A dragon.

Zeoticus continued to stare at his transformed daughter on the screen in disbelief. A dragon. Midoriya Izuku had just transformed his precious daughter into a dragon.

Beside him, Venelana was also gaping. ‘That attack… that was probably stronger than any I could produce… Hells, I think it might be stronger than even my brother’s attacks. Only Sirzechs has stronger Power of Destruction.’ She let out a nervous giggle and rested her head on her husband’s shoulder, “This is…”

Amazing.” He agreed with a shudder.

A smirk crossed her lips, “And to think we were angry.” She murmured, using a spell to ensure they wouldn’t be overheard.

He chuckled, “If I knew about it beforehand I think I would have been throwing her at him.”

“Zeoticus…” Revan looked over, “…Did you know?”

His wife canceled her spell as he shook his head, “No. Whatever that was, she came up with it herself. That’s the first I’ve seen it.”

Leylana huffed out in amusement after checking over the freshly-arrived and terrified-looking Riser, “They were gaping just like everyone else, love. I can see why she was so confident in herself now.”

“How did she do it?!” Someone roared out in a demanding tone. “If our people can learn to become dragons then we can-”

Sirzechs had been stunned silent watching his little sister. He was so proud of her… even if this was going to become a headache for him. He could feel it in his bones. But that statement from one of them immediately got him back on the ball. “Do what, Lord Asmodeus?” He stared the man down, and he quickly sat down, “I think it’s time Rias-chan returns, wouldn’t you say?” He turned to his wife.

She nodded, “Yes, Lord Lucifer.”

Rias was still cackling when Grayfia’s voice crackled over the intercom, “The Rating Game has concluded. Rias Gremory is the victor! Returning you-”

Her eyes bulged, “NONONO WAIT!” She cut her sister-in-law off. With that, she quickly allowed herself to fly down, slamming into the Paris replica and causing a small earthquake. She quickly shrank down, resuming her regular form once more. Sighing in relief, she called out, “Okay, now you can bring me back!”

If she focused, she could almost hear her brother’s snickers as she was teleported into what felt like a solid wall of noise. There were plenty of congratulations being thrown her way, but mostly it was just a cacophony of nobles forgetting their manners and upbringing and screaming questions at her. Very few of them were under enough control to simply wait. Riser was practically hiding behind his mother. He looked terrified of her now. She caught Izuku’s eyes and smiled at him.

He smiled back before raising his hand to his lips. A shrill blast of noise overwhelmed the voices and everyone shut up. “Thank you, Izu.” Rias said, before focusing on the group at large. “Now, I’m sure you’re all wondering how I just did that. Obviously it wasn’t an ability I was born with.” There were some murmurs, and she smirked, “Well, sorry to disappoint, but I can’t tell you.” She held up a hand as they began to clamor again, “This is not-” She raised her voice, “-a matter of desire. In order to gain the power, I had to agree to a geas of non-disclosure.” She lied as easily as she breathed. And immediately, groans rang out through the room.

Rias smiled, “Now, that doesn’t mean I can provide no information, but none of it will be useful for acquiring your own… upgrades, shall we call them?” And now they looked at her intently, “So, here is what I can disclose: The power I acquired cannot be replicated under any circumstances.”

“Why?!” Someone shouted out in a demanding tone. She squinted but wasn’t able to hear who it was.

“Because the method used only allows the power to exist in one instance.” She replied.

“I can corroborate that.” Ajuka threw in lazily, “I was a witness to the experiment and had no success in replicating it.” He had not, in fact, even bothered to try. “I also had to agree to a geas, so do not come to me.” Now the disappointment in the room was palpable.

“Exactly. Now, I chose my power. There are others available. No, I cannot put in a good word for you. I have no way to contact them. No, I cannot tell you how I acquired it or whom I acquired it from. If they feel you are worthy, they will approach you on their own. Finally… it was extremely painful. Lord Beelzebub can corroborate this, but I had a seizure and nearly died.” She declared, and she saw that dimmed the interest of several people once Ajuka confirmed it. She grinned impishly, “That is all the information I am able to give you. Now if you don’t mind…” She walked over and plopped onto Izuku’s lap, smirking like the cat that got the canary and the cream.

And just like she planned, that refocused the attention on him now that the rest of the nobles had been denied what they wished to know. “That’s right. It got a bit lost in the excitement.” Roygun looked shrewdly at Izuku, “Misla said you’re the one who cured her, right?”

“That’s right.” Izuku agreed, “Sairaorg and I became friends. When he told me about his mother, I decided to see if there was anything I could do for her. Luckily, curing it wasn’t too difficult.”

“And how did a human do what thousands of brilliant Devils over thousands of years could not?” Someone demanded with a sneer in his voice.

“Diodora Astaroth.” Rias murmured in his ear.

“Well Lord Astaroth-” Izuku stared at him, “My skills were what made it simple. I am the world’s greatest doctor.” He said, and it wasn’t an empty boast.

“Do you have a power of your own? Like Rias?” Zekram Bael stared him down shrewdly.

“Precisely.” Izuku said, “You witnessed it during the Rating Game. I used it against Miss Yubelluna.” The woman in question let out a shudder, even as he gave her an apologetic look.

“Speaking of which, I would like to witness it the next time you cure someone of the disease, Midoriya.” Ajuka stated.

“Of course, Lord Beelzebub.” Izuku agreed easily, “Are there any suffering from it right now?”

“Not that I know of.” Ajuka waved him off, “It is an incredibly rare disease to begin with, and most aren’t able to afford the care required long-term. Misla Bael was the only known one before you cured her.”

“I see. Thank you, Lord Beelzebub. If anyone falls ill, please just let me know.” Izuku said.

Sirzechs stood up, “Excellent.” He smiled down at his little sister, “Now, while the show is mostly over-” Riser Phenex flinched, his face going ashen, “-there is still the matter of the wager placed upon this Rating Game.”

Leylana stood, “My Lord Lucifer, while-”

Sirzechs raised his hand, “Lady Phenex, before you say anything else, let me ask you this: had the battle gone the other way, would you be making the same argument in Rias’s favor?”

Leylana pursed her lips, “I have been friends with your mother and father for eons, Lord Lucifer. I would not want millennia of friendship to turn into bad blood. So yes, I would.”

Sirzechs smiled, “Very well then.” He looked at Rias, “I know what was agreed upon, sister. As the victor, it is your prerogative to allow a renegotiation. What say you?”

Rias turned to stare at Riser and found he couldn’t even meet her eyes. The once-proud phoenix practically looked like a meek little kitten now. “While there is one matter I am unwilling to compromise on-” Revan and Leylana’s faces dropped, thinking they knew what that one thing was. “I am certainly willing to try to put this behind us. Yes, we can renegotiate at a later date.”

The two sighed in relief, “Thank you, Rias-chan.” Leylana said warmly.

“Excellent. Then with that, I declare the matter closed for the day.” Sirzechs then addressed the room, “Please join us for the reception and dinner.”

Grayfia gestured at the doors, “Please join us in the great hall and feel free to mingle. Music will be played, and you are free to dance.” Riser quickly made his excuses and fled the moment he had the chance. Rias should have felt at least a little bad for obviously traumatizing him but honestly couldn’t bring herself to.

Rias stood and clasped hands with Izuku, “You’ve been diligent in practicing, right?” She murmured to him.

Akeno had been quite thorough in teaching him, and he couldn’t be happier that he was such an extremely good kinesthetic learner. Because there had been punishment for stepping on Akeno’s toes. “Akeno was a great teacher.”

She chuckled, “She zapped you, didn’t she.”

“Worse.” Izuku said. He would have preferred some lightning to the edging and blue balls. She laughed as he said as much.

The two retreated to their room to get changed into more formal wear. Izuku was incredibly uncomfortable with the sheer amount of wealth he was wearing when he came back down. It may have been a simple pair of formal shoes, black slacks, and an emerald shirt not unlike the one Zeoticus favored, but he had a feeling it was worth more than his mother’s apartment. It felt too good. Rias was obviously far more comfortable, wearing a sinful white dress that only didn’t show everything via the power of magic. A slit running all the way to her thigh exposed a dangerous amount of leg and her cleavage was almost fully on display, with the deep v cut going almost to her belly button.

Izuku considered it a great accomplishment that he didn’t rip it off her and throw her onto their bed within a picosecond of seeing her. The happy couple joined the rest and soon found themselves in Sirzechs’s great hall. The music was slow and formal. Perfect for ballroom dancing. He and Rias really couldn’t take their eyes off of one another as they twirled and moved amongst the other dancers.

