Like the squirrel and serpent of the World Tree, I wonder if it’s possible for the protagonist to add creatures to his inner world. Wouldn’t be that far fetched considering the merchant’s cultivation.

I guess like everything else in the inner world they’ll start out as fakes or artificial. Because it’s apparently possible for rogue elements in a inner world like needing to prevent a blackmarket from forming.

I think the spirit stones are more spiritual constructs that are basically manifestations of his cultivation. They behave based on his knowledge, understanding, and control of the market, not based on their own experience and decisions. They aren't really alive, it's just a complication involved in balancing and managing his energies.

I assume something similar can be done with animals, especially if it’s only one or two like a squirrel and serpent. A squirrel climbs tree and wants nuts, a serpent slithers and likes warm places.
