BLACKADDER S1E1 "The Foretelling" - Full Watch Along

Blackadder is a series of four period British sitcoms - The Black Adder, Blackadder II, Blackadder the Third and Blackadder Goes Forth - plus several one-off installments, which originally aired on BBC1 from 1983 to 1989. All episodes starred Rowan Atkinson as the antihero Edmund Blackadder and Tony Robinson as Blackadder's servant Baldrick. Each series was set in a different historical period, with the two protagonists accompanied by different characters, though several reappear in one series or another, including Tim McInnerny as Percy and Darling, Stephen Fry as Melchett, and Hugh Laurie as George.

I've probably watched every episode of every season at least a dozen times over and almost know it all word for word... each season improves upon the last until one of the most poignant moments in television history closing out season 4......so excited you're taking this journey Coby, it was a very cunning plan.

Looking forward to discovering this series with you!

I think you're gonna love it Dave... season 1 is often rated lower than the seasons that followed, but it's still so good.

Really happy you're doing this one. One of my favorite britcoms... not an uncommon opinion, I'm sure.

Looking forward to your reaction to this series. It's one of my family's favorite shows, we've had so many laughs watching these over the years. This showcases the broad comedic talent of Rowan Atkinson that most don't know about from just watching Mr. Bean.

Hey another of my favs! Surprised you are starting a new series, but anyway, seasons 2-4 will probably be more your speed, but season 1 has its moments. There are also 2 very funny specials-- the excellent Christmas special and the Cavalier years, and a movie which was just ok (the deleted scenes were funnier than the movie, I thought, so it could easily have been much better).

Coby! You missed the post-credits scene! Go back and check the REAL ending! :-)

Some people say that the 1st season should be skipped, because they say it isn't very good. I disagree 100%. While it's true that seasons 2-4 are better than season 1, I think season 1 is quite good. It's best if you have some familiarity with Shakespeare, of course, so perhaps some people don't catch the references. Also, Rowan Atkinson's character in seasons 2-4 is played much differently and probably appeals to more people. Still, season 1 is great and is definitely worth watching. I'm looking forward to it!
