I think the world spirit knew enough about the realm stabilizing tree to know it would be effectively immune to energy based attack and brought in this being as part of a plan to help counter it.

Very interesting to think about what the different color thread means. Maybe with the gray in between color he’s in some stasis frozen or captured. Like how that guy is capturing people like the blood ancestor just at a higher scale. Maybe that originator of the blue energy higher level being that burned out the eyes captured or integrated him. But the threads still there so he can be freed somehow? Could be cool. Maybe he’s like in the world tree in stasis. The entity was a silver light and switching between forms so maybe that’s the silver/grey and existing between life and death because it has transcended physical form?
