MHA Chapter 56: First Place (Patreon)

"Now onto the presentation of the medals! Presented by none other than our very own hero All-" "I have arrived to give out the medals!" "-Might!"

I struggled to hold in an amused exhale of my nose as I watched All Might and Midnight comically talk over each other during the celebration ceremony, looking quite awkward as they did so, likely not having practice since All Might could only hold muscle form for so long.

We were currently in the awards ceremony, with me standing on the top of the 1# podium with a sense of accomplishment, slightly below and next to me was Bakugou who kept sending death glares that promised nothing but pain in my direction as she stood on top of the 2# podium.

I had no delusion that she would try to attack me the next time she saw me, I may have teased her a bit too much and had to escape the infirmary using blink while she chased after me, only being stopped by Aizawa and restrained.

Well, bullying her was just a way to vent my frustrations. She was a good target and her reactions were always entertaining to watch. Especially since I was strong enough to be able to avoid confrontation with her.

And slightly below her in the third place podium was Shoto who also kept glancing at me, although less with murderous intent and more of an analyzing eye. Seeming like he had something to say but refrained from saying it.

Shaking my head I watched as All Might presented the medals, hanging one around Shoto's neck first and giving him a prep talk that seemed pretty genuine before giving him a quick hug.

I smirked internally as I watched Endeavour get pissed as hell in the audience as his son was hugged by his self-proclaimed rival.

After that it was Bakugou's turn with All Might congratulating her on her competitive spirit, guts and skills etc. etc. before giving her a quick hug and hanging the silver medal around her neck. To my surprise Bakugou seemed to accept this with relative calm, not throwing up a fuss on anything but staying silent. I noticed her clench her silver medal on her hand and look at me with determined eyes before my vision was covered by the behemoth of muscle that was All Might.

"Congratulations on taking first place young Hakari, I want to congratulate you on your spirit of sportsmanship and competition. And how you strove to bring out the best of everyone in front of you regardless of who you were, disregarding your previous grudges. I'd like to thank you personally even. So please accept this medal, you have more than earned it." Saying those words he put the gold medal around my neck and gave me a quick hug.

Huh... that felt oddly nice, last time I got a hug was the morning before my father got crashed into. Now that I think about it, All Might would actually be around the age my dad would have been if he were alive.

"Thanks All Might." He nodded and turned around and gave a speech about how anyone could have been on this podium as long as they worked to strive for their goals but I couldn't pay attention as my lips quirked into an almost stupid grin seeing the panel in front of me.

Man, I would be so hard right now if I wasn't in front of tens of thousands of people cheering for me. This bounty would surely serve me well. Still, I maintained my monk-like patience and managed to persevere until the ceremony ended and we were let go.

I quickly powerwalked my way and used Seek Guidance to find my way to Toga who was also coming to meet me. She raised a hand to greet me with an excited expression.

"Yo! Hakari-kun you were so cool bac- whe!?"

Not listening I quickly wrapped my arms around Toga and lifted her up before powerwalking away with her in tow while she made cute noises of confusion.

I had 2.5 Platinum Tickets, I needed my daily dose of Toganium to roll these babies.

Bringing her back to my changing/waiting room I sat down on the couch and wrapped my arms around the confused yet happy Toga. I held her tightly in a hug.

"Eeh~? Not that I'd ever complain but what brought this on Hakari-kun?"

I buried my face in her hair and rubbed my cheek against her, trying to get the biggest dose of Toganium I could gather and roll the hardest I could.

"I am about to get some really strong abilities, so I need all of the luck I can get. And there is no better source of luck for me than you." Toga gave me a shaky smile with a blush at my honesty, turning around and wrapping her arms around me.

"G-Geez, don't fluster me like that Hakari~. But if you say so, then I'll give you as much luck as I can. I hope you get something good." She buried her head in the crook of my neck and I felt it.

Time to roll.

Huh, well, it is a rare so it's statistically bad but compared to the useless Rare's I would get from the silver gacha I much prefer a useful for me but statistically bad quirk compared to an epic that would be useless for me.

Besides, with my immense vitality and regeneration, this made me a very good support. Healing quirks were incredibly rare and having more recovery was always good.

Hell to the fuck yeah.

Without hesitation, I picked the instant transmission. That was a no-range limit teleport and with my load of sensory abilities, I could teleport across cities, with my speed I could take a trip across cities in dino form to mark them so I could use Instant Transmission to cross borders like it's nothing. It literally made me uncatchable. Even if I were to be imprisoned I could simply teleport to another location.

