I wish that when he gets an essence, he could also sense the elements or its adjacent. Air essence = air flow, earth = tremor, fire = heat such and such. Would certainly be interesting, or you could just make a sensing “domain” for mc as well

A chimera hydra? Nice boss fight. The vine giving dodge cues is a good thing to know the direction of incoming attacks. It could have higher sensory detection. Maybe the vine could turn into versatile armor/weapons.
