Hi Everyone!

Now that we've seen (and loved) Band of Brothers, we'd like to catch up on some World War II movies. Let us know which one you think we should start with!

They're all very good, but Saving Private Ryan is one of the best movies ever made. Must watch.

I voted for enemy at the gates as there just isn't enough reactions to it, but saving pvt Ryan will win rightfully so

I was going to say Schindler's List needs to be on here (it's on that ginormous list of movies I sent you). but Saving Private Ryan is such a must watch that it deserves to win, and Shindler's List would knock it and everything else flat. I'd also like to throw in another suggestion--Hacksaw Ridge. It should have been on that list, but I hadn't actually seen it at the time. It's based on a true story. I recently watched it, and it's fantastic.

Saving Private Ryan is the obvious choice. I would then suggest Schindler's List which is I feel, essential viewing. Dunkirk is a great film from the British side of the war. I'd also suggest the companion series to Band of Brothers, The Pacific. Also, Flags of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima. Both films Directed by Clint Eastwood, telling the story of the Battle of Iwo Jima from the perspective of the Americans and the Japanese.

ummm tough choice do we watch saving private ryan following the yanks or do we watch enemy at the gates following the russians dunkirk is boring and so is fury could of done with a few more option im going to predict the winner its going to be a landslide win for saving private ryan

Yes, we absolutely want to watch Schindler's List. It's such a famous movie, and we've heard it's a must... But yeah, have to be in the right mood for something that serious I'm thinking.

Just because I want to add my two cents and not have an entry in the class register that says Bifi is not participating in the lesson, I'll mention "Downfall" and "Das Boot". I'll leave the praise for "Das Boot" to the YouTube comment columns. It will be mentioned often enough under one of your WW2 videos. And if you like Tom Cruise - I don't even know if it was you or am I confusing that now, you might think of Operation Valkyrie. It's actually a good film, it was just overshadowed a bit by the controversial discussion beforehand.
