Schicksal's Most Despised Valkyrie Chapters 1-5

Prologue: Trying to Provoke Me

Long train tracks extended to the horizon where the sea met the sky, and the mellow sound of the train whistle drifted in the gentle sea breeze.

A family boarded the train hand in hand, traversing the calm harbor...

A perfect vacation was about to begin.

Unless the Honkai suddenly happened...

“Hmm...?”

When Lin Ling slowly opened her eyes from unconsciousness, the first thing she saw was a ceiling made entirely of metal. Looking around, she saw several glowing monitors, numerous high-tech instruments she couldn’t understand, and various wires connected to her body.

Beside her was an older woman with fiery red hair.

She was staring at Lin Ling intently, perhaps observing her?

Lin Ling hurriedly sat up, hugging her chest, and shrank back into a corner, cautiously asking, “Wh-where am I?”

Seeing the sole survivor of this small Honkai Outbreak awaken, Himeko Murata forced a smile, “You’re awake, little girl. This is the Hyperion. Don’t be afraid; it’s all over now. You’re safe...”

“Hyperion? Over? Safe?” Hearing these familiar terms and seeing the rapidly retreating clouds outside the window, Lin Ling’s mind raced.

Suddenly, she had a bold idea!

Am I really going? She’s not lying to me, is she? Have I crossed over into the world of StarCraft?!

But Lin Ling soon realized she was mistaken.

“Major Himeko! The Hyperion is about to arrive at St. Freya Academy.” A girl’s voice came from the doorway.

“Got it,” Himeko replied, then patted Lin Ling’s shoulder reassuringly, “Don’t be sad. From now on, you’re part of the St. Freya Academy family. You won’t be alone. I’ll take you to meet the principal and get you enrolled.”

Himeko? St. Freya Academy? Hyperion, I understand now...

Lin Ling finally realized she was on another Hyperion battleship, in the world of Honkai Impact 3rd, a world possibly more dangerous than StarCraft in a sense...

“Incredible...” After learning the truth, Lin Ling was filled with emotion, “Hmm! My voice?”

She suddenly noticed her voice seemed different.

Before she could react to her voice, a cold mechanical female voice sounded in her mind:

[Ding~ System Alert: Congratulations to the host for acquiring this system. By causing psychological fluctuations in others, there is a chance to copy their abilities, including but not limited to...]

This voice further confirmed that she had indeed transmigrated!

Seeing the girl’s stunned and surprised reactions, Himeko worriedly asked, “Hey? Are you okay? Are you feeling unwell anywhere?”

Roar~ Chuff!

Accompanied by the roar of engines, the massive battleship slowly landed on St. Freya Academy’s designated helipad.

“Himeko, how did it go this time?”

As the hatch opened, welcoming Himeko and others was a petite, white-haired girl, Theresa, who looked like a child but had nearly fifty years of wisdom and... age.

“Alas~” Himeko sighed, “Unfortunately, we were still a step too late. A train speeding along the coast was overturned by Honkai beasts, and the entire train sank into the sea...”

“Hmm...” Though Theresa had heard countless stories of Honkai disasters, it was something she could never get used to. After a moment of silence, she continued, “Any survivors?”

“Only one girl survived. Though she’s infected with Honkai energy, she doesn’t show signs of becoming a zombie. She seems to have good resistance to Honkai energy, so I brought her back. She might have the potential to become a Valkyrie.”

“Well... we can only do that. Where is she? Let me see.” Theresa stood on tiptoe to look into the Hyperion cabin, wanting to see what the girl looked like.

“She just woke up and seems a bit dazed. When I talked to her, she seemed distracted,” Himeko replied, “But it’s understandable, given what she’s been through. She might need some time to recover... Hmm?!”

“Hey~” A girl in loose beachwear and colorful sunglasses jumped out of the Hyperion cabin instead of using the ladder.

“Wow, jumping from this height and my legs don’t hurt? Honkai energy is amazing.” After landing steadily, the girl looked around and pouted slightly, “So this is St. Freya Academy? Doesn’t seem like much.”

As the principal, Theresa was very displeased to hear someone disparage her academy and said to Himeko, “Hey? Himeko, lower your head. I need to tell you something.”

