WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE (1995) - Full Watch Along

Welcome to the Dollhouse is a 1995 American coming-of-age black comedy film written and directed by Todd Solondz. An independent film, it won the Grand Jury Prize at the 1996 Sundance Film Festival and launched the careers of Solondz and Heather Matarazzo. The story follows the unpopular middle schooler Dawn as she goes to extreme lengths trying to earn the respect of her vicious fellow students and her uninterested family.

I watched the watch along last night (I’m catching up on the ones you did before I joined the Patreon). I was sure I saw this in the 90s, but I didn’t remember it being so dark, that’s when I realized I had it mixed up with another indie film called Ghost World. The girl who starred in this was in Hostel 2. Her face as an adult looks exactly the same. This movie was bold for the time, and took a lot of chances. I agree with you, that singer kid looked thirty, and she looked 9. If she was in jr. high, she’d have had to be at least 12 at the time. That computer her brother was doing homework on was old even back then, that thing was clearly from the 80s.

That is a surprise! I'll try to be there!
