I can totally see Aeon letting them trigger items then ambushing the generals and taking all the items! That or tracing the messages back to the HQ so he can raid church vaults. Could have a burglary subsection with root tunnels and cracking wards :D.

Lol instead of letting them get anti-beetle abilities he's making assassin beetles that counter them. I will admit Im kinda worried about the hero's thought. I really hope this is just a minor pantheon thing and the heroes can't be influenced to kill him. For one there is apparently a curse if you kill a hero before demon king is taken care of and for two well it would be pretty annoying and devastating

What was it that tipped the gods' teapot anyway? Was it that Aeon's nature domain and growing level put him in contest with another god? Was it the blood magic? The repeated feigned ignorance of their many calls?

It triggered after his level grew again following the demon king fight, specifically with the Aeonic classes. So probably that.