“I have to say…” He murmured, “This is a lot more…formal and tame than I expected of Devils… despite the dress.”

She chuckled, “Oh, they like to pretend they’re better than that, but soon enough, enough of them will have gotten into the alcohol and the more fun dancing will begin.” She grinned wickedly and was proven right when something much… spicier began playing. And then, they began to Tango.

They cut a swath through the crowd, with everyone turning to watch them. Once the music changed, so did the dances. They went through everything from Salsa to Kizomba. Rias had a proud smirk on her face as she could feel the envy in some of their gazes as she danced with her man. Some were envious of Izuku for their bond, and others surprisingly were jealous of her for having him. Despite not being a Devil himself, his actions in the Rating Game and now were proving him a cut above a good number of people who had great pride in themselves.

And more than that, the two were drawing a great amount of ire from those who absolutely hated that Izuku was a human. Especially when he was showing them up. Finally, she sighed, “Much as I’d prefer to dance the night away with you, I think we should make the rounds. I think Akeno will tie me up and make me watch tonight if I don’t hand you off to her.”

Izuku chuckled and was traded off to Akeno while Rias went to dance with Kiba. Akeno was very obviously trying to one-up her King, and he was painfully hard by the time he got handed off to Lavinia. The beautiful blonde let out an almost frightened ‘eep’ when she felt it and her face flamed red. “Something wrong, Lavi-chan?” Izuku asked impishly, making sure to keep his hand just above where was considered indecent on her back.

“N-Nothing.” She squeaked out, her breath starting to come hot and heavy as they moved through the dance floor. Her face was so red that Izuku almost felt bad. When their dancing finally ended, she was practically panting. Aika was almost as brazen as Akeno, again leaving him so hot and bothered, he was tempted to throw her over his shoulder and bring her upstairs.

Then it was Koneko’s turn, and he was surprised when the shorter girl began dancing with him almost as hot and heavy as Akeno and Aika did. “Oho?” He raised an eyebrow, watching as she flushed.

“You and Rias-sama were amazing.” She said quietly. “I wanted to thank you. I’ve never seen her so happy.”

He smiled down at her, “A hug would have done that.” He grinned impishly again. “Perhaps-” he said as he pulled her closer, making her face flame red. He whispered in her ear, “The pervert doth protest too much?”

“Shut up.” She mewled in embarrassment, and her face reddened even more when he turned up the heat like he was dancing with Rias or Akeno. Her normally inexpressive face was beet-red when they finally finished.

He should have known things were going a bit too well when he found Serafall Leviathan in his arms. “Rias-chan has taught you well.” She smirked wickedly at him as she rolled her hips against him. “You’re not going to try and seduce my little So-tan as well, are you?”

“Should I?” He asked back, knowing full well this tiny woman could utterly annihilate him. She giggled, “We’re friends. Not close friends, but friends. Don’t really spend enough time together for it to be otherwise.”

“Yes, even if they’re cute little rivals, So-tan and Rias-chan do have their own Peerages and desires to dedicate their time to.” Serafall agreed, “Are you the one who gave Rias-chan that fancy new ability?” He felt a privacy ward go up seamlessly.

He raised an eyebrow, “What makes you say that?”

She grinned as she backed away, before spinning into his arms backwards. ‘Impressive.’ She thought as she ground her ass on his crotch. “Oh, I’ve known Uncle Zeoticus and Aunt Venelana for centuries. They gave up far too easy on a pureblooded match.” She giggled, “And Sirzechs went from wanting to bite your throat to asking me to stand with him if necessary. I don’t think just her love for you and the power you displayed would have caused that.”

Izuku was glad he had asked the family who they could trust with their secrets. All of them had promised not to give anything away without his permission, but little miss magical girl in his arms was clearly shrewder than she portrayed herself as. ‘I suppose she wouldn’t be the Satan of Diplomacy if the opposite was true.’ He thought, before saying, “I was.”

Serafall pouted, “You shouldn’t give up secrets like that so easily.” She chided.

He chuckled, “I wouldn’t if Sirzechs hadn’t vouched for you. I got a list from him, though I’m not exactly planning on telling everyone about it.”

“Oh, should Rias be worried Miracle Levi-tan is stealing your heart?” Serafall asked playfully.

He chuckled back, “Perhaps Miracle Levi-tan should worry about herself?” He was oh so tempted to reach down a little more and grab her ass. It was a herculean task to restrain himself.

She grinned, “Oh I like you. You’re only allowed to call me Levi-tan from now on!”

“As you wish, Levi-tan.” Izuku thought it was cute.

She giggled as she dropped the privacy ward, “Be gentle with my So-tan, or I’ll have to turn you into modern art.” She said conspiratorially, before swapping away and almost shoving her sister into his arms.

“Hey Sōna.” Izuku chuckled, “Your sister seems fun.” This was definitely the least dangerous dance of the night, other than those first few.

She let out a sigh, “I love Onee-sama, but we’ll have to agree to disagree. She’s too much! This is the first time in two days she hasn’t been hugging me like a teddy bear.”

He snickered at how harried she looked, “How have things been over in Kuoh?”

“Fine.” Sōna said, “Thankfully not too many people have asked where all of you were. Asia-chan has been a darling, even if she refused to let me reincarnate her.” She said, and he could hear the pout. Neither of them noticed one of the male Devils stiffen and begin to listen in.

He nearly rolled his eyes, “Not sure why you expected any different. If anything I’d think she’d prefer to turn into an angel.”

“That’s the last thing we need. The angels being able to replenish their numbers.” She shuddered, “The stories I’ve heard of Michael alone…”

“Is he strong?” Izuku asked curiously.

“You tell me. Would you consider being able to hold back three of the four Satans on his own during the Great War strong?” She asked rhetorically.

Izuku twitched, “That’s… something alright. How do the originals compare to Sirzechs?”

“Oh, they’re weaker for sure.” Sōna said as he twirled her, “Sirzechs-sama is stronger than even the Morningstar himself was. So is Ajuka-sama. My sister isn’t quite to their level though. She would have had a tough time defeating Lucifer, though I think she would had edged out the original Leviathan, Beelzebub, and Asmodeus.”

“And Michael could hold all three back at once.” He let out a whistle. “That’s a little terrifying.”

“Quite.” She then gave him a little glare as she raised her own privacy ward. “And really. You turned Rias into a dragon?” She pouted, “How am I supposed to keep up with that?”

Izuku chuckled, “If you want a fruit of your own, all you have to do is ask.” Her eyes widened, “Come on now, Sōna, we’re friends, aren’t we? Maybe not close friends due to our other commitments, but friends nonetheless.”

“Really?” Her eyes widened, “Just like that?”

“Just like that.” He confirmed, “Though she wasn’t lying about the seizure and she was laid out for a quite a while and had to retrain herself after.”

“Ah, so that’s what caused that.” Sōna murmured.

He chuckled, “I think it would do you and Rias some good. I can’t be her rival, and I’ve always felt having a friend and rival to push yourself against is always for the best. I wouldn’t be anywhere near as strong as I am if it hadn’t been for Kacchan. And now Sairaorg has taken up the role for me.”

She smiled, “Maybe I’ll take you up on that. Thank you, Izuku.” Since the song was over, she gave him a quick hug before walking back to her Peerage.

With all that dancing, he was getting a little tired. He joined Sairaorg, “Yooo!”

“My man.” Sairaorg offered him a fist bump. “I see you’ve been having fun.” He chuckled.

“It’s been a good day.” Izuku agreed with a surprisingly evil grin. “How’d you like Rias’s little surprise?”

“Nothing little about that.” Sairaorg let out another smirk. “I hope you all are going to be sticking around for a bit. Now that Rias doesn’t need to hide anymore, I’m eager for another match.”

“Good. I’ve been antsy.” Izuku took a glass of wine and took a small sip. “Hell, Rias is eager to fight you too.”

“She did change up her entire fighting style, practically.” Sairaorg threw up a privacy ward, “Do Zoan fruits really have that much effect on their users?”

“Not her entire style.” Izuku denied, “She still prefers spellcasting. She just wanted to beat the stuffing out of Riser Phenex.” The two smirked, “But yes, Zoans change the user quite a bit. The fruits have their own wills. They’re the only ones that do. You can even give them to inanimate objects, and they become autonomous, sentient beings.”

“Bwuh?” His friend gaped, “Seriously?”

“Yup. Carnivorous Zoans tend to become a bit more bloodthirsty or, failing that, adrenaline junkies. Mythicals like her can have some pretty huge changes.” Izuku told him. He took another sip to hide his smirk, “You want one?”

