DEVOUR THE SINNERS ARM RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS UNWILLING EYES, LET HIM WITNESS THE FOLLY OF HIS FALSE PATH, STRIP HIM DOWN TILL THERE IS NOTHING LEFT!!!

Cory Olson

Wow thats deserved but dark

blucube 14

Thanks for the chapter! A fitting punishment, though I was hoping he would get some Crinis time, oh well maybe later.

Andrew Woodard

I was hoping he would get reduced. That's awesome.

Grey Law

Man anytime the pov is outside Anthony, especially if it’s one of Anthony’s enemies, he really is terrifying.

Shaitan

Ah karma. Honestly threatening to release the “recipe” to the non-monster civilizations might be a good nuclear deterrent. Would probably cause a lot of infighting and those civilizations would probably do a lot to prevent it

Grey Law

Well, if people didn’t want to go to war with the ants before, some certainly will now if it gets out they can use humans as experience IV’s now lol

Theweird12345

Ohhhh I love this! Thanks boss

Tyler Hoover

It would be cooler if instead of using the essence themselves, when they return the other prisoners and Alir isn't with them, they can do a dramatic reveal and say "Oh we didn't forget about HIM", and have brilliant walk out with a tray holding the jar of his extracted essence. That would be peak revenge.

Codered999

He's only losing an arm to the ritual, there's still more limbs for Crinis to rend

Anthony Romanov

Oh I am intrigued how World will react that Colony "solved" "non-monster" problem with Juicer. And how much they will look other way if Colony threatening to release it to all shady underground dealers? Strong and weak non-monsters would be hunted to extract their experience. Pure pure Chaos! It like Social Nuclear Bomb. Once released to public there won't be stopping it again!

Scott Faulkner

Humbling isn't it alir. You looked at them, talked to them, saw the amazing things they made, say the large amount of trade that they did for the good of all and then evaluated them as lesser, worthy as nothing but a light snack. Even after doing such hateful things to one of their own you continued to hunt and hurt them to the detriment of your own kind. Now you get to feel what she felt, what she died for. The terrible thing is The Colony probably won't kill you. Just drain you a little then give you back to the church... with the details of what they did. Then tell all of those trade partners how to do the ritual that has been holding up the church elite for centuries.

Roombot

YESSSSSS

Sly Trickster

Yessss!!!!! Justice!!!!

forwad Nothing

My money is on them figuring out how it tastes, and then feeding it back to him to put him through the process again and again…

James

I absolutely love the non Colony point of view chapters. Yes, they may include undeserved aversion to the Colony and its species, and yet they present such a unique perspective on Pangera and the Colony that the chapters seem to fly by. I've internalized the ant mindset so comfortably that what they can fo doesn't seem as absurd or weighty as when described from a humanoid perspective. Anyway, i'm not saying i dislike one over the other, just that I FEEL the weight from the third person humanoid perspective more. Thank you very much for the chapter and keep up the phenomenal work❤️❤️

Navarog

Its more of religious damage. We can produce elixir from monsters and monsters only because this is the will of God. And now they will have prove that God of ants have a say in this matters.

Anthony Romanov

Exactly. Can't have civilization with everyone you meet see you as menu item. Who needs to go in dangerous dungeon if you can squeeze your neighbours.

Roombot

Wait, how did Brilliant figure out how to do it to sapients? I don’t think she would’ve been testing the theory on someone other than this guy but she made it sound like she’d already done it Also, I love the implication that the church has been trying to do that. The sheer hypocrisy is unparalleled.

Sand

Brilliant is the kind of ant that can be sure something will work purely based on theory.

Roombot

This exactly. How’s the church gonna react when the colony threatens to release their great secret to the public?

R.E. McCoy

Satisfying conclusion.

Buck

This is very much the punishment Alir deserves for torturing the Colony member in Silver City in order to extract her essence. Now they just need to send the essence they extract from Alir back to the Church of the Path with a note explaining what it is. Poetic and totally justified.

Bethany Bluebird

JUICE. JUICE. JUICE. JUICE. JUICE. GIVE US THE JUUUUUUUUUICE.

Kyle_Tekehe

Dark Anthony literally possessed me for a sec, as I went HEHEHEHEHEHEHE for a sec there irl. HAHAHAHAHA LETS GOOOOOOOOOO, ok i miss leeroy already..

alt31415

“but sentencing him for a completely legal act? “ - Does this dense motherfucker REALLY think the civilization of sapient ants, would consider kidnapping and murdering a sapient ant, legal? “[Plenty of evil things are legal,] the ant refuted him, not really paying attention. [For example, what you did to my sister.] “ - YOU FUCKING TELL HIM, ANTHONY! “Once he did, he felt the contents of his stomach rising up to the back of his throat. “ - Oh? What’s wrong, Alir? Does the idea of this being done to you seem… horrible? Excruciating? Does it make you scared? Funny how the shoe is on the other foot now. Like, out and out war to kill ants is bad, but something about capturing someone to kill them - even without the 'slow and painful' agony - sticks in my craw extra bad.

