I really like Jörmungandr or a form of it. Vines are kind snake like, it fits to his cultivation tree, he might now it from his prior life and like it for similar reasons. As it's a mouthful a shortform / cutesy version might be nice

Thanks for the chapter

Mithras131

Welp, if the vine buddy starts growing grapes, my vote is for Dionysus or Dio

Darune Albane

Do another cycle and get 2 vines

Name? Viney, lmao vinny?

Big Lumpy Beetle

Im between Jormungandr for the world tree norse vibes and Línghún Téng (pronounced Lynn gwen han), meaning soul vine in chinese (according to google translate)

Tom C

Kline the vine Rhino the vine-o Caroline the vine Marvin - shortened to Marv. Cos Marvin Gaye sang “heard it through the grape vine” lol. I dunno. I’m Just thinking up dumb names now 👍😂 TFTC!

Tom C

Wouldn’t use the Chinese version for this imo. Ling is one character 灵 and hun is the next 魂 。gwen doesn’t really make sense in that regard… but it’s a cool name in any case!

Nicholas Manuel

Aubrey from little shop of horrors

Vincent Mason

Ivy for a name, maybe.

Anthony P.

Boaty McBoatface!

ReadingObsessed

It's dark but you could go Nidhogg? That's the dragon that nibbles on the roots of the world tree. Or could go with Ratatoskr the squirrel that takes care of Yggdrasil.

greg

YIN for (conceal, covert, hidden). as the next bond be YANG. I'm sure you see this coming.

Flippu

His cultivation method is called: world tree - kinda the same no? He's from our world anyway so it should be within his normal thoughts

RedFaux

Will the vine still be there next loop? Or will the Elders experiments just fail to work?

RedFaux

Yggdrasil. Yggy for short.

Darune Albane

Anything in his soul stays with him .. that is why he is looking into the ability to "carve" his red/blue sun stuff into his soul so he can keep his abilities when he souljumps

BrokenhaloSC0

rót for a name it means root in old norse

Munirah Hutchinson

- Viridian as a call back to greenery. - Pando after the largest and oldest single plant, the giant quaking aspen. - Embryophyta is the blade of the first plants ever evolved, so maybe Embry or Phyta.

Noah

Or you could go Drasil as a nickname. The only issue is that every iesaki names their plant companion after Yggdrasil

Noah

I’ve got a couple ideas, but in general I feel like it should be an impressive name, with a possible cuter nickname: 1. Nimloth, from LotR’s, is the name of the Great Tree of Gondor, and “Nim” would be a cute name for everyday. LotR’s trivia also seems like a thing the MC might actually remember from his past life! 2. Gawain was a member of the Arthur’s Knights, and is best known as the protagonist of the The Green Knight, which has to do with nature and death. Those would be good themes for the vine! 3. Yggdrasil is obviously a common fantasy one, and “Drasil” is a cool nickname. It’s not very original though. 4. Patsy as a Monty Python reference. He was Arthur’s attendant in the yellow sun shirt.

Noah

If the author is gonna go down the Yggdrasil train, then I like these a lot more than just doing “Yggdrasil.” Between those two options, I like Ratatoskr the best. Then Ke Yin can call him “Toski” as a nickname. Veofolnir is another animal associated with Yggdrasil, and “Veor” is a solid everyday name. My only issue with these kinda names is that it supposes that the MC knew these types of Norse Mythological knowledge off the top of his head, when there isn’t really an established reason he would 🤷‍♂️

LordRhyolith

Leshy - some nature spirit in Slavic mythology. Basically, hobo druids squatting in the forest eating magic mushrooms all day every day, guarding it from people they don't like. Sometimes they play tricks on you when bored, but if you harm the forest, they shapeshift into some humanoid hybrid creature and berserk on you. They can control animals and the fauna, etc.

Maitreya Buddha

What about Tara, which represents the female emanation of the buddha of love and compassion. There are also different Tara emanations (21 to be specific) and one of them is the Green Tara for the quality of longevity, health and fertility :) Would be funny when the vine develops and transform into a humanoid being it will decide to be a female :))

Maitreya Buddha

Btw do you have with this nordic stuff, no end to it. But still it is interesting 😅