“What’s up?” Though puzzled, Himeko lowered her head.

“Is that girl the sole survivor you mentioned? And she dares look down on our academy? She's too arrogant!”

“Well, my dear principal, bear with it. This little girl might have suffered head trauma or psychological shock, so she seems a bit abnormal, possibly even amnesiac. She doesn’t remember anything except her name, not even her parents or home...”

“Hey!” As Himeko and Theresa whispered, Lin Ling suddenly came over, “Auntie Himeko, what are you whispering about with that little brat? Aren’t you taking me to meet the principal? Let’s go.”

“What did you call me!?#” x2

Lin Ling effortlessly offended both women with one sentence.

And she did it on purpose. She recognized the petite white-haired girl as the legal loli.

But she deliberately provoked them to test if the voice in her mind was true—that causing emotional fluctuations in others could grant her their abilities. In this perilous world, enhancing her abilities was crucial for survival.

[Ding~ System Alert: Host slightly angered Himeko Murata and Theresa Apocalypse. Honkai energy adaptation increased by 1%.]

Then she heard the system’s prompt.

Only 1%? Lin Ling was a bit dissatisfied.

Looks like I need to be even more ruthless.

“Whoa!”

The next moment, she felt her feet lift off the ground, and she was suspended in the air.

Looking closely, she saw that Theresa used the chains attached to her weapon, the Oath of Judah, to bind her limbs, suspending her mid-air.

“You were looking for the principal, right? That’s me! Come with me! I need to thoroughly examine your body! Especially your brain to see if there’s something wrong!”

With that, the angry principal dragged the newcomer, who dared provoke her repeatedly, into a small room.

Chapter 1: The Roommates of the Average Herrscher

"Madam Headmistress, it seems that Miss Lin Ling's body is unharmed, and her brain's physical structure is normal. She might have lost her memory purely due to psychological trauma."

After a more detailed examination than those conducted on the Hyperion, a researcher holding a translucent tablet reported to Theresa.

"Hmm," a small white figure with arms crossed and chin held high responded. "So, it’s amnesia? Well, perhaps it’s better this way. Losing painful memories could allow her to start a new life... Besides, her Honkai adaptability barely meets the admission standards, so let her stay here."

"Hehe~"

"Huh? What are you doing?" Theresa then noticed the white-haired girl Himeko had brought back was smiling foolishly at her.

"A little girl pretending to be an adult, so cute! I want to take you home and keep you as a pet!"

"What? Keep me?!" Theresa was about to explode but restrained herself, remembering the researcher’s mention of psychological trauma.

She shook her head helplessly. First, she took in Kiana, who caused trouble everywhere, and now, another mentally unstable person who wants to treat her like a pet. The academy’s problem students seem to be multiplying, and managing them is becoming increasingly difficult.

Hmm... maybe...

...

"This is your dormitory. We’ll provide your daily necessities. You can move in right away," Theresa said as she led Lin Ling into a spacious room.

"Do I need to pay for living expenses? Just so you know, I’m penniless right now."

"Don’t worry, the Valkyrie training costs are covered by Schicksal HQ, and Valkyries receive salaries and allowances according to their rank. Of course, as students, you’ll earn less than frontline Valkyries. So, if you want to make more money, you’ll have to study hard and become a high-ranking Valkyrie."

Lin Ling pouted and lazily said, "Forget it. Less money is fine. I don’t want to go to the front lines."

"Sigh," Theresa sighed softly.

She wasn’t angry at the white-haired girl’s lack of ambition. On the contrary, if possible, she wouldn’t want these young girls to face life-threatening dangers. At their age, they should enjoy a carefree school life, but alas...

"Wouldn’t it be better to stay in a school full of beautiful girls and create a harem rather than risking your life on the front lines?"

Theresa’s eye twitched at Lin Ling’s words.

She began to doubt if allowing this girl to stay was a mistake. Maybe Fu Hua, the most diligent and strict student, should teach her a lesson to straighten her path.

"So this is St. Freya Academy’s dormitory? Not bad at all," Lin Ling said, looking around the luxurious dorm that was far better than the cramped dormitories of her past life. It felt like a presidential suite, complete with a kitchen, a spacious bathroom with a large tub, a living room with various appliances, and entertainment options...

