It would be interesting if the protagonist, not controlling the plants, just guiding/persuading them, could persuade a plant to give him its seeds, since in previous chapters he says that he guides the plants by telling them how it would be "easier" to grow, that's why I think it's a good idea for the protagonist to convince a plant to give him its seeds to use in combat or other things, so that the plant becomes stronger with each generation, such as with more edge, resistance or intelligence, since in one chapter he shows that plants have "personalities".
