I wanted to post with some success but alas, it’s round 2 of painting nightmare. This time things were going very smoothly. Bodywork looked good. Primer went on nicely. Then it was time for the base coat….

I DIDNT use the heater, prepped and degreased the parts 3 times, and still got fisheyes. Long story short I tested a bunch of stuff trying to figure it out and I think I’ve narrowed it down to… bad microfiber towels????

I’ll know for sure tomorrow but either way, I’ve ruined 4/6 of the parts and have to re-sand everything.

In other news I made a bash bar. Wohoo…

Oh and in other other news ThatDudeInBlue reviewed the Accord today. Wohoo…

Rough. Now I feel bad for pushing you to paint. Still probably worth the tribulations... I hope 🤞

I wonder if it would be worth installing some electric infrared heaters in the ceiling in the paint booth, although it might be tricky keeping overspray out of them, could be a hazard. But maybe something worth looking into, or even some regular heaters at the floor to try to bring the whole room up to temp before you start. Also, is your paint being stored in an area that gets cold, as I have seen that basically ruin house paint even once you get it up to temp, maybe it's same with car paint.
