Can the golems not listen in on Lucien's conversations? I assumed the golemancer would have some capable of that watching him given we've seen some that possesse at least some intelligence.

I didn't think about the black bloom angle. Very clever. Still, will Lucian be able to walk away from this? The pretense is that he stayed behind to find a way to facilitate the possession without losing his blessing. Or maybe to just investigate whatever it is that allows Lucian to avoid the Golemancer's mind reading. Will the Golemancer really let Lucian go before the issue is solved? And even if the demon thinks it is solved, won't he try and force Lucian into possession as soon as he can?

I just thought of it as him sticking to the rules of hospitality, and spying on guests in their private quarters is poor form, so he likely actively disabled his sensing devices that are normally there.
