This car has been a rollercoaster of emotions this week. Got the head reinstalled with all the new parts but cylinders 3/4 had ZERO compression. (Car would barely run, checked it with a leak down tester & a compression tester).
Well today I went to tear it down and try to figure out the issue. First, I decided to take the exhaust manifold off and re-do the leak down. It was hard to pinpoint where the air was leaking out of with the exhaust manifold on because the air could travel into other cylinders.
Well, re did the leak down and all the cylinders were fine. Checked the compression: everything good. The car had magically fixed itself. Put it back together and it ran perfect. Buuuuuuuuttttttt…
It’s still blowing hella bubbles in the coolant system at idle and when you rev it. So: headgasket is still blown? Decided to drive it to double check and……. It’s totally fine. No longer making the weird noise. No longer pushing a bunch of coolant into the overflow.
So idk really. All things tell me this car should be broken but it’s running & driving fine. That’s good enough for me for now.