But the best part was the prospect of living with several beautiful girls!

Lin Ling couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the thought.

"Get along with your roommates. If you have any questions, ask them. I have other matters to attend to," Theresa said, ready to leave after settling Lin Ling.

Lin Ling quickly grabbed her. "Wait, School Principal, how many roommates do I have?"

"Hmm, let’s see. Including the whole suite, there’s Himeko, Kiana, Mei, Bronya, Fu Hua, and me, making six in total. But you’ll only share a room with Fu Hua."

What?!

Lin Ling was stunned.

Does this mean I’m part of the main cast? Living with beings who can destroy the world seems dangerous... Wait, what did she say? Sharing a room with Fu Hua?

Lin Ling quickly asked, "Headmistress, are there no single rooms available?"

It wasn’t that Lin Ling disliked Fu Hua; she was just a bit shy and...

"Stop being picky!" Theresa pretended to be annoyed. "There are no single rooms. We have a lot of new students, so you’ll have to make do. Besides, Fu Hua is very nice and probably the only one willing to share a room with you. Otherwise, you’d be sleeping on the streets."

Hmph, so you want a harem? I’ll assign Fu Hua to keep a strict watch on you day and night. Let’s see if you can charm her!

"Ah, well..."

And so, under the headmistress’s secret machinations, Lin Ling had no choice but to accept her ‘tragic’ fate of sharing a room with Fu Hua.

With Theresa gone and it still being school hours, Lin Ling was alone in the dorm. She finally had time to process the absurd events that had happened since she woke up.

Especially the need to check that so-called system.

Summoning the system with her mind, Lin Ling saw the phrase "Killer of Hearts" appear on the screen only she could see. She shook her head.

"How cruel! Someone as upright, brave, intelligent, and cute as me could never do such a thing."

Luckily, after carefully reading through it, Lin Ling realized the system wasn’t as terrifying as its name suggested. The so-called "Killer of Hearts" didn’t literally mean killing hearts, nor was it limited to verbal attacks. Any action that caused psychological fluctuations would do.

"So ‘making someone blush on a date’ counts too? Hehe..."

Lin Ling began to daydream.

Understanding the system’s activation conditions, Lin Ling checked the effects of activation.

The mechanism of power theft depended on the intensity of psychological fluctuations. The stronger the fluctuation, the more power was stolen. The type of power stolen was random, like a blind box draw.

Teasing Theresa had earned her some Honkai adaptability, which was a mid-level draw.

A low-level draw might only steal a little girl’s muscle strength, while the upper limit was uncapped, potentially stealing part of a Herrscher’s power.

However, "theft" wasn’t quite accurate, as the original power wouldn’t decrease. It was more like "copying" or "plagiarizing."

"Since I don’t have any enemies right now, I’ll just leave it as it is," Lin Ling decided, considering her current lack of adversaries.

"Ah, I’m so tired."

Perhaps the day’s strange events had been too overwhelming for Lin Ling. Feeling exhausted, she fell asleep on the sofa.

She didn’t know how much time had passed when she was awakened by voices.

"Hey, wake up! Who are you, and what are you doing in our dorm?"

"Kiana, don’t poke someone’s face. It’s rude."

"Huh? Isn’t it ruder to sleep in someone else’s dorm? We have no place to sit."

Chapter 2: I Want to Be a Villain

Awakened by the sound and sensation on her face, Lin Ling opened her eyes to see a white-haired girl with two big braids looking at her.

“Hehe, if you don’t get up, I’m going to sit on you!”

“What?” Lin Ling, who had been about to get up, immediately closed her eyes again.

“Hey! What’s the meaning of this?” Kiana exclaimed angrily. “I saw you open your eyes. Why did you close them again?”

“Why ask so many questions?” Lin Ling kept her eyes shut and even struck a pose as if inviting Kiana to sit. “Please sit, but... be gentle.”

“Hmm, you asked for it.” Kiana had never encountered such a seemingly masochistic request. She immediately turned around, lifted her hips, and prepared to sit on the strange girl.