He snorted, “Isn’t the Devil supposed to be the one doing the tempting?” The two shared a laugh, “… I don’t know. I’ve gotten this far off my own might.” Sairaorg muttered, “It almost feels wrong to betray that.”

“That’s the wrong way of looking at things.” Izuku said, “A Devil Fruit is a tool. You want to be the strongest, right? To earn your spot as a Satan.” His friend nodded sharply, “And I certainly think you’ll make it there, my friend. A fruit would only speed things up. You’d still have to train to make it your own. Rias couldn’t even fly when she first transformed. She tried and smashed her snout into a mountain.” The bigger man almost aspirated some of his wine. “And that was with a cheat sheet and experience flying as a Devil.”

“Hmm…” Sairaorg hummed noncommittally, “I’ll think about it. Certainly food for thought.” He drank the last of his wine, “To be honest, I’m more interested in Haki.”

“And I can’t wait to learn this Tōki of yours.” Izuku smirked, “It seems quite similar to Busōshoku.” He chuckled, “You know, I’ve never tried to bring out anything that big from the series, but maybe I should try to bring out Garp’s Battleship Punching Bags.”

Sairaorg laughed, “Wait, is that a literal thing? One of the characters used battleships as punching bags?” He laughed harder when Izuku nodded, a grin on his face.

The party seemed to be winding down, and Izuku caught Rias’s eye. “Well Sai, looks like we’ll have to continue our chat tomorrow. You sticking around?”

“Nah, heading home. I’ll be here in the morning though.” Sairaorg’s Queen caught his eye. “Don’t have too much fun.” He laughed as he walked away.

“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t.” Izuku smirked as he walked to his girlfriends. He wished he had more pairs of arms, because he could only grab Rias and a flushed Lavinia. “You girls have fun?”

“Oh, it was dreadfully boring after our fun ended.” Rias’s gaze was lidded as she pressed into his side. Lavinia squeaked as he palmed her ass, biting her lip to try and muffle it. “Thankfully, the night is young.” She murmured into his ear.

“Let’s not waste it.” He murmured back as they said their goodbyes and made their way upstairs. Sadly, Lavinia wasn't quite ready to join them yet, but he didn’t leave her at her bedroom door without something to stay awake over. The poor blonde looked almost drunk from how hot and bothered she was after he finished kissing her goodnight. He left Aika in much the same state. And then he, Rias, and Akeno made their way to the bedroom. Not much sleep was had that night.

The next morning, the group made their way downstairs and were surprised to see Ajuka sitting at the table having breakfast with Sirzechs and his parents. “Ajuka. Didn’t expect you to still be here.” Izuku blinked, “Good morning, everyone.”

“Good morning.” They called back.

“What brings you here today, Ajuka?” Rias asked as they took their seats and began filling their plates.

“That would be him.” Ajuka pointed at Izuku, “I’ve had some theories rocking around in the back of my mind. I’m quite eager to see if there is any merit to them.”

“I’d be happy to help, Ajuka.” Izuku nodded.

“Good. I’ve also had something I’ve been working on for you.” Ajuka took a sip of coffee, closing his eyes in rapture. “I knew after I saw the two of you that you were close. I’m quite eager to see if this little experiment of mine will work.”

“What experiment?” Izuku asked curiously.

Ajuka waved his question off, “That’s for later. Right now, I’m more interested in your original Devil Fruit.”

“That’s the Soul fruit, right?” Venelana asked, before giving him a gimlet stare, “I still can’t believe you turned my daughter into a dragon. I just about had a heart attack when I saw her.” She smirked, “I’m so proud, dear!” She gushed.

“Ehehehe…” Izuku rubbed the back of his head nervously at first. “She chose it. I just wish it hadn’t had such a severe effect when it happened.”

“Have you given any others?” Sirzechs asked.

“I have.” Izuku said, before waving at Aika, “I also gave Aika a mythical Zoan like Rias. Strangely, she wasn’t out for nearly as long as Rias was.”

“Possibly because she was originally human, possibly because she was just freshly reincarnated.” Ajuka said immediately, his eyes flashing, “Without more data it will be impossible to know. Please make sure to collect diagnostic data for me if I cannot be present the next time.”

“Of course.”

“Now, I’m told you consumed the soul of both a Devil as well as a Fallen, correct?” Ajuka asked, and got a nod, “Consuming the Devil gave you the potential to use magic, and consuming the Fallen gave you the ability to use Light. I’m curious to see if there is anything else you can do with that power.”

“How so?” Izuku was confused.

“You’re already expressing traits, so I’m wondering if you could push that any farther. Could you, for instance, push forward the Devil part of your soul now to modify your body? Essentially creating a ‘mode’ or form you can assume.”

Izuku blinked, “I… never thought of that. It wouldn’t do anything for humans, but Devil souls – and other ‘mythical’ souls – are bigger and heavier than human ones.” He well remembered what that first Devil soul had done to him. Perhaps it had modified him more than it appeared to? Between that soul and the Fallen soul, he certainly had become much more lustful than he had been. Greedy too. He already had Rias and Akeno, but it was clear to all of them that he wanted Lavinia and Aika too. He had also been this close to groping Serafall’s ass last night as well. “I can give it a try.” He said, and without waiting for a response, closed his eyes.

He searched out for the ‘Devil’ part of his soul, stoking it like a fire. He could tell that it was a bit different from Rias, Sirzechs, and the other pureblooded devils in the room. So he changed it a little, wanting to match his love. To his observers, he seemed to pulse before a magical circle in emerald-green with his signature soul motif in the center appeared over his chest. Instantly, everyone there knew it had worked. Wings grew from his back, and, to everyone’s shock, a tail grew as well.

“By the burning fields…” Zeoticus gaped as Izuku opened his eyes, “TWO pairs?!”

“And a tail?!” Akeno gasped, “But only Purebloods have tails!”

Izuku blinked and looked behind him, “Hey, it worked!” He wiggled his tail and almost blushed a little as he imagined him and Rias holding tails when they were in bed. He was such a degenerate. He then realized everyone was looking at him in shock. “…Did I do something wrong?”

“No.” Ajuka’s face went back to its normal passivity, “It looks like I was correct. You can change forms as well. You might just have the most malleable body and soul in existence.” He chuckled, “But this form of yours… Only Lucifer and all the other Devils who were originally Angels have more than one pair of wings. And only Purebloods have tails.” He chuckled, “You’ve exceeded my expectations!” He laughed.

“How long could you hold that?” Zeoticus demanded.

“Hold it?” Izuku blinked, “Indefinitely, I think. It’s not costing me any power.”

Sirzechs burst out laughing, “Oh, I wish I could see the faces of those uppity lords who turn their noses at reincarnated Devils when they find out about this. Maybe they’ll just save us some trouble and keel over.”

“Sirzechs-sama.” Grayfia let out a sigh as she grabbed her husband’s ear.

“Maybe it’s because I have Fallen in here as well?” Izuku said, before closing his eyes and stoking the Fallen part of his soul instead. The four bat-like wings behind him became feathery and his tail vanished. “Uh, yeah, looks like it.”

“I’d expect more than two pairs for how strong you are.” Venelana frowned.

“It could be an age thing as well as a power thing.” Rias suggested.

Izuku then resumed his human form. “Hmmm, judging by what I felt, Fallen Mode gives me the best control over Light. Devil mode gives me most control over magic. And human mode is the jack of all trades.”

Fascinating.” Ajuka grinned eagerly, “And this makes my little experiment even more pertinent and potentially entertaining.” He snapped his fingers, and several gasps rang out as a chess board filled with pieces appeared in front of him. “It was quite fun creating a set for a hybrid like yourself.” The chess pieces were pitch black unlike the ones that belonged to Rias. “I’m really curious to see what will become of anyone you choose to reincarnate. With your ability to transform into a full Devil, I don’t even have to rewrite the rulebook.” He held up a King, “The King Piece is one that nominally doesn’t exist.” He said seriously.

“Nominally?” Rias asked curiously. Zeoticus and Venelana looked intrigued as well.

“State secrets.” Sirzechs said sharply. “You understand what that means, yes?”

“No blabbing. To anyone.” Rias said, looking eager.

Her brother nodded, “Ajuka did create King Pieces once upon a time. But they were far too dangerous, for they did nothing more and nothing less than increase the user’s power by up to a hundred times.”

Rias’s face lost all trace of color, “B-but that’s insane! That could make me stronger than you, onii-sama!”

