Probably way too late, but it would be interesting to see if reversing the twist makes a difference. I'd suspect it has to align to the fan blades in some ways

Great thought and a few have suggested that! Not too late, I've been jotting ideas from folk down on the discord site, so definitely going to test this. Part of me struggles to think there could be that much directional turbulence whilst it's spinning at 800+rpm, but then I know similar vortexes are seen in propeller aerodynamics in aircraft, so definitely worth a test!

I know this is an old subject but I have a few question. How did you measure airflow for your tests? I reduced the filter to a 120mm grill but it turns out it's really a 119mm grill so the holes didn't quite line up. Any chance you can share the CAD files rather than STL?

Thanks for sending the link to the CAD files. I've used the info from those and from a member on the AlibreCAD forum to design my own. I'd post a picture here but I don't think I'm allowed so I'll post it on the discord thread.