“Hmm...” But the purple-haired girl beside them suddenly frowned, grabbed Kiana, who was halfway sitting, and said to Lin Ling, “Sorry, she was just joking.”

Although she apologized, there was an underlying tone of asserting dominance.

“Is that so?” Lin Ling sat up slowly and began observing the three girls around her.

A tall girl with silver-white hair in braids, a smaller one with drill-like pigtails, and a tall girl with a high purple-black ponytail. Coupled with their conversation earlier, it was clear—they were the “Honkai Trinity, dub thee, The Big Three.”

“Who are you, anyway?” Kiana continued, “Why are you in our dormitory?”

“It’s simple. This is my dormitory too.” Lin Ling replied matter-of-factly.

Kiana tilted her head, “Is it? But our dormitory is full.”

Before Lin Ling could speak, the girl hugging a Homu doll interjected, “No problem. Dumb Kiana, you can give up your room.”

“What? Then where will I sleep?”

“Dumb Kiana, you can sleep on the floor, the sofa, or even the bathroom.”

“What kind of nonsense is that? Why do I have to... Haha, wait, I have an idea!” Kiana suddenly had a bright idea. “I could share a room with Mei! Is that okay, Mei?”

Kiana looked at Mei like a pitiful kitten.

Mei responded indulgently, “I can’t say no to you. Sure.”

“Ugh...” Seeing Mei agree to Kiana’s unreasonable request, Bronya regretted it and said, “If that’s the case, let me give up my room, and I’ll share with Mei.”

“No! I was first!” Kiana was upset at being outdone. “And it was your idea for me to move out.”

“Dumb Kiana, the order doesn’t matter. The point is, you’re too noisy and will disturb Mei’s rest. It’s better if I stay with her.”

Lin Ling smiled warmly at their interaction.

The clumsy Kiana, the nurturing Mei, and the seemingly aloof but warm-hearted Bronya—they were adorable in this state.

She didn’t want them to become like their future selves. If heaven gave her the chance to come to this world, she would make this imperfect story turn out the way she hoped!

So, I’ll be a villain. Yes, that’s right, and not just because I want to tease them...

But how to cause psychological fluctuations?

Should I just confess to all three at once? No, that’s too embarrassing and it’s too soon. They haven’t fully awakened their powers. A big move like that now wouldn’t be very effective, and an unprepared confession might not have much impact anyway.

While Lin Ling was still agonizing over this, the sound of keys turning in the door lock interrupted them.

They all turned to see a blue-gray-haired girl enter, carrying a large bed.

“Class Monitor? What’s this?” Kiana asked.

“You don’t need to argue anymore.” The newcomer effortlessly lifted the bed with one hand. “Lin Ling is a new student. She’ll share a room with me.”

Kiana was slightly disappointed, “Oh, I guess I won’t get to room with Mei.”

Just when they thought the matter was settled, a girl’s voice exclaimed, “Why is there a boy in the girls’ dormitory?!”

“...”

After a brief silence, Kiana burst out laughing, “Bronya, did you hear that? Class monitor got mistaken for a boy because she’s flat-chested!”

“Stop it, dumb Kiana! That hurts!” Bronya summoned her mini-mech to block Kiana’s playful slaps.

[System Alert: Host successfully made Kiana Kaslana laugh. Obtained part of her big appetite ability.]

The system prompt in Lin Ling’s mind annoyed her: Really? Does this even count as an ability?

[System Alert: The more you eat, the stronger you become.]

Oh, that’s better.

Fu Hua forced a smile, “It’s okay. It’s understandable for a first meeting...”

[System Alert: Host mildly angered Fu Hua. Obtained skill: Edge of Taixuan - First Stage: Still Clear Water.]

“Great!” If Kiana’s big appetite was so-so, Edge of Taixuan made Lin Ling ecstatic

“What’s great?” Lin Ling’s outburst drew attention.

“Oh, I meant it’s great that this handsome person is actually a lady,” Lin Ling explained.

Though it sounded odd, Fu Hua accepted it as a compliment. After adding another bump on Kiana’s head, she carried the bed to her room.

Returning to the living room, she politely extended her hand to Lin Ling, “Hello, new classmate. I’m Fu Hua. I’ve heard about you from the principal. From today, we’ll be roommates. I’ll also be your class representative and guide you through the Valkyrie courses. Feel free to ask me anything.”

