Rebuilding Map Part 1 (Patreon)

First off, holy CRAP you guys broke $2k. That's certainly awesome. I had a goal of ~1.8k so I could hire Japanese editors to further narrative elements in the game but it was never fulfilled in the 2 years that I set it. Until now. Thank you all very much. I will certainly start to formulate plans to add story like elements to the game after v0.9! The operation has now grown!
In other news, v0.9f beta was released and I've received feedback about better impressions compared to v0.9e or v0.9d, this is good because we can all agree now that it is almost up to speed with v0.8 in terms of feel and mechanics. If you have issues with the launcher, I temporarily uploaded the beta so it can be manually downloaded. There was also a launcher fix released so you can alternatively try using the launcher again.
Now for development news, the map is back! As I said before, the map was downscaled and redone to account for new render pipeline changes. I am doing my best to optimize it for VR but also future proof it for long term graphical support.
This lead me to use some of the viva funds to buy new better looking assets. The old canyon props from v0.8 were originally done by me but I found much better looking ones. The problem was that they were the wrong color:

I always wanted the viva map to be more desert like so I applied a more canyon-like coat of paint on these new props to match the style I wanted.

The end result came out very well. I also purchased trees and optimized them for VR:

The layout of the map will be centered around the spa. The spa will be at the top of a hill and will be occluded by mountainous regions to occlude large parts for VR performance. Like so:

There will be a river that circles the mountain that ends into a large lake. Here are some more progress pictures:

I don't know if I will have enough time to implement the old town but I will try to allocate space for it.
Stay tuned!
