Biscuits!

JDPEI97

First time being busy at work has paid off. Getting to read Two chapters back to back

Daniel Everest

Great chapter hope she becomes a regular, she's dedicated

mhaj58

So many times I’ve seen the dark side of the story, it’s nice to see the bright side of heroism. Glad Jason made it in time to save Delia

Bingus McCready

Shirt is on one. I think this may be one of the best chapters written chapters in the whole series. That little “as a girl” motif is killer. TFTC!!!!!

Molly

Aw Delia - you did such a good job. Someone said something on Monday about how well-crafted these graceful little snippets are — just enough insight into a character to make you care about a person that never was… i haven’t slept in 2 days so I’m a little maudlin, but I feel so proud of her.

Reed M

goddess that “you did good” almost made me cry 🥹

Skade

Me too. Echoes of Jason standing against the elemental in that village, so long ago and a world away.

mockery jones

best chapter in a while.

FabianTheGreat

Seeing Jason's, positive impact on people growing up 🌟

Zack

It's nice to see Jason being seen as a hero instead of just a scary monster in the dark.

Jacob Goodrich

This is what i came to say. Also Jason being the hero is exactly what earth needs and what his "identity" needs to make jason loved by everyone again

ReadingObsessed

I love how every chapter of this story makes me feel.

David Petersen

Right? She has maybe 1/3-1/2 of this chapter, and already I feel proud of her and want to see more of her.

Nick

"you did good" might be the best line in this entire story. Seriously, I've got chills

JonO

I honestly hope she gets a fabulous scar and title for that. She'd have to have at least a gift evolution. I like this girl and want her to thrive.

Chiqui Joy

Right!? And who doesn’t want to hear those words from their hero? Ah, satisfaction ❤️

JC Weiss

Dang it Shirt, I wasn't planning on crying today.

John Collier

No its definitely ‘did good’ might be an Aussie thing but ‘done well’ or ‘did good’

James Culbreath

This time I read this with Pants!

Justin Hunsberger

This might be the best chapter I have read in awhile. But maybe that is just because of all the real life iron lions I am starting to see circle us in the world. Resistance takes many forms.

Dylan Alexander

In correct English it’s do well. Look it up. You’d say ‘I did well’. instead of ‘I did good’.

David Collins

Most excellent chapter

Joanna

Ahh! Some good, old-fashioned heroing! Just a little, as a treat. ;)

Pierce

This is what this story is about, when it’s at its best. Heroes getting to be heroes The little ones like Delia and the big ones like Jason. Sophie cleansing cities, the rest of the team for sure being awesome And just a little snark from a guy named Barry

Jeff

Oh yeah that's what I'm talking about. I love me some monster hunting

Walter Kimberly

Wow what a chapter, that was amazing, thank you Shirt

Soli116

This is modern prose. Jason would say "You did good."

Evan Fog

I’m sorry but is shade a reds fan?

Iron Knight

Weird time for it to rain I think you mean.. I had the same freak storm happen to me as well.

Joshua Konieczka

You’re being needlessly pedantic. Word choice in dialogue is often attributed to a character’s speech patterns but if that’s not good enough, either could be acceptable here. She “did well” with a job well done OR she “did good” by fighting the good fight and standing between the bad guys and the people.

Bert Bertinelli

That's good, this chapter is a breeze of fresh air, outstanding storytelling. TYFTC

Dylan Alexander

Well I’m sorry, I studied the English language and these things just stick with me.

James Rosado

I love everything about this chapter

ABTelford

This was a great chat! Thanks Shirt!

Tina Young

I love moments like these. Where Jason lives up to the hero image that the younger generation have of him. He doesn't see it. But all those closest to him do. He is the inspiration for so many.

Vincent Ciavone

He fights monsters, he fights with monsters, and he fights against his own monsters

Liy

I love how this calls back to Jason fighting that silver rank monster to save the village in book 3.

Tex Northend

One of the best chapters in a while, be good to see him and the others get back to there roots clearing the boards saving people and building a solid reputation with the world, that would cause the remaning governments to completely loose leverage and power over him and solidify his reputation around the world.

