Nothing is laid out for you, for a while now and from now on there are a lot of things open to interpretation and many implied things you have to look out for, metaphors and the real meaning behind what they are saying. This show is sooooo goooood

The reason Haruno told Yukino to hand the phone to Hiki, was because she saw right through Yukino. She noticed that what Yukino said, was something that 100% Hiki would say, so Yukino was just using Hiki's "solution" for that moment, and Haruno caught it instantly. Hiki's request that they keep saying they still have accomplish, is from when he said he wants something genuine. And, glad to see best girl Iroha getting the love she deserves! 😂

i really love this show because of how much you really have to read between the lines. sometimes the dialogue will say one thing but mean the opposite. you almost can't take your eyes off the screen for more than 1 sec or you might miss out on the hidden meaning behind what the characters are meaning to say. this show also gives great depth and character development. it has been a while since i watched SNAFU but rewatching this just feels almost nostalgic in a way. there's probably different opinions on this but i'd say the reason the show doesn't say things out right is because we are sort of watching this from Hikki's, Yuki's and Yui's perspective in the moment. and right now in the moment all 3 of them know what the issue at hand is of who will end up with Hikki. but neither of them want to say it out right because if they did that means one might get "left behind" and their friendship between the 3 of them could end. they know what the issue is but don't want to confront it because of what might happen so they try to find a way around it and avoid it and almost not accept reality, especially Hikki. i could be wrong but i also think Yui purposefully tried to make Yuki forfeit and hand the win over to Yui because Yuki would sacrifice herself without putting up a fight so Yui and Hikki could be happy. Yui knows what she wants and she's taking the first step and she will take it all from Yuki if she has too. she's "not the nice girl". then Hikki steps in and says that Yuki should decide for herself as in she should get to fight for what she wants (even though she seems to still be a bit unsure as to what exactly she want). to which Yui says "i knew you would say that"

She's also trying to get under Yukino's skin (as per usual) by "proving" she knows he's right there, "putting the words in her mouth" so to speak. She knows her sister well enough to call her out. The only way Yukino can "prove her wrong" in that situation is to be immediately and believably confused as to why she would assume he's there... which Yukino frankly isn't capable of.

Where the season ended is also exactly where the Volume 11 ended. So even book readers had to wait, and Volume 12 didn't release for over two years. So just imagine having to wait two years to see what happened.

I do think the show is good... but this season finale, frankly, was the absolute low point of the show for me. Don't get me wrong, I know what they are talking about and i'm invested. I mostly enjoy that this show approaches the topics at hand in a very "open to interpretation" style. But I really, really, really hated the dialogue in the final scene. I know they've been dancing around the topic because they don't want to hurt each other... but... I really, really wish Yui had just actually said it finally. She clearly built up the resolve to finally act and make herself clear. So do it. Make yourself clear. She's been, by and far, the most respectful of Yukino and her feelings for a very, very long time. She's earned that right - not that she had to even earn it in the first place. Good on Hikki for not letting Yukino go down without a fight, though. Unfortunately... it also kind of implies he's already decided (though likely only subconciously at this point), in a way.
