Oh! Man! This is your first time watching? Excited to see this reaction. This was one of a very limited selection of laser discs available to rent in the nearby town where I grew up. You had to rent the laser disc player too. But I must've watched this dozens of times in the 80s and probably 100 or more times by now. Still enjoy it and I fully expect I'll enjoy your reaction to it. Thanks!

A lot of people believe this movie is an exaggeration of how things were when our vets came back from Vietnam; sadly, it's not. And don't even get me started on law enforcement or ICE. The most dangerous thing is a cop with a bruised ego. You need to watch the next one now.

This was 1982. The very unpopular Vietnam War was still an open wound in the US. Sadly, veterans of that war were not given the honor and respect they deserved. Many people took out their frustrations with the war and US policy on the returning soldiers. On an esthetic note, this was also the start of the Reagan era. The “long-haired” hippie era of the ‘70’s was over and out of favor. A great film and I enjoyed watching it with you.

Love this movie. When Stallone was still possibly the next Brando.

Love this movie, and I love that you picked this movie. I knew many Vietnam vets in my youth and their treatment when they returned from war was appalling. I prefer it to the perhaps more popular Rambo II as I think it has more heart. I wouldn't recommend Rambo III. Enjoyable rewatch with you for me.

Love this movie so much. That monologue at the end kills me every time. PLEASE KEEP GOING. Rambo First Blood II is even better. I like all 5 even if some are better than others. The whole series is worth watching because it does have an arc.