Vodyinoi

Damn. Loved that chapter from word 1 to the last word. Well done!

Fate Hydrax

I think she should be taken on as jason’s apprentice

Adam

That was awesome

Molly

Yeah. We could use an intergalactic hero about now. Maybe that hit so hard because I’m jealous that she got to fight monsters. 👺

Kim Santos

Oh God that was perfect! On point! Exactly what I wanted! "You did good"

Seaspike

Yes. However, most people's spoken speech is not grammatically correct. Also, to many people, "You did well" and "You did good" do not mean exactly the same thing.

lockx

In this case, it's an Australian dialect thing. So while written words might follow those rules, the accuracy to character and origin would overrule the technically correct English. It's like an accent. I believe the terminology is regiolect or regional dialect.

Bonnie Leslie

No mate, as an Australian he would have definitely said ‘you did good’. He may have even said ‘ya did good’.

Richard Bonds

Fucking YAAAAAAY! EXCELLENT CHAPTER, man! Sooooo good!

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Daniel is ŁØNE

You did good is actually correct btw, "you did good" and "you did well" can mean different things and in this context both meanings work so your nitpick as actually wrong. You can look this up

bryan ortiz

First earthling member??

Scott Way

Great chapter.

John Durrett

Thank you for an excellent Chapter Shirt. The perfect pastry with light fluffy parts and dark chocolate parts. ;) "The body was an interdimensional shadow alien, Barry" reminded me of an old saying along the lines of Death is a constant companion, you need only look or speak over your left shoulder to know if its your time. It would be nice to have my own personal shade on my left shoulder to ask that question.

Dylan Alexander

Good isn’t an adverb, well is. You don’t say, ‘you did bad’. You say ‘ you didn’t do very well’ or ‘you did terribly’. In this case. ‘You did well’ or ‘you succeeded’.

Justin Butler

Yay the World Came Knocking. And she gets to meet her Hero. Oh wait you're never supposed to meet your hero. Hmm

Tarry Higgins

Now that was old school Jason. An adventurer, helping people. Delia's viewpoint of him as a hero was great.

Ruari Yeen

I'm not crying, you're crying

Clarke

This. So much of what we have read of other people perspective about Jason is negative. Here is a young girl who saw the hero. Who recognized that the ‘superheroes’ were posers and that Jason sacrificed to save lives - and wanted to grow up to do the same. One of your best chapters recently. Thanks Shirt.

Tristan

Ohhhh hellll yeeeesssssss

Samendio Mathieu

Several chapters ago a bronze ranker stood up to a silver rank water elemental just so a few people could survive. Now that same hold ranker witnessed a silver ranker giving every last bit of themselves to save some bronze rankers. The writing and call backs are so beautiful. I shed a tear 😢

Michael Romo

Pot plant, I'm sure you meant potted plant. But imagining someone in asano village opening growing pot is hilarious.

Danny G

Now she needs some time to heal. And she needs to meet someone who “runs a school”. I’m sure Jason knows a person or two to help her.

Mike Zebill

If you are referring to Jason in the quarry village he was still iron rank. He and his team didn't rank to bronze until they were in the Astral space.

Malcolm Gray

Knew member of them team 👀

Carl Gherardi

Damn onion ninjas. Fantastic chapter

Justin

Finally someone sees Jason for what he is from the moment they saw him

Jennifer Leigh

Still love Lenora and Barry!

Dino

Outstanding chapter!

Justin

Yeah but I mean from earth that was a legit child. Most people now still fear him from what we’ve seen

BloodStorm

Hold the line…..

Sabroso JFD!

I listened to these on a friend's audible account. I'm loving going through these on patreon with the additional comments on every chapter. Is there an original place the chapters were released that has all the original commentary? Where could I find something like that?

RGrocks

You can try royal road but I don’t think the comments are as active

Brad Gammey

Oh I like that

CringeWorthyStudios

Nah, they’re often called pot plants here in Australia. Mostly because we don’t call Cannabis “pot” here. It’s usually known as weed instead.

