TOTAL RECALL (1990) - Full Watch Along

Total Recall is a 1990 American science fiction action film directed by Paul Verhoeven, with a screenplay by Ronald Shusett, Dan O'Bannon, and Gary Goldman. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rachel Ticotin, Sharon Stone, Ronny Cox, and Michael Ironside. Based on the 1966 short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick, Total Recall tells the story of Douglas Quaid (Schwarzenegger), a construction worker who receives an implanted memory of a fantastical adventure on Mars. He subsequently finds his adventure occurring in reality as agents of a shadow organization try to prevent him from recovering memories of his past as a Martian secret agent aiming to stop the tyrannical regime of the planet's dictator Vilos Cohaagen (Cox).

Coby, I love how surprised you were that you liked it. I have such vivid memories of seeing this one at the theater. My friends and I made the 45-minute drive to a neighboring city because there wasn't a theater in my tiny hometown. We hit the Pizza Hut for their buffet back when they were still sit-down restaurants and gorged on pizza before heading over to the theater. Arnie removing the fake mechanical head, was front and center in the trailer, and we were expecting a wild ride because of that shot. It blew this seventeen-year-old's mind wide open.

FYI. There is loud low frequency on your video. Like someone is playing music in another room or outside. Great reaction though! :))

One of the best from 1990. love this Arnie movie. One of his best. Great reaction, and always love Michael Ironside as a baddy. I like him in "Scanners" (1981) and "V" (1983)

Director Paul Verhoeven likes to use the same actors in multiple movies: - Ronny Cox also played company VP Dick Jones in Verhoeven's "Robocop". Coby also saw him in "Beverly Hills Cop" 1 & 2 - Sharon Stone was also in Verhoven's "Basic Instinct" - Michael Ironside and Marshall Bell were also in Verhoeven's "Starship Troopers", and Coby saw Michael Ironside as the father-in-law in "Nobody"

Lots of small touches proved to be accurate predictors of the future: - video phone calls = facetime - full body scans at transportation security checkpoints - hologram AI tennis coaching = Peleton - Auto-drive cars and taxis

- There was a (very bad) remake in 2012, so Coby might be remembering a different 3-breasted woman from that version - The producer Mario Kassar and company Carlco were also involved in "Terminator" 1 & 2. - The actor playing Tony from the brothel was also the SWAT leader in "Terminator 2" and best known as Hank Schrader in "Breaking Bad"

Hi Coby, I’m thrilled to be a patron. Some of your reactions are showing the movie on your screen but others are only you synching the movie. I’m not a fan of synching my own movie to follow along so I do hope that you end up c

Doing all future movies like the way you do when I can just watch. Ty so much for all the fun and laughs and smiles

Pretty quick on the "clever girl" quote and perfect that you had that mug. I thought it was funny that they had the Quaid hologram surrounded and didn't shoot each other, but when Melina's hologram was shot at that is exactly what happened. Funny how much you struggled looking at Kuato. The main bad guy was from Beverly Hills cop as the Lieutenant and the other one was Jester from Top Gun.
