Awesome!! I was expecting a fight but this is better and pleasantly surprising. It also pushes the narrative in a way that doesn’t feel forced, at least to me.

Question for everyone..I have reread the past few chapters. When did he warn her of the first assassination attempt. I reread the chapters and it was the guard that noticed the assassin and the attempt to stab her in the back he didn't do anything that could be attributed to him (moving the root) was supposed to be invisible to everyone

They don't know he moved the root, but he called out to her, telling her to watch out or some such. That's what they're referring to.