Alicia Bolick

Absolutely wonderful chapter!

samwise

Love this episode!!!

Chris Furry

I was almost sure there was going to be a racial gift evolution coming for Delia. What a great chapter.

Sad Chemist

You're being a pedantic ass. Good can be--and often is--used colloquially as an adverb. You could either say things are going pretty well or going pretty good, or that the charity does a lot of good. The phrase "You did good." has a completely different connotation and emotional impact than the phrase "You did well." in this context. Shut up and stop acting like using proper grammar in dialogue is anything other than an author's choice.

Robert Grasser

I really enjoyed Delia! You did a really great job expressing how capable and driven she is in an extremely small amount of words. I hope we get more action from her pov soon!

Lewis Long

10/10 chapter

Tom Roettger

Great chapter, thanks

Gilligan_Ng

Always love when Jason gets to do Hero Sh*t™.

Hayden Leech

I bet she has a scar! This is scar making stuff.

bryan ortiz

Nope. Taika and Travis are like Pallimustus stepchildren... that's where Taika really became an adventurer and trained, their way and immersed in their culture. And Travis should have been given a lord title in Rimaros for his deeds, and now he has a Palli wife and everything... And they were temp. Taika always wanted to leave, and Travis is a core-using non-adventurer. This new one has the heart of a Palli adventurer and has never been there. :)

Youkai-sama

*Mighty🐁 voice* "HeRe I come to save the DAAYYYY!"

Tim Johnson

So is shade a Ryan Reynolds or rob mcelhenney fan?

Ben Ruland

that was fire, got me tearing up here.

Jayson J

That was such a good chapter

Abdulaziz ALRumaih

One of my favorite chapters in a good long while They’re all good This one is just awesome

Ariel

Oh yea, that's the good stuff

Ariel

This is racial gift evolution AND scar making stuff

J W

So the very first of Jason's faithful outside his realms.

Stephen

Props on the double dissolution.

Jennifer Leigh

Thanks for the culture info! Although I have good memories of friends and I seeing how many double meanings we could come up with while working in a greenhouse. Pass the pot was definitely an early one.

Chris Furry

As someone who has studied (read: has advanced degrees in) the English language, and teaches the English language at the university level, you are being not just needlessly pedantic - you are being incorrectly pedantic. Diction, or word choice, is an aspect of grammar that is most commonly associated with formal writing, which prose and verse are not. Dialogue is an expression of the speech pattern of the character. Imagine how boring dialogue would be if every character spoke in formal English without the use of contractions? It would read like AI, because that is not how people speak the language. Or, in colloquial English, “That’s not how people talk.” Which is grammatically incorrect but a phrase in common usage.

Jim Hudson

So the very first of Jason's faithful and a good show for Jason. Great read Thank yo so much.

DasGoat622

Anyone else really want to see a flame war between some flat earth internet troll and an inter dimensional reality assassin?

Daneen

Also, technically I think Taika and Travis are outworlders now. I like thinking of them as Pallimustus stepchildren that’s great.

Will

+1 to rick

jeffrey niski

Jason is either gonna get suddenly shy from her fan girling or he's gonna lie and play it off

Garrett Gibson

Probably yes. More so Belinda due to traps and trickery. I can't help but draw the parallel with her and Jason however. I don't remember the chapter and the plot thread has yet to be picked up but I recall someone being informed of Jason and his abilities and referring to him as an "affliction skirmisher". This chapter used the word skirmisher a few times.

Kristy Riedel

Taika and Travis became outworlders just as Jason did. They are all earthlings, but not humans.

SomeGuyWhoReads

Last two chapters have been fire. Thoroughly enjoyed.

MoonlitShade

To be fair “weed” is a lot more commonly used to refer to it than “pot” is even here in America. By an order of magnitude. When I read “pot plant” I don’t immediately think of weed and I used to be a big pothead lmao

Kalanaere

Well you definitely have the wrathful god part on point. Said god also just turned a pack of iron lions into scrap.