“Mm-hmm.” Still excited, Lin Ling shook Fu Hua’s hand firmly. “Thank you, Fu Hua. I love you so much!”

Chapter 3: Flirt With Everyone First

“What... what?” Fu Hua was stunned, and the others were equally shocked.

Lin Ling, too, realized she had just said something over the top in her excitement. Her face flushed, but not wanting to lose her composure, she quickly cleared her throat and pretended to be calm.

Oh no! Did I just confess to Immortal Fu Hua in my excitement? Well, it was bound to happen someday. Let's just consider this practice for confessing to more people in the future.

Fu Hua regained her composure and calmly addressed the white-haired girl in front of her, “Lin Ling, thank you for your affection, but I’m sorry. You’re a good person, but I don’t have any such thoughts right now.”

Despite her calm demeanor, Lin Ling keenly noticed a slight blush on Fu Hua’s face.

[System Prompt: Host has successfully made Fu Hua slightly embarrassed. Arm strength increased by 1 kg.]

Lin Ling thought: Even though Immortal Fu Hua is a battle-hardened veteran, she clearly has no romantic experience. Unlike the others who haven’t become Herrschers yet, Fu Hua has lost most of her power due to her broken sword heart and amnesia. This means her strength still exists in essence.

I should take advantage of the current early stage of the Honkai Impact 3rd storyline and make the most of this opportunity.

“Haha, it’s alright.” Lin Ling smiled at Fu Hua. “I’ll make you fall for me soon enough. By the way, even though the principal has already told you about me, let me formally introduce myself. Hello, Fu Hua. My name is Lin Ling.”

“...” Fu Hua remained silent for a moment before changing the subject. “Lin Ling sounds like a name from Shenzhou.”

“Haha, so we’re from the same hometown. Ah, two fellow countrymen shedding tears of joy~”

“...” After another pause, Fu Hua couldn’t help but say, “Lin Ling, can you please let go of my hand?”

“Oh, sorry. Your hands are so soft and smooth; I couldn’t bear to let go.” Despite apologizing, Lin Ling didn’t release her grip and even gave Fu Hua’s hand a couple of extra squeezes.

Fu Hua smiled kindly, “You even know lines from the Classic of Poetry. It seems more likely that we’re from the same hometown.”

As she spoke, Lin Ling felt an immense, irresistible force from Fu Hua’s hand, easily breaking free from her grasp.

Rubbing her slightly sore arm, Lin Ling couldn’t help but marvel: As expected of Jingwei, she’s incredibly strong. How long will I have to flirt with her to become this powerful?

“Hi there, new roommate!” Kiana cheerfully greeted Lin Ling. “I’m Kiana Kaslana. Just call me Kiana.”

“Alright, Ms. Paramecium.” Lin Ling responded immediately.

“Para... paramecium? What does that mean? Why call me that?” Kiana was puzzled.

Bronya interjected, “Dumb Kiana.”

“What?” Kiana’s smile turned into a pout as she glared at the short girl hugging a Homu doll, “Why are you calling me dumb again, Bronya!?”

“Bronya is not calling you dumb,” Bronya explained calmly. “Bronya is helping explain that ‘paramecium’ means you are an idiot.”

Kiana turned her aggrieved gaze to the new girl, “Is that true, Lin Ling?”

“No, Kiana.” Lin Ling hesitated briefly before stepping forward and taking Kiana’s hands in hers. “Paramecium is an affectionate nickname, like how couples call each other silly or foolish. So, I’ll call you Paramecium from now on.”

“Well... it does sound kind of cute when you put it that way,” Kiana scratched her head, but then added, “But couldn’t we choose something better?”

“Paramecium sounds cute, and it’s a matching double-word nickname like mine. It’s perfect.”

“Matching?” Kiana tilted her head in confusion.

“Alright, alright.” A tall girl with purple hair, 172 cm in height, stepped between Kiana and Lin Ling, subtly separating their hands. She smiled at Lin Ling, “Hello, Lin Ling. I’m Raiden Mei. You can call me Mei.”