“Exactly.” Ajuka said, “Granted, it was up to a hundred times more. In most experiments, it was usually in between, and closer to ten times the original power. Still a huge boost… and still potentially dangerous if it got into the hands of any bad apples. They’ve long since been banned, and not many were made in the first place.” He held up the King once more, “This one is not like those. This merely makes you the King of your own Peerage, Izuku, and binds the properties of the other pieces. It would have been simple to give you a King Piece that turned you into a Devil…” He smirked, “But that would have been boring.”

Izuku chuckled, “And you hate boring, huh?” He eyed the King, “Is this really okay? I thought you had to be a High-Class Devil to earn a set and a Peerage of your own.”

“Oh, that reminds me.” Sirzechs said, before pulling a letter seemingly out of thin air and handing it to him. “There will have to be an official ceremony at some point, but for now…”

Izuku looked at the seal curiously, before opening it and reading it. His jaw slowly lowered, “H-High-Class?! But don’t I have to pass a bunch of tests and succeed in Rating Games for that?!” He handed it to Rias, who had a beaming smile on her face.

“Normally, yes.” Ajuka snorted, “But your accomplishments precede you. You cured the Sleeping Sickness, knocked out over a dozen devils of Low Class and even a few who were nearing Middle Class with nothing but the force of your own spirit, and hit Sirzechs with an attack powerful enough to judge you Ultimate Class. If anything, that promotion is a little understated. If it weren’t for your unusual situation you’d have gone straight to Ultimate.”

Izuku stared at nothing for a moment, “I’m a Margrave…” He mumbled weakly, to many chuckles from the surrounding Devils. Akeno gave him a hug in congratulations… and a pinch to get him focused again. He grabbed the King from the genius. “What do I do?”

“Just hold it up to your heart.” Ajuka said, “It will do the rest.”

Izuku did as commanded, and the piece absorbed into his body. He glowed, before his signature magic circle appeared beneath him as well as beneath his new Evil Pieces. A crackle of green lightning heralded the pieces all changing, jagged forks of emerald beginning to run through them. They also began to hover over the chess board and appeared much more ethereal than solid.

“D-Did-” Rias gawked, “Did they ALL become Mutation Pieces?!” She asked incredulously. She whirled around to Izuku, “Can you be normal for FIVE MINUTES?!” Izuku blushed, as somewhat nervous laughter rang out.

Ajuka poked at them a little and prodded each piece, “Hmm, yes and no.” He picked up a Pawn, “This one feels just like a regular piece, as do most of them.” He set it back over its square, and then grabbed the Queen, “This one on the other hand…” He chuckled, “It’s been decades since I’ve seen a mutated Queen.”

Sirzechs grinned, “We will watch your career with great interest.”

“Okay there, Palpatine.” Izuku chuckled, before grabbing one of his Bishops. “No time like the present.” He turned around, and the beautiful blonde next to Akeno blushed, “Lavi-chan?”

She stood and happily took his Bishop, “Thank you, Izu-kun.” She was still blushing as she held it to her heart.

“Now all you need to do is say a key phrase to make the magic of the piece work.” Rias told him eagerly, happy for her friend.

Simple was best. Izuku grinned as he recalled a manhwa he and Rias had been reading, “Arise.” The piece began to glow brightly and sank into her chest, before his magical circle appeared beneath her feet.

“Oh!” She let out a little moan as his energy flooded her every cell. She levitated into the air of her own accord and twitched, before a Light spear appeared in her hand as Fallen wings grew behind her. Two pairs, just like Izuku. Jaws dropped all around the table, with only Ajuka and Grayfia restraining their surprise. Another twitch had the Light spear vanishing, and her wings were replaced with Devil Wings. Finally, the light show ended, and she landed neatly on her feet. However, she was panting and blushing even more than before and even squirming a little. “That- That felt…”

“She looked like she was close to the Big O.” Aika muttered, feeling a little jealous.

Ajuka could only laugh, “Oh Izuku, you’re the gift that keeps on giving.”

They stayed in the Underworld for another few days, mostly so that Izuku and Sairaorg could spar, Lavinia could get used to her new ‘Devilhood,’ and Rias could show off for her family. Venelana was utterly delighted by how much her daughter had grown. Her beautiful redhead had always had a lot of potential within her, but it had been equally clear that it was nowhere near the potential her son had.

For a time, she had honestly been worried that Millicas would surpass her, even at his young age. Much of that worry stemmed from how much time Rias spent in the human world rather than in the Underworld, learning at her and Zeoticus’s feet. For many years now, Venelana had wondered if that hadn’t been simple escapism. She knew full well Rias dreaded the marriage with Riser, and while she had grown, it wasn’t at the frenetic pace she would have expected. Rias had never been weak, but she also hadn’t been as strong as her mother and father felt she should have been.

All of those worries had been wiped away, and while Venelana would have liked to say it was wholly on her daughter finally beginning to take things seriously, she knew full well that the catalyst was much more muscular. It wasn’t even just the direct upgrades he had given her. No, his real power seemed to be bringing out the best in those around him. Rias and her Peerage had never been lazy. No, they’d always been dutiful and determined… and yet for all of that duty and determination, they hadn’t grown as quickly as she would have hoped.

Being forced to actually exert herself to match Rias’s Power of Destruction with her own was an amazing feeling. And Rias had never even used her Extinguished Star, which Venelana knew she couldn’t match. She was so proud. “You’ve gotten so much stronger, daughter. I’m so proud!” She said as much.

“Thank you, mother.” Rias let out a deep sigh as they cooled down and wiped away the sweat. She looked over into the distance, “I see they’re still going strong.” She said dryly as another shockwave rippled the massive trees of the Gremory Territory.

Venelana sighed, “We should have put up a stronger Bounded Field. The landscapers will have their work cut out for them.”

And then they turned towards a flash of light and watched as a massive glacier met a golden bolt of lightning. The glacier shattered, turning into a tornado of icy shards. “That beau of yours really loves bringing out the best in those around him, doesn’t he? Akeno never trained so hard… and she certainly never used her Holy Lightning.” An explosion erupted in another direction, before being blown out by a small whirlwind. “Even Koneko-chan too.”

“It’s his nature.” Rias let out a sigh, “Honestly, he gave us the kick in the rear we needed. I… don’t want to think that we were just coasting but…”

“Oh, you absolutely were.” Her mother said. She wasn’t trying to be hurtful, but it was the truth. “The last time we sparred, I assumed Millicas would surpass you within the year.”

“Ouch.” Rias winced, though she really didn’t have an argument against it.

Venelana chuckled, “I’m glad to have been proven wrong.” She put her hand on her daughter’s shoulder, “But more than that, I’m happy that you’re happy.”

“Thanks mom.” Rias smiled back.

It had been a while since she called her that, and it made Venelana feel almost giddy. “So, what’s next for you all?”

“Well, tomorrow we go back to the human world. I think we’ve missed enough classes.” Rias giggled.

Venelana furrowed her eyebrows, “Isn’t it summer vacation for you now?”

Rias blinked slowly and seemed to be calculating mentally. “Oh dear, it is. Looks like we missed the end of the semester with all this.” She giggled, “Oh well. I’m sure Sōna’s more pissed about it than I am. In any case, this gives me time to meet the Himejima on better terms than our last meeting.”

“Hmm?” Venelana blinked, “What do you mean? You haven’t seen any of them since you were a girl.”

Now it was Rias’s turn to blink, “Did I not tell you and father?” The two stared for a moment, before Rias let out a sigh and rubbed the back of her head, “Right, we decided to handle it ourselves.” She shook her head, “Akeno’s cousin Suzaku was chosen by the Vermillion Bird.” Venelana’s eyebrow raised, “Himejima Suou decided that she was too… liberal… and fought the takeover. In the meantime, he organized that mass Stray outbreak in Kuoh a month and a half ago, specifically to get Akeno alone.”

“Your father would have razed their home to the ground for that!” Venelana hissed, her eyes glowing ominously.

“I’m well aware.” Rias replied dryly, “But it happened in my territory, and to my Queen. Sōna and I decided it was my problem to solve. And we solved it. Suou will never be a problem again, and Suzaku is officially their clan head. Now it’s just a matter of making it a more… formal alliance, I suppose.”

“The other four clans won’t be too happy.” Venelana said idly, “But those fools rarely are. I wish you luck.”

“We’ll make our own.” Rias grinned impishly.

“Home sweet home.” Rias sighed as they settled in.

“Yeah, the castle was a bit much.” Izuku chuckled, “That said, maybe we should find something other than a school clubhouse to live in. We’ll have to move after graduation, after all.”

“Oh, phooey.” Rias blew upwards, making her ahoge wiggle. “I had been trying not to think of that.”

