Howdy partners!

I hope you are all enjoying the current adventure and its not too spooky. There is going to be another Q&A video coming out so I am here for your questions. Do you have a query on how we run out games or need advice on your own game? Well post it here and I will do my best to answer them all!

Thankyou so much for your support. You are the real games masters!

1) what got you into tttpgs? 2) how do you go about, efficiently, making campaigns using the premade call of cthulhu stuff, for example?

Omni

Will there be any merch for Mystery Quest in the future?

Sallymander

Howdy Tom! This is a ttrpg adjacent question. We recently hosted our first D&D campaign and bought minis of everyone's characters as a surprise. This got me interested in learning how to paint them. Do you have any advice for beginners in miniature painting? Thank you :)

YourNeighborKnight

Who got you into Call of Cthulhu specifically? Any fun stories from back when you first started playing?

Charles Large

Where is the music and sound effects obtained from?

James King

TIM! What has been your favourite Mystery Quest campaign to date? Personally I really enjoyed the Saturnine Chalice - you nailed the spooky atmosphere! Keep on keeping on <3

Nick G

YES! I really want the logo on a shirt and some of the intro designs.

Benjo Baggins

Hey Tom, absolutely love the campaigns you've run so far. 1. Do you have any tips for making new players feel comfortable when playing ttrpgs for the first time? 2. Are there any particular campaigns or ttrpgs you are excited to run in 2024?

Nicholas Cameron

Hey Tom! 1. Do you have a favorite moment from the campaigns so far? 2. Would you consider TTRPG suggestions from members? I’m working on a game I’m hoping to release next year I think you might get a kick out of.

Helge Ryeng

Are you going to do a session of a warhammer 40k ttrpg?

colebotman

Howdy Tom! Loving the vids. Have you heard of the Paranoia TTRPG? I think you'd excel at running it. Character creation is hilarious - you choose stats that affect the person sitting to your left, including negative personality quirks. Everyone plays a clone trying to appease The Computer (think GLaDOS from Portal) and get a promotion. Perfect for dark comedy games.

Nicholas Cameron

Oh second question, have y'all considered creating a Mystery Quest specific subreddit or community somewhere? I'd love to have a place to regularly see people talk about episodes or post fanart and the broader Yogscast sub doesn't seem look a perfect fit for that.

Billy Weir

Spooky fun is being had. Couple of questions: There are so many great TTRPG systems out there - is there any particular reason for those you’ve used to date? Any previews of future adventures? Does everyone still want to punch Jingly John in the face now that he’s a badass :D

George

Hello Tom and friends, When you guys are playing do you use the same music and audio effects on your voice? I'm planning to run a Mothership game, any tips from your experience of Ypsilon-14

Liv Witkowski

Hello! I've been loving the content so far, but was curious if we going to see any minifig focused games or continue with "theater of the mind" games? I absolutely understand the difference in production between the two, but was curious, especially in the context of some broader Games Night crossover.

JonnyH

Love the videos! I'm totally "borrowing" (Read: Stealing) some things for my own games :) Are there any settings or rulesets you really want to play, but can't get the people together for, or just don't think "work" for the video/podcast format?

Kate

Hello! Two questions for now I think, What makes you pick the ttrpgs you play? How long does it take to prep for games? You've whet my appetite for call of cthulhu spookums and am interested in being keeper but I have no idea what time commitment it would involve!

NoDachiBull

Hey Tom! I was wondering, in terms of elder gods for your call of cathulhu runs, Azathoth is the major reoccurring one, is this on purpose to have something to kind of connect previous adventures, or is it just a common point to have in many campaigns? Love everything you've been putting out, keep it up!

Skeletalrose

Hey Tom! There are many games/books/movies that have made tie in TTRPGs. Are there any worlds that you would want to make their own system or just a fiction world you would love to run a game in. I know I would love to play a game in the world of A Plague Tale.

Douglas

Hey Mr Tom! Could you talk a bit about how you manage the balancing act of your players joking around and trying to keep everyone invested in the story that youre all telling on the show :)

Leonhardt

Hi Tom. I am running a game of Vampire: The Masquerade which, in my opinion, requires fairly fleshed out NPCs. Do you have any tips on creating NPCs for a game and how to improve at portraying them? I think am quite bad at acting and would like to mix it up a bit but I don't know how to improve. Also, since it's my favourite rpg series I have to ask, do you have any plans on running one of the many World of Darkness games?

Inkar Fidelis

As a fan of a variety of horror media, I'm curious what you would recommend! I personally adore The Magnus Archives - have you listened to that before? Where do you get your spookin' fix?

DJ Walia

Which would you recommend, supporting the channel/future games on Patreon, or by becoming a member on Youtube?

Stelios Pasiardis

Hello Tom and rest of the crew! Absolutely love the channel, it has been my favourite since it started! Question: Where do I find Call of Cthulu Starter Set, Dice Keeper Screen etc? I need an online shop that posts to Cyprus (which is in Europe). I tried FantasyWelt but they kept me waiting for a month and in the end I just refunded the order! Any shops to recommend?

Benjamin Blundell

Hello Tom. Do you know of any game systems or aids that can help players play a character that is, for example, smart, socially adept or witty when the player themselves might not be? Dice and mechanics do a good job (arguably) of making you feel physically strong and adept in combat, but are there any ways to help a player feel like they outsmarted or really convinced an NPC?

Olivier Langevoort

Hello hello - have you ever noticed how much your "or are you on a mystery quest"-intros sound like the Shia LaBoeuf song by Rob Cantor? Every time you start your intro I imagine hearing a whispered "Shia LaBoeuf" at the pauses.

Douglas

Am I on a mystery quest?

Jordan Craze

Best scenario yet , many spookyness , loved the ritual scene in EP 5

Dangis Khan

Hello! Enjoy the pod! You can tell a lot of effort goes into each episode. Do you feel like the pod has been successful so far vs the effort you’ve put in (I.e. getting views, subscribes, etc.)? Also, do you have any favorite horror movie tropes or clichés?

YourNeighborKnight

From time to time you put a little smiley face on your Keeper Screen. Is it so the players don't feel to scared with all the spooky stories you have going on at the table?

Billy Other

Any tips on improvising NPC dialogue?

Whats up with how Simon holds his pencils?