“Hello, Mei...” Lin Ling thought about how to tease Mei: If I say, 'I can't do anything!' or 'Pots and pans! Submit to me!' will she get mad? Probably not. From their current state, it seems we haven't reached the point in the story where Mei becomes heavily teased by the fandom. What should I do?

But just then, Mei pulled Kiana away, “Kiana, stop chatting and come help me. Let's make something delicious to welcome our new member.”

After Mei and Kiana left, only Bronya and Fu Hua remained in the living room. Lin Ling turned her attention to the latter.

Fu Hua, noticing Lin Ling’s gaze, quickly said, “I’ll go help too.” She then retreated to the kitchen.

This left Lin Ling alone with the doll-hugging Bronya.

“I’m Bronya Zaychik.” Bronya briefly introduced herself and then sat down silently on the sofa.

“Bronya, you’re so cute. I wish I could keep you as a pet,” Lin Ling tried her usual teasing.

Unlike Theresa, Bronya replied expressionlessly, “Bronya refuses.”

Hmm... I forgot Bronya’s emotional system was damaged, making her physically incapable of emotional fluctuations. This will be tricky.

“Hey, newbie.” Bronya handed Lin Ling a game controller. “Want to play a game?”

“Well, okay.” Since teasing Bronya wasn’t working, Lin Ling decided to play a game to relax and think about how to better utilize her system's abilities.

However, Lin Ling quickly found herself repeatedly defeated, experiencing over a hundred consecutive losses. Even though she had been a self-proclaimed gaming expert in her previous life, Bronya was practically unbeatable.

“This is too much. She’s like a cheat code in human form!”

...

After a while, the door opened again. A red-haired woman entered, “Ah, so many things to do today, I’m exhausted... Oh, something smells good! Did Mei cook something nice?”

A small girl about the same height as Bronya followed her in, “It smells like bitter melon too.”

“Kiana, stop snacking,” Mei’s voice came from the kitchen. “The principal and Teacher Himeko are back. It's time to serve the food.”

The small dorm was soon filled with a warm and cozy atmosphere...

Chapter 4: You Will Surely Achieve Greatness

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Inside the dormitory of St. Freya Academy, the clattering of bowls and chopsticks echoed incessantly. The source of the noise was two white-haired girls engrossed in eating.

Thanks to her own substantial appetite and the large stomach capacity she had stolen from Kiana, Lin Ling displayed a ravenous eating ability that belied her slender frame.

Kiana, seemingly driven by a strange competitive spirit sparked by the newcomer, was determined to maintain her title as St. Freya's biggest eater, consuming even faster and more than usual.

Meanwhile, Principal Theresa silently frowned: Why has Himeko brought back another big eater? The already tight budget of St. Freya Academy is definitely going to be in the red now.

In the end, it was the original champion, Kiana, who won by a slim margin of three bowls of rice.

“Ah, I’m full,” Lin Ling set down her chopsticks and patted her now round belly, “Thank you all for the meal.”

Seeing Lin Ling stop before her, Kiana happily declared, “Yay! I won!”

Mei, however, was concerned. “Kiana, you ate too much today. Be careful not to upset your stomach.”

“It’s fine. I’m in great shape, and besides, Mei, your cooking was especially delicious tonight. I couldn’t control myself at all,” Kiana said, turning her gaze to the newcomer, “Right, Lin Ling?”

Lin Ling nodded, “Yes, it was indeed very delicious. Actually, it’s the best food I’ve ever had!”

“Haha, really? You’re flattering me,” Mei, who had initially harbored some reservations due to Lin Ling’s earlier behavior, felt her concerns melt away with the high praise.

“So!”

But before Mei could fully enjoy the compliment, Lin Ling suddenly stood up.

She bowed deeply to Mei and loudly declared, “Miss Mei! Please make miso soup for me every day!”

“What...?”

Mei was stunned once again.

In her hometown, this request was practically a marriage proposal. And the strangest part was that this same person had just declared her love for Fu Hua and had been flirting with everyone moments before.

“W-Wait, Lin Ling, didn’t you say you liked the class monitor?” Mei, regaining some composure, used Fu Hua as a shield.