“Sorry!” He chuckled, before pecking her on the nose.

“Ah, hello everyone!” Asia poked her head in and then entered, beaming. “How was your trip?”

“Hey Asia.” Izuku grinned and pulled the girl into a warm hug. Unlike many other girls in his life now, he seemed to have no non-platonic thoughts about the kind nun. ‘Maybe it’s because she sets off every ‘little sister’ and ‘daughter’ alarm bell I have.’ He pulled back and smiled at her, “Hope everything went well without us.”

Rias hugged her next, “And our trip was fantastic.” She smiled, “Even moreso than I had expected.” She let go and practically danced, “I’m freeeeee!” She cheered, and Asia giggled, joining her. It was the most adorable thing he’d seen in a while.

Asia smiled, “Sōna-san was really kind. She’s been helping me a lot on my Japanese.” She said proudly.

“I can tell.” Lavinia smiled at her, “You’re doing a wonderful job.”

“Go, Asia, go.” Koneko lazily pumped a fist with that deadpan expression of hers.

“You guys…” Asia wiped away a tear, “I don’t think I could ever thank you enough for taking me in…”

“We’re happy to have you.” Kiba said, patting her on the shoulder kindly before walking away. Izuku bit back a sigh. The words and his smile looked perfectly sincere, so why did he get the feeling that something was off?

Asia then turned to Izuku, “You feel a little different, Izuku-san. Did something happen?”

“Something like that.” Izuku said, before he had one set each of Fallen and Devil wings pop out.

Her jaw dropped, “Bwuh?!”

“The Evil Pieces have the power to modify the soul, and the body follows.” Izuku said, “But I have complete control over my own soul and can express different aspects whenever I want. Didn’t actually know that until Ajuka-sama suggested it though.”

“Oh wow!” Asia exclaimed, “Does that mean you could turn into an Angel that hasn’t Fallen?”

Rias almost tripped over her own feet. “Does it?!” She gaped, staring at him in shock.

Izuku blinked a couple times, “…Maybe? Presumably? I have no idea what that would feel like though. Quite obviously, I haven’t met any Angels… and I probably would never find one both pure and evil enough to not have any compunctions about consuming their soul.”

Asia had heard all about his power by now. She was actually having a great time reading One Piece herself. It was so entertaining! But even knowing it, she was so glad that he had rules and restrictions on just who he’d use that disconcerting power on. “Maybe you don’t have to? I can’t imagine Angels and Fallen feel THAT different if they are still capable of using Light.”

“Maybe.” Izuku winked, “Let’s put a pin on that though, before Rias and Akeno have aneurisms.” Asia looked at Rias and couldn’t help but giggle at the exaggerated look of strain on her face. “Oh, I also took a King Piece Ajuka made for me, so I have my own Peerage now. Lavi-chan was the first to join.”

Lavinia beamed and also joined Izuku in the mismatched wing club. Asia’s jaw lowered.

About a week of their vacation had passed, and Izuku had been hard at work. Now that he was at least partially a Devil himself, both Rias and Sōna had taken it upon themselves to begin educating him as a High Class Devil. He swore his brain was going to turn to mush with all the knowledge they were stuffing him full of. Especially for someone who had grown up with chopsticks, learning about all the different forks and spoons seemed asinine.

But he was dutiful and knew he needed to learn it all for Rias’s sake. She was a Duchess, after all, and had learned all of this before. He couldn’t say that he wasn’t more interested in doing contracts though. He had created his own summoning circle and had dozens of them printed. Rias and Akeno’s familiars helped distribute all of them, which reminded them all that Izuku would need his own familiar(s) soon.

He wasn’t sure how he felt about being able to increase his power just from completing contracts. Earning his own money, on the other hand, he was totally down for. And soon enough, he got a little ping for his very first contract. His summoner was a pretty, young woman named Hitomi from a nearby town that was really worried she had someone stalking her with nefarious intentions. She begged him for help getting rid of the guy, who always seemed to be nearby whenever she went out.

She had wanted him to just whack the guy for her, but he had come up with a far more creative solution. He had been practicing with runes for quite some time now and was confident he could solve her issue.

“Do you have any jewelry? Anything you wear all the time?” He asked Hitomi.

“No.” She pouted. She wanted to have a ring, but schools in Japan didn’t allow them. That was something even he had experience with back home but had hoped otherwise.

“Okay, I’ll be right back.” He cut a portal away and came back a few minutes later with a simple gold band. “Okay, let’s see if this works.” He used his Power of Imagination to enlarge it dozens of times over, until he could stand inside of it like it was a hula-hoop. Smiling, he got to work, carving rune after rune inside the band. It took him over an hour, but he eventually finished. “And done!” He said with a grin, floating it up so he could walk out and then shrinking it down. “That ring will stay invisible while on your finger, and no one will be able to feel it. It will also always be the perfect size and self-clean, so you never have to take it off.”

“Wow, that’s great!” Hitomi said, before tilting her head in confusion, “But how does it help me?”

“Because its primary function is that anyone who you consider an enemy or who has ill thoughts about you within a couple miles will find themselves unable to continue to even think about you.” She gasped, “The magic is nebulous enough that you don’t even need to know who they are specifically. So your stalker will no longer be able to approach you or even think of you. Every time he does, and especially if he means you ill, the ring’s magic will affect him. If he somehow has enough magical resistance to ignore that effect, then the ring’s second spell will come into effect, and it will be… unpleasant for him to say the least.”

“Oh, that’s amazing!” Hitomi leapt forward and hugged him as tightly as she could. “Thank you so much!” She put it on and felt a palpable sense of relief. Izuku could instantly feel it take effect, and his gaze snapped off to the side. “What is it?”

“You certainly had a stalker.” He muttered, “I could see the magic shoot off the second you put it on.” She paled, and he hurried to say, “He’s gone now. Or going at any rate.”

“Oh, thank you so much.” She said, hugging him again with a sense of relief.

“You’re welcome.” He chuckled, “I suppose our business is concluded then?”

“Yes, thank you again!” She said, and Izuku could feel as the contract competed itself. His power got an absolutely minuscule bump, which was a bit of a relief. She then wired over quite a decent sum of money to him as well. “It was well worth it.” She beamed, “There. I’ll never forget this, Midoriya-kun.”

“You take care, Hitomi-san.” He said and prepared to teleport away when she got bashful all of a sudden.

“Uhh, would you like to stay for some tea?” She asked shyly, twirling a loose strand of hair. He had felt some of her emotions and could feel the stirrings of lust now that she wasn’t so worried about her stalker.

“Sorry, but I’m taken, Hitomi-san.” He said kindly. His last sight as he vanished was her face falling and a pout gracing her lips.

He landed back at the school and flashed over to the roof. He decided to enjoy the night air for a little bit and relaxed, laying back and staring up at the sky. ‘Hmm, the constellations are the same. Guess a couple hundred years wasn’t enough to mess with them.’ He mused as he thought about all that had happened the past few weeks. ‘Still can’t believe I’m a noble. Kacchan would be shitting himself laughing.’ He chuckled to himself. After a few more minutes, he got up and flashed over to the clubhouse, seeing Akeno walking in front of him.

“Hey love.” Flashing forward again, he groped her from behind, earning a squeak of shock. “I didn’t know you were out on a contract too.” He gave her breasts semi-rough squeezes like he knew she liked before kissing her neck.

“M-Midoriya-kun…” A voice that was decidedly not Akeno’s rang out, and he went stiff in shock. She looked back at him with a lidded gaze, and he saw red eyes, not violet. “At least buy me dinner first.”

“WAH!” Izuku backed away like he had been burned, “Suzaku-san, I’m so sorry!” He bowed to her so deeply his face smashed into the concrete. The concrete lost. A large crack formed that was a few feet in length.

Suzaku goggled at the sight momentarily before she let out a giggle. She had been this close to summoning the Vermillion Bird and letting it go wild when she had been grabbed. It was only her recognizing his voice and the fact that he obviously mistook her for Akeno that kept that from being her reaction. Instead, she turned it back on him for some amusement. And now, looking at the hilarious sight of him breaking concrete with his face in apology almost had her in stitches. Even as she calmed her racing heart, she managed to get out, “Please Midoriya-kun, it was just an accident.”

His face was burning red as he got up. “Uhh, what brings you here?” He asked, while still mentally screaming, ‘HOW?! AKENO IS PART FALLEN ANGEL! THEIR BOOBS ARE EXACTLY ALIKE, RIGHT DOWN TO HOW PILLOWY-SOFT THEY ARE! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!

