I wonder how much exp is she going to get if any, considering she already killed her once. With how much happened, it would be realistic that a "scout" even manages to advance to the orange tier... though I guess she can hide her tier anyway.

absolutely perfect chapter, I'm looking forward to the next one

I am a little confused by the way Violet is written. She is 90% written emotionally and action wise as sociopath. Everything is about her, how it affects her, and the impulsivity and anger at things not going her way too. Yet you still have reminded us several times she has guilt/empathy she is wresting with. Is this done to try make her a little bit relatable with most of the audience? Your other option would have been to have her mark/claim people she wants for future plans. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate either, she can just decide she wants to protect Kiera because she thinks she is fun. That she wants Aubrey around because torturing her emotionally is enjoyable. She seems very hung up on the cowardice apsect of Stephanie. I am surprised she is going to kill her and not have her wander off and kill other hedron/people on her behalf to test if she gets credit for that in her path. Guess we'll see next chapter if she gets something for killing her 'twice'. Maybe this kill will help her figure it out? Maybe this is to help hide her growth from others? I still wonder if she is overthinking how much she will be investigated/tracked. It seems impossible to track everyone that closely/easily.

That is because she is not a sociopath. She has neither ASPD nor NPD, nor any specific personality disorder. She has *some* symptoms of several, but not enough symptoms of any of them for a proper diagnosis. I actually consulted with a psych professional in order to get that depiction right. She is selfish and too ready to ignore her empathy, but she very much does experience it. This is not about making her relatable, so much as subverting depictions of personality disorders in media. They are often associated with characters like Violet, serial killers etc. But in reality they are just people with a personality disorder, which has it's challenges but does not make them inherently evil or violent. Conversely, many of the most dangerous people in reality do not have a personality disorder. It should feel a bit less confusing if you abandon the concept that she *must* have ASPD because she has some symptoms of it. She's not mentally healthy, no, but she doesn't have any specific disorder either. I depict her with empathy because she has it. I depict her ignoring it because that's the choice she makes. As many do to a smaller degree when they, say, drive past an unhoused person without offering a few dollars, or ignore a car on the side of the road. Or for a more actively involved example, when spreading a nasty rumor, or talking badly about someone behind there back. She's like that, with much more extreme circumstances and a much greater than usual willingness to go to extremes. She kills, then suppresses and rationalizes away the guilt, because she enjoys it more than feels guilty about it. She is just a person who actively chooses control and gratification and suppresses empathy. She is the way she is for a number of reasons, including environment, upbringing in a wealthy family that disregarded her. So both used to some measure of control granted by luxury and wealth, and used to having none because she was powerless in every other way. She is a cocktail of passive entitlement and justified resentment. Her calling, which has an actual bloodlust attribute attached, encourages her darker temptations she's cultivated over the years, and gives her the means to carry them out etc. Lots of other reasons as well. As for whether she will be tracked, I won't lore dump too much, but tbf she is on her way to a school, which is a setting where advancement is usually graded and ranked.