“It’s fine,” Lin Ling straightened up, placed one hand on her chest and the other open-palmed, then glanced around at everyone with a deep expression. “I love all of you equally! You’re all my wings!”

“…”

This declaration of universal affection left everyone present with looks of deep disdain.

[Ding~ System Prompt 1...]

[System Prompt 2...]

[System Prompt 3...]

Simultaneously, Lin Ling heard a series of system notifications. Unfortunately, most were simple increases in physical strength, with only one providing a 1% increase in her ability to control Honkai energy.

This greatly frustrated Lin Ling: Damn it! I sacrificed my dignity for this gacha, and I didn’t get anything good! This is infuriating! I have to try again!

Driven by a gacha addiction-like fervor, Lin Ling resolved to increase her efforts.

The next day~

In the Valkyrie training room at St. Freya Academy.

“Alright, now I’ll take you through a practical training session. Are you ready?” Fu Hua, wearing her red-framed glasses, asked Lin Ling seriously.

“No,” Lin Ling shook her head repeatedly, pouting, “Class monitor, my butt still hurts. You really don’t know your own strength.”

“I apologize for not holding back in time,” Fu Hua adjusted her glasses helplessly, “but you startled me by climbing into my bed in the middle of the night.”

It turned out that despite Fu Hua bringing in an extra bed out of concern for the new student’s comfort, Lin Ling had still sneaked into her bed once Fu Hua fell asleep.

As a result, Lin Ling had received "Inch Fist -Get out of the Bed" from Fu Hua, being kicked out of bed and landing heavily on the floor, resulting in a still aching rear.

“Alright, let’s put aside the matter of your... um, rear. Speaking of combat, Valkyries have many options for fighting styles and weapons, including swords, spears, scythes, and modern firearms,” Fu Hua continued her lecture on Valkyrie combat techniques.

“What are you best at, Class Monitor?” Lin Ling asked.

“Me? Hmm...” Fu Hua thought for a moment, “I’m somewhat proficient in all of them, but I prefer hand-to-hand combat, Inch Fist - Thunder!”

She then casually punched a nearby sandbag.

Bang!

The seemingly effortless punch made the large sandbag, half a meter in diameter and over two meters tall, shake violently.

The display on top of the sandbag showed a massive force value.

“Wow! You’re amazing, Class Monitor,” Lin Ling praised, inwardly relieved that Fu Hua had held back last night. Otherwise, she might have had another transmigration experience.

“Thank you. Now, Lin Ling, you try,” Fu Hua stepped aside, giving Lin Ling space. “Let’s see your strength.”

“Oh, I definitely can’t compare to you, Class Monitor,” Lin Ling scratched her head, then paused briefly in front of the sandbag.

Then, to Fu Hua’s astonishment~

Lin Ling’s eyes sharpened, her right foot stomped down, left foot stepping forward, body rotating 90 degrees at the waist, and her left arm shot forward!

“Inch Fist - Thunder!”

Bang!

The sound matched Fu Hua’s previous punch.

After sacrificing her dignity last night, Lin Ling had managed to learn, or rather steal, the first move of the Inch Fist technique Sky Breaker—from Fu Hua in her embarrassed and angry state.

Now she had the perfect opportunity to use it.

Fu Hua was deeply shocked: To learn such an advanced technique after seeing it once—this new student’s talent was terrifying.

But before Fu Hua could fully process her surprise~

“Hah!”

With a cry, a wave of power visible to the naked eye spread from Lin Ling’s fist, and the sandbag exploded.

“This is... Inch Fist - Sky Breaker?” Fu Hua’s astonishment was boundless, “Lin Ling, where did you learn this?”

“I...” After a moment’s thought, Lin Ling shamelessly replied, “I derived it from your Inch Fist - Thunder.”

If learning Inch Fist at a glance could be considered genius, deducing Sky Breaker the most powerful technique of Inch Fist basic moves from just that move, was beyond human— It truly monstrous.

Fu Hua couldn’t help but marvel, “This is incredible! I had underestimated you based on the principal’s assessment of your average Honkai adaptability. With such talent, you will surely achieve greatness in time!”

In reality, Lin Ling had just unlocked the beginner level Edge of Taixuan from the system while Fu Hua was still reeling from shock.
