1. Spotify cuts out (again I know....) around 1:49:10 (song: Broken Home 💔) I realize it tho on the song after luckily 😇

2. Computer memory overload so I had to do a 2nd recording for the last part 😝

Thank you for such an authentic and vulnerable reaction. I'd be keen to hear if any of the songs became growers after further listens. There are some definite 5SOSFAM faves on this album like Jet Black Heart and Outer Space/Carry On being the obvious ones. The fandom was very excited when they played "Outer Space/Carry On" live at the Royal Albert Hall concert to launch 5SOS5 jokingly saying it made sense given they had a wonderful string section and gospel choir backing them but that they'd probably never play it live again.....only to troll the fandom to play it as one of the encores at their most recent show last year. I think the obvious thing for me on this album is the writing style and the lyrics becoming more mature as they are moving out of their teens at this stage. The big jump is of course the Youngblood album which they took a year to write and interestingly has a few songs co-written with Swedish songwriters. I would also thoroughly recommend watching their Cocktail Chats (on their Youtube channel) not long after the Youngblood album as this is an easily digestable 7 episodes (5-7 mins each) that details writing facts etc for the main songs off the album. Here's hoping the Spotify gremlins don't meddle with your Youngblood reaction - but well picked up. 😊

In the fanbase, SGFG is a fan favorite album! Favorite songs include Jet Black Heart (also known as "Michael's song" or JBH for short) and Outer Space/Carry On (OSCO). Other favorites of mine are (in order) Castaway and Broken Home. Waste The Night is famous in the fanbase because Calum made a habit of forgetting the lyrics during his verse LOL The Madden brothers from Good Charlotte co-wrote the first 4 songs of the album and Broken Home. Alex Gaskarth co-wrote Over and Out (bonus track) and Catch Fire. The London Symphony Orchestra recorded the strings.
