I wasn't a Twilight fan back in the day, but my sister was, so she got me to watch it with her. Didn't like it, but I could understand why my sister did. We grew up watching Sailor Moon, and then Buffy, both featuring one of those types romances where there's a whole lot of supernatural drama that kept the couples apart for reasons beyond their control. That kind of yearning was so good! I'd actually love to see the other Twilight films now, just to see how different they were from the first one. ok I have to answer their main question of why high school - it is so that way they can stay in one place longer. Since they don't age, pretending to be a high schooler to college to young adult is a longer time frame than just being an adult. So, I live in Forks. It's really fun to hear people talk about and watch twilight since i moved here. It's an interesting place to be. We've got a ton of beaches and hiking and have really leaned into Twilight. There's a ton of touristy stuff to do and even though the only thing in the film from Forks is the town sign there's a lot of places that have been done up as the homes of characters. Dr. Cullen also has a parking spot at the hospital.

1. YES ALL MOVIES!!! Please, please continue! 2. I will never watch this movie again without your commentary. I think we were so lucky to be both the same age as both Harry Potter and Bella. Also very relieved to hear its a wig. And: if i’d ever start wearing make up - i’d steal her make up artist for a little bit. 3. “The cameraman is like “can i watch?”” was the funniest thing ever 4. Love how Beth was hanging out as chill as a teacloth, and Anthony sat as straight as a balletdancer and didnt say a word all through the movie and I dont know what that means. 5. Also: i’d like to add that the baseball scene: Alice’s weird pointy pitcher foot - i think they thought it was a nice touch but they werent sure if they put it in, and couldnt be bothered to check and then they decided to just put it in just to be sure and they accidentally put it in at 5 different angles and moments.

Hey, all! I'm just popping in to clarify the question around Taylor Lautner's indigeneity real quick because Wikipedia isn't super sufficient for clarifying this situation. When Twilight was being cast, Taylor did not know he was Native and didn't have a connection to his tribe. Other Native actors (Krystopher Hyatt) were being considered but weren't willing to cut their hair (due to cultural reasons), so Taylor was picked. Additionally, these actors were kept for the first film as background characters but were dropped in the later films due to this cultural boundary. It was only after the first film was released and received pushback from Native viewers that Taylor looked up his heritage and found out he was Native (distantly). Tbh, I don't consider this representation, especially with how Stephanie Meyers chose to write the Quileute tribe in the series. Tbf, the racism in Twilight is about on par for other big name romance novels, so I think the perspective that misogyny is a primary reason for people disliking the novels is accurate rather than the stereotyping and racism, but yeah. It just annoys me. Still, I'd be a liar if I said I didn't enjoy these novels as a teen like everyone else. Outside of that, though! It was a ton of fun seeing y'all try out this movie! Its always nice to kind of go back in time and reacquaint ourselves (or experience for the first time) with these types of movies! I hope y'all continue to have a great time with these! :)
