I...had to have an inner debate on whether to post this or not, since I don't want to come off like I'm being biased against or unnecessarily harsh on a genuinely good story but I want to get this off my chest. Something about the last few chapters hasn't really clicked with me and I think the fact that this alt-PoV chapter did made me realize that its because I've honestly missed having character focused chapters and I think a big part of that is there's simply not been all that many interactions between *people* at all. Or at least people 'that matter', for a lack of better term. Azure is always present, yes, and I'll always be the best spirit boy's number 1 fan, but at the end of the day Azure is still 'only' Ke Yin's system advisor A.I. Spirit thingy and not a person with their own story arc and feelings, if that makes sense? The most interested in the Ke Yin's story I've been in recent chapters has been 10 chapters back when he finally confronted Kangming. The absolute most interested I've been *in general* was when we met Wei Lin's family and especially the dad. In stories like these I think we have to take it as a given that character focused sections are always going to be spaced out in between chapters that focus on the mechanics of the world(s) and the Isekai Protagonist's system, so to speak. I also understand that, in a sense, Ke Yin isn't so much the emotional core of the story so much as he's the catalyst that forces others to react and grow as either his friends or as his rivals/enemies. Just had to get my 2 cents out there, hope I'm not being irritating.

I was honestly disappointed that the World Tree foundation didn't absorb the void energy. Glad Wei Lin at least capitalized on it. Out of all the books I read, this is the only one where I mix up all the names.
