 3D Printing Personas 16:25 - Common Myths 18:06 - Summary ⚡ 3D PRINTERS MENTIONED AND USED (these are affiliate links, so I get a little too! Katie, having been a Prusa fan boy for a number of years (love the timeline of printer love) and recently falling in maker love with Bambu currently having 3 in the office I need to point out (in my opinion) a major miss…the A1 mini. Many scoff when I bring this little super low cost, though a bit smaller bed size, option…but in having an A1 mini, an A1, and an X1C, my A1 mini is more often than not my go to….performance to price point that little guy cannot be touched. Love your videos, great review perspective. 🥰. Cheers

Hey Chris, I think we're similar in timelines then like lots of folks!! I do think Prusa got distracted and lost their mojo a bit! Yes I'd considered the A1 mini (and indeed the P1P and the X1E!) - ultimately I just picked one from each of the A, P and X range for simplicity. I do think the A1 has a bunch of advantages over the mini that make it hard to argue the £100 difference? One of the biggest is the fact that 256x256 has become a bit of a standard size in 3d printing - so 9x9 Gridfinity grids fit this, lots of models are designed to fit and so on. The Mini is an immense ultra budget printer though - demolishes anything close to it and definitely has it's place, especially if you print smaller items all the time, then a great printer!

I agree 100% on all accounts. I still get a kick out of slicing a model in the Bambu slicer than slicing in Prusa slicer just to see how much more time it would have taken. (or if I really feel like a good chuckle, my Qidi Tech). ;-)). And I agree on the drawbacks to the Mini, and please I am not being critical of your brilliant video...but when someone comes to me and says they want to get into printing but aren't sure about it, that is where I point them...and then it gets used for all the sub 256x256 prints that you need while not tying up your main printer. Again, love your video's, your brilliant wittiness, and your unique viewpoints you present. Cheers!

Oh totally Chris and Luke be the view - there's no 'right' answer here, this is why I was trying to pick personas. If someone was a huge miniature maker, then the A1 Mini could be a great place to start with an A1 for terrain for example! It'd be less about the quick change and more about the ability to have printers constantly producing what they need (although you then edge into resin printers which is a whole other video!!). I'm pondering making a Patreon's voting page where you can all rate up and vote various tools based on your experiences. Traditional internet review sites and voting systems have been swamped by bots, so it could be a great way to gather true experiences and views to help people find their way around!!

Patrick

is it better to watch the videos on YouTube?

Hands on Katie

Don't think it makes any difference! I think YouTube has better apps/support for viewing, but above is just the YouTube video embedded, so no difference from my side! (I put it as unlisted so you folks can see it first, so you will spot it here before you see it on YouTube, but no difference beyond that!)

Hey Katie, thought it was about time I signed up over here rather than just YouTube👍 Great video as always

Just purchased the BambuLabs X1-C Probably overkill, but I won't be buying another one anytime soon.

No. I subscribe to the philosophy "Buy the best you can afford and don't replace later".