Yeah, Candy Paramecia was good but it didn't give me a lot of coverage that I already didn't have.

I hugged Toga even tighter as she tilted her head.

"So, how did it go Hakari-kun? Was my luck good?"

"The best."

She giggled into my neck before looking up into my eyes and smirking.

"Then we should celebrate right~? You know since we are already in a private room and all~"

"Hmm, I don't know, Aizawa did call us into class for an after-sports festival briefing." Toga pouted but came even closer to my face.

"I'm sure we have some time alone. Hobo-sensei is never in a hurry after all. Or are you gonna just tease me and leave alone Hakari-kun~? I'm so worked up."

Dammit, if she looks at me with those eyes I lose my ability to refuse.

...I'm so fucked.

"Alright, I guess we have the time for a single round." Toga pumped her fist in celebration while I shrugged my shoulders.

Not like I was ever against pushing Toga down for some funtime.

It definitely did not end in one round. We only managed to get to class because I was able to clean us with Micro Hydrokinesis and teleport us to class with Instant Transmission to the surprise of everyone else just moments before Aizawa arrived.

Not that he had much to say. Just a standard "Congrats everyone, you managed to do well". Along with informing us that we would be getting our internship stuff the day after as tomorrow was set to be a vacation day so that everyone could rest up after the tournament.

After the briefing had ended I started walking back home with Toga and the girls, yes, walking because I had no reason to rush getting back home with Instant Transmission no matter how hard I itched to use it. I did not have much to do at home anyway, I much preferred spending time with Toga and taking some fresh air while walking home but what I did not expect from my walk was...

"Mommy! Mommy look! It's the cool Blue-Fire-Teleporting-Armour-Dinosaur-Martial-Arts man!"

"Whoa is that him?"

"That's him, the guy who ranked first in the sports festival!"

"Holy shit is that Hakari Kotaro? I loved your fights man, can I get an autograph?"

"Whoa, he is even hotter in person, I'd love to have those big arms wrapped around me." I would be flattered if this voice did not sound suspiciously masculine.

I got tons of gazes, whispers and a constant flow of people approaching me. Asking for autographs, selfies, so many eyes on me felt uneasy. In hindsight I should have expected this after winning in what was the equivalent of the Japanese quirk Olympics. But even so, the attention still felt a tad overwhelming.

Mina noticed my dilemma and teased me by nudging me with her elbow.

"So~ how's it feel to be a big celebrity Hakari-kun? Feel good? You are probably plastered over all of the news too, lucky you."

I gave her a nasty glare as she giggled while Setsuna shrugged her shoulders, I had already introduced her to Mina the day before and they got along a bit too well for my liking, their mischievousness and bubbliness meant headaches for me, especially when Setsuna would get Mina to collude in her plans. I can only pray to the gacha that all three wouldn't collude together with Toga, that was a headache that couldn't be measured.

Still, even if it is a headache, I couldn't say I minded it.

Surprisingly, the day after was fairly uneventful, I hung out with the girls, which were Toga, Setsuna, Mina and Toru to play around town with my new instant transmission quirk. And by playing around town I meant taking everyone out on a shopping trip across Japan.

Of course, helping them pick outfits and fooling around made me mind the whole ordeal a lot less, even if thanks to Sartorial Savant I was a fashion diva, it could get really draining. This whole ordeal was of course funded by Setsuna who had her rich parents, of course, I still made sure to pay my own share because Nezu had given me an allowance for winning the tournament. Around 500,000Yen to treat myself to something nice.

Then, after tomorrow there was school and as expected, today was the day I was both looking forward and not. Sitting in class, I was chatting with Toga before Hobo-sensei Aizawa walked in with a serious expression, and after quieting down the class he revealed what he had planned for today.

"Today, we are holding a rather special Heroics Informatics Class."

He put the folders in hands his down on the desk and looked over the class who swallowed their spit nervously, special from Aizawa most often meant surprise test. But then he elaborated on what he meant.

"Today, you will all be picking your hero names."

A/N: Hakari lucks out once again, to remind you, the average of a Platinum is an Elite, not an Epic, he is lucky af. Especially since he has one of the best teleportation abilities in the gacha, there is no such thing as long distance relationship anymore, at any time he can teleport between continents as he likes. Life Share is also incredibly good thanks to his regeneration. What did you guys think about these frankly great rolls? Any ideas on how to use them?

It's finally names and internships time, and I think you guys can pretty handily guess whose internship Hakari is going to be taking. It can't possibly be a short muscular rabbit mommy, can it?