She smiled at him, “Well, it’s been a tough going back home for a while.” She gave him a chiding look, “As you should well know.” She said a little archly, “But things have calmed down and I finally had the chance to come speak with everyone in better circumstances.”

“Well, I’m sure Akeno will be happy to see you.” He smiled and gestured towards her, “Come on. I’ll show you where everyone is.”

“Thank you!” She followed after him.

“Suzaku-neechan!” Akeno beamed as she hugged her older cousin.

“Oh Akeno, I’m so happy to see you!” Suzaku beamed as they pulled apart. She turned to Rias with an impish grin, “Sorry for dropping in unannounced.”

“It’s no bother.” Rias smiled back at her, “Welcome to Kuoh!”

“It’s a pretty city.” Suzaku said and let out an evil grin, “I got a bit more exuberant of a greeting than I expected though.”

“Oh?” Rias and Akeno turned to Izuku as he groaned and let his head drop onto their coffee table. “How so?” Rias asked.

“Oh, Midoriya-kun gave me such a tight squeeze from behind.” She said, smirking as Izuku began to knock his head onto it. “He mauled my poor breasts.” She played it up.

“Oh, isn’t that interesting.” Rias said dryly.

“How could you assault my poor cousin, Izuku?” Akeno had a massive smirk on her face.

“Oh, come on! You two are exactly the same from behind! I didn’t notice a thing until I saw your eyes and heard your voice!” Izuku exploded, covering his face with his hands.

Half the room erupted in laughter. “There, there.” Lavinia patted him on the head.

“Baka hentai.” Koneko’s words were like an arrow into Izuku’s heart.

“How were they?” Ever the pervert, Aika needled him. He let out a despairing groan, much to their amusement.

They continued to giggle for a few moments before Suzaku cleared her throat. “Anyway, I want to congratulate you on your first Rating Game victory, Lady Rias.” Akeno quickly went to get some tea together.

“Oh, thank you!” Rias was surprised that she started off with that, “I didn’t expect a Himejima to have known about it. No offense.” She said quickly at the end.

“Oh, no offense at all.” Suzaku chuckled, “Part of the reason my uncle fought so hard to keep his position was that I’m a bit of a radical.” She winked, “I’m trying to end our isolationism and integrate with the wider supernatural community. Not really earning me a whole lot of friends.” She said wryly, “And part of that was bringing in some things from outside, such as entertainment. When I heard you and Akeno-chan were going to have your first Rating Game, I couldn’t not watch it.”

“Well, I hope you found it enjoyable.” Rias smirked lightly.

“Ufufufu, enjoyable and enlightening.” Suzaku said, “Many in the clan were being pains in my rear due to the way I ascended to become the clan head.” She said, and turned a dim glare on Rias, “Thanks for that, by the way.”

Rias winced, “I’d apologize, but you know we had to have a response to what Suou did.”

“I do.” Suzaku sighed, “But it has caused me no end of headaches. Many of my clan still believe me to be weak, and actually taking power has been a nightmare. Honestly, I’m fairly certain that so many of them only indulged me in watching your Game to learn your weaknesses for another attempt at you.” She grinned evilly, “And then you turned into a dragon and the lot of them got really quiet.”

“For the record.” Akeno matched her evil tone and grin as she came back with the tea, “Rias-sama could have done that back then too.”

“I’ll make sure to let them know.” Suzaku replied and took a sip. “Oh, this is delicious! Thank you, Akeno-chan!” She complimented her cousin. “Seeing exactly what they were up against cooled their enthusiasm to rebel really quickly. That attack of yours nearly annihilated that Paris replica. It made them realize that for as laughably easily you all defeated them, you were still going easy on all of us.”

“Oh, we absolutely were.” Izuku said, frowning a little. “I’m a little surprised they didn’t realize it then and there.”

“I’m sure they did but just didn’t want to acknowledge it.” Suzaku said, “But Rias’s attack made them acknowledge that the only reason we weren’t all dead was probably because Akeno-chan still cared about me.”

“Not untrue.” Akeno said. “And if Rias-sama hadn’t just acquired that new power of hers when the attack against me happened, we all would have gone there a lot sooner and a lot angrier than we did.”

Thank the heavens for small mercies.’ Suzaku held back a shudder at the terrifying information. “Well, I’m glad cooler heads prevailed.” She smiled at them again, “With a lot of the hotheads amongst us having finally let the hot air out, I was actually able to get some things done these past two weeks.”

“Ah yes. People under your leadership not questioning every decision you make.” Rias said dryly. “Well, I wish you luck in getting them fully under your command.”

“Thank you.” Suzaku bowed slightly to her, “And I hope to grow a friendship between us, with Akeno-chan here as our bridge. One of my decrees is that we will absolutely no longer be shunning family for being born with sacred gears or mixed heritage.” She let out a sigh suddenly, “We’ve already lost too many.” She said darkly, “And some of my uncle’s biggest supporters made nuisances of themselves when I announced it. It devolved into a fight and the Vermillion Bird got involved, burning three of them to ash.” Her face and expression were tight.

“I’m sorry.” Izuku leaned over and patted her on the shoulder, “That can’t have been easy.”

“No.” She wiped a single tear away, “The Heavenly Beasts rarely choose to bond with one of the five families. That’s why generations went by without one of our leaders being blessed. Usually they only do so when they sense that a member is the best fit to be leader and who has policies they feel are beneficial to the family. Having family attack me over it infuriated the Vermillion Bird, and I couldn’t talk it down to a lighter punishment.”

“That’s something you’re going to have to learn to square with as a leader, Suzaku-san.” Rias said gently. “It’s an unfortunate fact of our world, but mercy is the privilege of the strong. Sometimes you have to be hard, lest you invite further attacks against you.”

“A hard lesson to learn.” Suzaku said quietly, clenching her fists. “And not one I ever wished to.”

“You’re not alone.” Izuku said softly, “There’s obviously a lot you don’t know about me, but my Hero, my inspiration was someone who I thought was so strong that he could solve any problem without death. Yet even he had an enemy whom no prison could hold, and who he did his damnedest to put into the ground. Sometimes, the world just doesn’t let you be kind.” He sighed, “Sometimes, a person is so evil or so lost that there is no other option but to put them down.”

“I see…” She said evenly, “You’ll have to tell me about it, sometime.”

He smiled at her, glad that the awkwardness from earlier (even if it appeared to be totally one-sided) was past them. “Sometime.” He agreed.

Suzaku turned to Rias. “Rias, how did you acquire that power?” She asked curiously.

Rias chuckled, “Sorry Suzaku-san, but we’ll have to become better friends first before we let you in on that secret.”

“Ah.” Suzaku pouted a little bit, “Fair enough. I wasn’t aware it was a secret, though I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised.”

Rias grinned impishly, “You could always join mine or Izuku’s Peerage.”

Suzaku blinked, “Wait, you have one as well, Midoriya-kun? But I thought you were human? You still feel human even now.” Izuku grinned and went into Devil mode and then Fallen mode in quick succession. Suzaku’s jaw dropped just about to the floor. “Wh-what?! How is that possible?!”

“Like Rias, I have a power of my own.” Izuku chuckled, “Beyond all the fun stuff I showed you in our spar, my primary power is supremacy over the soul. Pele is an elemental called a Homie that I created using a large portion of my soul to give life to a volcano.”

“That’s… that’s unbelievable!” She stammered, staring at him in shock.

“Thank you.” He smiled over her awe, “And it means that anyone who I reincarnate with the Evil Pieces that bonded with me has a much more limited version of that. They can’t make Homies the way I can, but they can do this.” He looked over at Lavinia and nodded at her. She stood, and within a blink, was standing there as a Devil.

“That’s… that’s incredible! I was sitting right next to you both and I never would have guessed! You both still felt human!” Suzaku exclaimed, “I’ve never even heard of such a power!”

“Ufufufu, our Izuku is special.” Akeno winked at her.

“Clearly.” Suzaku giggled again, “I don’t suppose that means you have a power to pull out of your hat, dear?”

“Hmm, maybe I should try to acquire one for myself.” Akeno said, tapping her lips in thought.

Suzaku pouted, “Ugh, you’re making me so curious now. I don’t know that I want to become a Devil or… whatever Midoriya-kun and his Peerage happen to be at any given moment.” That earned her a few chuckles, “And even if I did, I’m not sure my partner would allow it.” Her voice went deadpan, “Aaaand the clan would probably lose their minds.”

“Quite obviously, it isn’t for everyone.” Rias shook her head in amusement. “But even if you don’t join one of us, you are still welcome here. I’d never deny Akeno the chance to reconnect with you. And who knows what will happen from there.” She shrugged.

