I'd have to agree and disagree. Jura has similar problems one level down. He's extremely long lived and has seen far more than your average citizen of Neo Freaka. He's also experienced as the head of The Order. He is, however basically imortal whenever a new titan slot opens up and far closer to the people generally. I feel Lyn and the treefriends up north can also help with that if their willing.

Hmm some of his beetle evolutions are starting to sound more and more like the bugs from starship troopers... maybe that's why several gods declared war, to stomp out the bugs before they start dropping rocks on people? Or maybe it was too stop TruckBeetle-kun before they started harvesting souls.

I love how intellectual this is. You have the MC question himself, and others all the time. Most stories boil down to doing and deciding things in the moment and moving on. Rarely do they ever look back and wonder WHY the evil guy tried to kill them, or WHY they took the actions they did. It's certainly refreshing.

I feel a bit disappointed at the monotony of this chapter’s subject. Did we not already gain enough insight into Aeon’s psyche and moral fiber in the last chapter or two? Luckily, I still found it interesting to read.

Liked the chapter though I gotta say that tyranny is tyranny no-matter its guise or intentions. (and since this is a fiction your writing, if you keep consistant quality I won't mind your decisions for the most part) Also kinda wondering how truckbeetles work, with a regular beetle you could probably just put a harness on it and secure the goods to that but do these new beetles have like space under their exoskeleton or something to store stuff?? Good stuff all around though :)

He is too soft and asks too many questions. Every traded royal kin for favors or to get a kingdom vassalized or have their religion. Hell I don't think he's going far enough, he should be getting those royals to marry his people, then killing all the heirs and king to absorb the kingdom.

Aeon could go with the traditional route for elite privileges - the greater the privilege the greater the responsibility. Responsibility to act as a role model for the people, responsibility to ensure good governance and military defense. Also, he could add one more factor to the mix - the greater the privilege and responsibility, the greater the punishment for criminal behaviour. After all is it not fair, when he keeps the perspective of the medieval-type world in mind, that the prince is punished far more severely for the same crime than the beggar? Basically directly correlating privilege with both reward and punishment.