Hayden Leech

Ooh. They should release the method of exactly how to turn humans into elixir to…everybody. It would take away the churches monopoly on elixir and it would get the old races murdering each other.

alt31415

Problem with that is it would get a LOT of innocent people murdered. IRL people already hurt each other for money and social status. How bad do you think it would be if they could do so to literally gain magical superhuman powers?

Bethany Bluebird

How funny would it be if it turns out you can get like. Wayyyyyy more juice from higher level humans. like... say... priests. Who juice monsters for fun. Bet they have LOADS of juice in em.

Yanni

You can’t see it but I’m smiling ear to ear.

UNKNOWN

I can read that in Jeff Hayes' voice for Anthony really easy.

Marter

He is so f🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💥

NyxWell

May the sister rest in peace knowing she is avenged and forever remembered by her sisters. For. The. Colony.

Paul S.

BRILLIANT!!

Heara17

So just the one arm will be used? I have the impression that they are not really going to kill him

Maximus

It would be Brilliant who'd figure out how to drain experience without killing the subject. And wouldn't that be a deterrent? 😂 The church cannot argue that they killed him, since they didn't and they'd be hard-pressed to argue that the colony did something wrong, since it's what they are doing. I'm sure they are going to argue that point anyway. Furthermore, though, draining a non-monster might show the rest of the world the potential of the church's techniques. It's a wholly different matter if you have a huge organisation that can really only harm monsters or one that could kill any human and process them into resources. Similarly, there will be privileged people who will go and kidnap sapients to drain their essence and strengthen themselves if the specific technique becomes known. Even if not, just the show plausibilty might inspire a whole range of inhuman experiments.

Vampiric Dust

I really cannot stand stories that let evil people live when they do such horrible things. I really expect them to chop his limbs off, regrow them with healing, and continue this until he's utterly broken before chuck his near corpse body to extract the rest.

Evitox

Well at minimum they’ll turn his arm into essence which is arguably worse than death for him. They’ll probably turn him entirely into essence but if they don’t it’ll still be horrible for him. I understand what you mean though, it’s definitely frustrating but I think in this case the author is aware of the potential backlash if he just lets him go. It would be best, in my opinion, for him to change paths to follow the ants and be the ultimate betrayal

Kirk Foster

I think they'll take his essence up to the point where he becomes a lvl one all over again draining every skill every lvl leaving him as a average human then send his ass back to the church that wouldn't kill him but it would drain draining decades of progress away from him resetting him and sending a message to the church or they just drain him dry completely

Private Writer

Tftc! Is Chapter 1745 missing from the collection?

Runaway_Cactuar

I disagree with all the edgelords and their, "if you don't kill every enemy in your way, you're a weak bitch!" mantra. Sure, it'd be nice to kill the bastard. But Anthony is supposed to be deployed in the 5th for the true war. There's no reason to be looking for another one in the 4th. In fact, the whole point of this op is to provide a deterrence to the bad guys to get them to stand down. And ransoming a broken LV1 quadriplegic High Priest back is as daunting as a warning gets. Unlike the Colony, the Church will unlikely invest massive resources required to fixing the evil bastard. After all, ambitious rats like him are a dime a dozen there. So I doubt he'll ever make a comeback. He'll have to live out the rest of his life broken and useless.

Silent Consent

Thanks so much! Anthony has been extremely lax and it is only going to hurt the colony. This is perfect.

Silent Consent

You think it’s a good idea to dismember a high priest and ransom him back to the church because maybe they won’t bother restoring his limbs? Your nuts. The bastard would be back to targeting them 10 times over. Anthony knows what he knows now, he knows this man is responsible for the ritual and is the main reason the colony has been targeted by the church. Nobody can even say for sure whether or not he was taken or killed in battle and even if they did it’s completely just he be subjected to the same fate he subjected other sapients to. It’s not “edge lord” to wage war on enemies who have come to exterminate you.

KopiCAT

If they go through with it they are no different from the Church. Kill the guy sure. But do this, and they are just as bad as the Church. If they think what Path are doing is evil, they are now equally evil themselves. Now, if they are fine being evil, go ahead. But no more complaining that the Church are horrible for creating xp soup.

Casper0173

Nah, stuff that nonsensical moral high ground crap. The church needs to know they can be milked for their zip just like monsters can. They need to know what it’s like to be hunted. That fear and anxiety. To have their illusions and delusions ripped away from them and their faith shattered. To realize that, perhaps, the universe doesn’t give two cosmic shits about their views or faith and that they aren’t at all as special as they deluded themselves into believing. Besides, they aren’t even to give him a taste of his own medicine. They aren’t even simply getting even. Imagine, your little sister is happily and excitedly going to market for the first time. She gets abducted by some priest who then performs a “holy” ritual to literally slowly squeeze ever last memory, experience, thought, and moment of life from her. All because she looks different and comes from somewhere else and has no rights. You’d want that person to experience exactly what that is like so they, before they die, can intimately know exactly how she felt in her last moments. Bottom line, the moral high ground is a bs way of inflating one’s ego while being unwilling to reciprocate disrespect due to fear.

ManguKing

Does this mean that the colony can finally turn slugs into essence?

campione_p

745?. It's published but not on this list of the novel

carson

Can't spell Justice without Juice.