“Who knows indeed.” Suzaku agreed, “In any case, I think I should make my way back.”

“You’re leaving already?!” Akeno exclaimed, her eyes going wide.

“Sadly, it’s for the best. My reign isn’t exactly stable yet.” Suzaku sighed before turning to Rias. “I was actually hoping to form a contract with you, so that I might be able to teleport back and forth between here and the Himejima clan home rather than having to make the trip whenever I want to see Akeno-chan.”

“Well, I can certainly help you with that.” Rias smiled broadly, “Though, no offense, only you will be able to use amongst your family unless they are accompanying you.”

“One hundred percent understandable.” Suzaku agreed to that. “What would you like in return?”

Rias shook her head, “We’ll iron out the details later. It will probably take me a few days to design it. Lack of time and you lack Devil Magic to use our usual teleporter.”

“That’s fine with me.” She then took a cell phone out of her purse, “How my clan wishes to live without things like this, I’ll never understand.” She muttered as she handed the phone to Rias, who filled out her contact info. She then handed it to Akeno, who eagerly did so as well. And then, smiling impishly, she gave it to Izuku as well. “You still owe me that dinner.” She winked at him. He started to laugh as he filled out the info.

“Did I miss something?” Rias asked.

Izuku was still chuckling, “When I had my little… incident outside, she told me to buy her dinner first.” He reddened a little.

Rias let out an exasperated sigh. ‘Well, that’s another one.’ At this point she was forced to wonder just how many women would end up in her husband’s harem.

“Hmm, we’ll have to get you a good reservation then. Only the best for Suzaku-neechan.” Akeno immediately went along with it, a salacious grin on her face.

“Thank you.” Suzaku accepted the phone back and then winked at Akeno, “Dancing too, if you please, Akeno-chan.”

“Of course!” Akeno made a show of looking offended. She then hugged her cousin, “I really did miss you, neechan. I’m so glad things have gotten better.”

“So am I.” Suzaku squeezed back. She then reached inside her purse one more time. “I also brought something for you.” She said gently, pulling out a small gift box and handing it to her physical twin.

“Oooh, a present!” Akeno smiled, “Thank you, neechan. I wonder wha-” She fell silent as she opened it up and peered inside the box. She looked utterly stunned.

Rias and Izuku were both alarmed as she let out a shuddering breath. “Akeno? What’s wrong?” Her King asked.

Akeno opened her mouth, but nothing came out. She lifted the item inside the present box up, cradling it gently in her hand.

“A music box?” Izuku asked gently.

It looked like it had been used quite a bit. It certainly wasn’t new. Trembling lightly, Akeno activated it, and the tinkling sound of Chiisai Aki Mitsuketa began to fill the room. “Oh…” She whispered as she began to cry. She gently, reverently put the box down as it continued to play, and she threw her arms around Suzaku and buried her face into her cousin’s chest.

“There, there…” Suzaku said gently, smiling widely. She had tears in her eyes as well as she gently brushed Akeno’s hair, “It was… one of the few things I managed to save. I’m… I’m so sorry it took me so long to get it back to you.”

“No! Y-You saved it, neechan. You saved it!” Akeno’s voice was muffled, but they could still hear her clearly. “I… I thought it was gone forever.” She pulled back, hiccupping and wiping her tears. “Thank you. Thank you so much.

“You’re welcome.” Suzaku pressed her lips to her cousin’s forehead.

“You never told me about this…” Rias said softly, “If I knew…”

Akeno shook her head after disengaging from Suzaku, “It was… it was something mama got for me.” She said softly, “One of the things we both loved. It’s what made me fall in love with music, so long ago… But when we got attacked…” All of a sudden, Rias’s Queen was buried between bodies hugging her.

Rias was tearing up as well. She turned to Suzaku, “For making my Queen this happy, Suzaku-san, our first contract is free.”

“I didn’t do it for that,” Suzaku replied gently, “But thank you.” The two joined the hug pile with the joyously weeping Queen.

Well, this has been a LONG time coming. It’s pretty difficult to drum up any MHA interest for my muse nowadays. BUT I still love this fic and am hard at work. This was a bit of a cool down chapter, but I got a fair amount done in it!

I’m also continuing to work on it and am nearly done with chapter ten as well. I’ve been reading the light novel (which is SUCH a slog. I HATE first-person perspectives in storytelling. Especially when there are multiple POVs.) and it’s been helping me focus on this fic and the things I want to do.

So, already a few differences. I didn’t like how most of the original story was basically stuffed into a year at best. We’ve already hit the summer break and Kokabiel is nowhere to be found. As of right now, I’m planning to do that later in the Fall and do Kyoto in the next arc instead.

Anyway, hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Next month’s day one chapter will PROBABLY be chapter 10. Lets see how long I can keep the muse focused here.

Thank you for posting this today! Hell of a way to end off my birthday. The reaction of her family and the other devils were funny! As for Izuku’s new ability, it’s so obvious in hindsight I was a little bit annoyed. And new harem members acquired. Let’s go! Anyways, onto Excalibur arc! Edit: Didn’t read the A/N till now. ONTO THE KYOTO ARC lol

Sad that Izuku doesn’t get to slap the zealous brain rot out of Xenovia yet but I shall patiently wait and enjoy this work of art in the meantime. Wonderful chapter, friend.

Loghead101

Yooooooo! We’re doing Kyoto early! Bring in the fox MILF! Izuku needs those legendary mammeries!! Always love a new chapter of this, my favorite out of all your fics. I’m sorry to hear that it’s hard to get some love for MHA but hopefully DxD is enough to power the muse. Also a nitpick that is really bugging me. At the start a Lord Asmodeus was mentioned. Asmodeus is one of the clans that make up the original 4 Satans and the only known member of the Asmodeus clan is part of the Old Satan faction and he would most certainly never be a part of the party. He would more or less tried to burn it down if he was there. If you need a different name then you could use any of the other games of Goetia like Dantallion, Bael, Paimon, Barbatos or others like that. Love the chap man and can’t wait for more!

Primordial Vortex

So I kinda chose Asmodeus because they were cuntish enough to potentially be war hawks but not enough to be kill on sight. I figured maybe an unknown asmodeus. Honestly, I could have gotten rid of that part of the scene but felt like *someone* should draw Sirzechs's ire

Eragon Gravelyn

i like the MHA universe but Base Line Izuku is insufferable. I love when writers make him into a more realistic person, and DXD is a GREAT universe to use as a hot pot so i read this story when ever it comes out

dragonkw213 .

Sweet and for the next ARC your Bringing in Animes Best MILF Vixen as well YES! There is a God! Can't wait!

So happy to see this get an update, since it's my favorite of your stories. I also didn't like that everything took place in a year. It felt like the author was scared to let the main cast grow up. It will be interesting to see what Sona picks. Her whole thing is strategy and breaking things down, so I can see her being really good with most "weak" fruits. Imagine her with the spring fruit and using every type of spring not just compression. Seeing what Lucci can do with the Leopard kind of makes me want to see Sai get it because it would kind of fit his Regulus armor.

Primordial Vortex

So I had already decided that Sona would need some power too. She also wants to keep up with her rival. Won't spoil, but it is a mythical :haha: Sai will not be getting a zoan. I have crack in mind for that one.

Orchamus

YATTA!!\°^°/ Only wish we had gotten to see Dio getting smushed too! And rofl, if Ajuka was a woman she'd be after Izu at this point too for all that DATA!

DarthGhengis

I get you on the MHA stuff. Had two stories I was working on until canon happened and anything resembling inspiration hit a brick wall. On top of that, haven't found as many new stories to fall into.. which does make me enjoy this update even more. Did not see the Peerage thing coming, which in retrospect I feel I kind of should have.. either way, great idea and I am quite curious to see how his Peerage will develop! Also like the idea of Izuku managing to do his own contracts now.. Unexpected twist with him having a "devil mode" and a "fallen mode" - I like it! Do wonder if that'll cause some mischief done the line.. Anyway, enjoyed the update! Thanks for posting.

Primordial Vortex

I've got something HILARIOUS planned for later in the story to do with the 'modes' Also, that's always sad to see. Emerald Phoenix is just completely stalled out because I practically don't want to deal with some of the fights for the rest of the tournament. Usually I can just push through unplanned stuff but this time just feels different...

W1lliam

... i know it to be unlikely but i feel like if any power is accepted by (and possibly be able to be merged into) the Vermillion Bird, its the Mera Mera no Mi, so that's the only one i can see Suzaku getting, if she gets one at all.

