i vote new engine with AC, softer motor mounts, and that runs on normal pump fuel! cars are more fun when you can drive them as much as possible. i’m trying to build my supercharged miata to be as streetable as possible for that reason

Buy a stock 1.8, with a smaller turbo, then rebuild the 1.8 to make heaps of power

1.8l use different parts for everything so I’d have to get a BUNCH of new parts. Not worth IMO. Stock engine 1.6 and 1.8 make the same power too

Lower compression pistons and get it back on 93 with the same turbo. Would be cheaper than buying a whole 1.6 (i hope) and would make your built motor streetable again

Interesting idea. I think usually you need to machine the block when swapping pistons, which would make it more expensive. Could just send it and see what happens tho 😂

Hey I know you said you want to do a BEAMS swap but you should really look into doing a j32 swap… they are pretty affordable to do and you can easily get 300 crank hp out of one. You could definitely do it just by parting out your current setup.
