Exactly - so we'd probably have a brief moment of ...wow! ...oh! oh!.....oh hell......! But fortunately I recall the Sun is far too small to trigger a supernova, so instead it'll likely expand into a red giant and consume Mercury, Venus and maybe Earth, but we've got 5bn years to shout about that....

The opening of the telescope looks cool... and it really reminds me of the cannon deploying in Subnautica that takes down our rescue ship. How fitting... 😁