Eli

a most excellent chapter, I loved the reactions to dragon mode Rias. and the fluff was positively exquisite overall a chapter par excellance

savitar

I can't say I blame you for losing your muse with MHA. I think it's one of the mangas that has destroyed a story with potential the most, and considering Naruto, that's saying something. Frankly, the look on everyone's faces when they see Rias the Dragon would have been something worth recording for posterity. Izuku's transformation into a demon was something that caught my interest, since since he consumed souls that weren't human, I wondered what he got out of it. I vote for Sairaorg to get the Gura Gura no mi. And honestly, something I want to see is the hero faction crushed. Thanks for the chapter.

DragoulM

I'm just wondering, but since izuku is in another universe and there can only be one type of devil fruit in each world, does that mean that he can give the Fruits that were used in the mha world to DXD people?

Michael Friede

Really happy to see this back! Fantastic work as always

Serpens Kaos

Given Izuku his own 'Semi Evil' pieces is cool, only seen that before in Broken Dreams with ichigo's Chaos pieces.

StrevHd

Since Haki will eventually be coming to the world I wonder if all the Hero Faction will have Conquer's. Since they have literally inherited the spirt and will of the greatest heros in history or myth, it would make sense for all of them to develops it.

Broden Hammel

Just a question about Izukus abilities, can he turn Devil Fruits into homies? Like turning the Suna-Suna no mi into a dust devil homie. Or what about feeding his Homies a Devil Fruit? like give Indra and Pele the Goro-Goro no mi and Magu-Magu no mi respectivley. Also with Kyoto coming next it would be funny if Izuku showed up with the Inu-Inu no mi:Model Kyuubi no Kitsune as a Homie and how the Yokai would react to that. I also want to see Diodora get scammed by Izuku, who instead of giving an actual Devil Fruit, gives him a S.M.I.L.E. fruit that just utterly distorts him into what could be confused as a Stray Devil.

Tyler

I love this story and your emerald phoenix one and am fuckin hungry for more chapters and more smut scenes as they are top tier lmao

Craig Jacks

I want the "Hero" Faction to face some actual consequences too, not just disbanding after their strongest members got caught, only to come back later and do a decent act of good because someone forced them to, and not because they truly regretted their actions (since they were even strong-armed into apologizing to Yasaka), just that they lost. And nothing would make them reconsider what "being a hero" is than seeing how an ACTUAL Hero acts.

Craig Jacks

Man, I do feel for Riser here after that one-sided beat-down, and I hope he does eventually bounce back from this. After getting past his possible trauma of gigantic crimson-colored dragons, and maybe Rias herself. You've also basically confirmed that the Old Satan Faction clans, like the Asmodeus clan, are still a part of noble society, just not as powerful as they were (though are VERY interested in what they saw Rias do). And since nearly every Faction likely saw this Rating Game, I bet they'll all be clamoring to figure out how the Devils gained new powers, if only to prevent conflicts with them. No one wants a giant dragon nuking whole cities after picking a fight they shouldn't have. Heaven & the Grigori will have a panic attack if they learn that Izuku, even after being (technically) reincarnated as a Devil, has access to Holy light, and he hasn't even reached the full potential of his powers. I really love this portrayal of Izuku Midoriya being as intelligent and talented as he is in MHA, just with greater self-confidence, and still having vulnerabilities that make him so relatable, since people always need help to become the best version of themselves. Its also funny how Izuku just being himself is already achieving Issei Hyoudou's "Harem King" dream, but he is succeeding without even trying to do that. Izuku is smart in revealing his secrets to a few trustworthy people - with Rias admitting that she knows "someone" who can grant powers, but only that person chooses who gets what - even offering Devil Fruits to Sona & Sairaorg, and hopefully Izuku will teach those 2 and their Peerages the 6 Powers & Haki soon. Plus Izuku is finally doing Hero work (with extra steps) again! I can't wait to see who joins his Peerage - with ALL Mutation Pieces! He can recruit just about anyone he wants, even Asia if she agrees to it, since she could become a human/Angel, and switch between forms at will! And I hope things go well with Akeno & Suzaku, now that things have cooled down (and the Himejimas know they're only alive because of Akeno). Love the chapter, this series is my fav, and I look forward to the next one! :D

Craig Jacks

I'm surprised that when Izuku looked Diodora in the eye, he didn't get the feeling that his soul was the equivalent of a backed-up toilet after a particularly nasty Taco Tuesday. I hope he gives that scumbag a worthless SMILE Fruit that doesn't even help him, like the giraffe one where the whole giraffe body comes out of his back with him being the "head". And if Izuku goes to Kyoto, I think it'd be better if he gave Yasaka or Kunou (Aramaki) Green Bull's Mori-Mori (Woods-Woods) no Mi so they can control the nature there, maybe even the natural power flowing in Kyoto better.

Craig Jacks

I doubt anyone in the "Hero" Faction, besides maybe Cao Cao, would have wills strong enough to possess Conquer's Haki. When the going gets tough, those "heroes" flee like mischievous brats after pulling a prank, just with WAY more collateral damage that someone else has to clean up. They'll most likely gain standard Haki (Armament & Observation), but they'd run into the same issue All For One did; they're too selfish, overconfident and battle-hungry to use their Sacred Gears to compete with anyone like Izuku, Rias, Akeno, or anyone who has struggled and grown to develop their willpower. A bunch of scheming 'children' who want to pick fights because they have something to prove is inferior to the solidified, unflinching will of a person who has an actual reason to fight. The "Hero" Faction has strong abilities, but they themselves are not strong, not when they only win fights because they overanalyse their opponents and strictly target their biggest weaknesses to win.

Craig Jacks

I wonder if, after figuring out how to change himself into a pure Angel, Izuku reincarnates Asia, and only has her do jobs to be a good Christian and spread God's name, so if someone from the Church - Asia's 3 friends - comes around, she reveals that while she is part of a High-class Devil's Peerage, she is both a human and an Angel. Then Izuku can watch as Xenovia's brain microwaves itself in her skull trying to comprehend what she saw. Because if Katsuki Bakugo taught Izuku anything, its that hitting someone is nowhere near as satisfying as proving them wrong. >:) And if Izuku does that, I think a good fruit for Asia would be the Barrier-Barrier Fruit, so Asia can protect herself and heal others at the same time, since Twilight Healing should work even if her fingers are crossed. :)

Craig Jacks

So I've been thinking of something that could happen in Kyoto for a bit, and I'm wondering something… What if Yasaka dies? I hate myself for thinking this, but it would be great story-wise if Yasaka died as a result of what the "Hero" Faction (if they do appear) does, and since Izuku now has 2 methods to bring her back - his Evil Pieces or the Yomi-Yomi (Revive-Revive) no Mi - he can make Yasaka stronger - with no 'devilish' ulterior motive - and forge a friendship with the Youkai factions as a kind human and true hero. I'm not sure of the extent of the damage Yasaka took when the "Hero" Faction mind-controlled her in the Light Novel, but they definitely didn't care if it was fatal as she was just a sacrificial pawn to them. And if this ends up damaging Yasaka's soul, then Izuku likely has the power to repair it, and if he uses his soul powers to save Yasaka, then she, as a spiritual being, may even be able to 'see' into Izuku's soul and see who and what he really is if he does, so he'd have to make a 'deal' with Yasaka to keep her quiet. This has been bouncing around my brain for days now that I know the 'Kyoto Incident' is next.

Cha0sniper

...... Izuku's gonna reincarnate Gabriel as his Queen, isn't he. I can't think of another character that *he's* likely to need a mutation Queen for (other than maybe Ophis?) lol, and since anyone he reincarnates gains his ability to swap between forms she wouldn't even have to give up being an Archangel for it.

Cha0sniper

One quibble: only his Queen is a mutation piece, as confirmed by Ajuka. The rest are regular pieces with a unique appearance but no greater power. Rias only *thought* they were all mutation pieces because of the appearance change.

Craig Jacks

That's honestly not a bad idea since that would make Gabriel practically immune to 'falling,' and that is always a plus for the Angels, but Izuku would have to really sell this as being a non-heretical option for the Angels to allow. But I know another character that Izuku may give his Queen Piece to, since their power is unique and dangerous in the wrong hands, and it absolutely ends up in the wrong hands when they were mind-controlled by an enemy. You could be right, or Izuku could give Gabriel something like the Woshu-Woshu (Wash-Wash) no Mi, which allows the user to literally 'wash/cleanse' the evil from a person's body, which could just make Gabriel incorruptible.