Kalanaere

Now that you say it, I'm actually kind of disappointed in Shirt for not working the flat earthers into the storyline. Hell I'm sure Farrah would be happy to launch somebody into Orbit just to prove a point.

Kalanaere

Let the Church of Jason be born and his High Priestess be known lol

Kalanaere

on earth at least. While I agree with the sentiment, couldn't an argument be made that Farrah is also one of Jason's faithful. She keeps him in line and has absolute confidence in him doing what is right when it is needed despite all his quirks

Michael Romo

Not me, reading a second time to solidify the impact of that last statement.

Zuzana Toulcová

I dont think you can count her as his faithful - remember the discussion about her not voice of the will on tropical Island Jason created?

Zuzana Toulcová

Actually I think it's a mindset of a very few kids at least from what i remember here where I'm from

Zuzana Toulcová

Shirt please make it so 🥰🥰🥰 it's been a while since Jason found someone willing to do everything to protect the people including dying... please keep her 🥹🥹🥹

Zuzana Toulcová

Maybe for Nik 🤪 she's low rank otherwise. Also, who'll protect the people there of she leaves?

Zuzana Toulcová

It was Trenchant Moore the Siegesword, sorry of i místopředseda miss spelled, I'm not local 😁 and it was in the book with flying islands on the cover 😆

Zuzana Toulcová

I like how you write 🙂 would you happen to have some youtube or otherwise online lessons I could search up? My English is getting extremely rusty and I'd like to learn from you because it's refreshing 😀

Zuzana Toulcová

Thanks for saying that! I didn't realize it, but I totaly agree with every word in your comment 🥰

Bryan Jackson

Nah. He's grown enough to handle it. At least outwardly. He'll say something about being embarrassed to Shade, though.

Trevor Counceller

I think it was Trenchant Moore. Also perhaps another time around when Jason was defending a town whose defenses needed juice.

Wheels42

So weird. I lived in Bangor for a decade! Proper fun seeing it mentioned

Douglas Sokolowski

This one was special. Easily one of my favorites.

RonGAR

I said it once I'll say it again. The easiest way to 'Trap'/Lockdown Jason and his troops for months on end is by opening up multiple Transformation zones. Use Jason 'Hero complex' and the power of 'friendship' against them. With them locked away trying to 'save the world' the villains will have time to play. Seems like that's what they are trying to do now. SMH. ----------- Man-o-man I feel for Shade. I cannot fathom spending eternity with ppl who find F grade movies like "Mandroid" or "Eliminators" as classic entertainment. Honestly, shouldn't there be a committee dedicated to getting Jason caught up on pop culture? Maybe after he does, he could stop referring to 80's Movies/TV shows, that nobody knows or really cared about even then! Not me thou... I loved me some Airwolf and Knight Rider. But not enough to still reference it 40/50YEARS after it ended. LOL Surely someone sat him down to watch (All depending on what yr the magic world stopped making movies) 'Cast Away', The Lion King, The Green Mile,Spartacus, Xena, Hercules, Shawshank Redemption, Gladiator, Home Alone 1,2,3 or Stranger Things! ANYTHING ELSE, just so that he has use of other nonsensical references. LOL Have a movie night and let Shade pick the selection! Its only fair!

J W

Yeah I feel like Farrah is technically more of a Jiminy Cricket character. She is supposed to remind the hegemon of who he is when he forgets and begins to act all high and mighty. Kind of a jester of sorts but with power to back it up.

James Squibb

If that wasn't a feel good chapter, I don't know what is

Kelly

Wow, I’m crying. This was lovely. 🥹

Bango

One of the best chapters. "You did good"

Carl Gherardi

Is Wrexham, Wales the seat of the Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes?

Carl Gherardi

Heh. Paul Burrell, Royal Butler to Diana, lives in Farndon just down the road. I'm guessing they would be able to relate

Kconraw

Thx for the chapter

Opossums Coat

I’m so here for Delia

Talmadge Hires

This chapter was great. The beginning verses coming again at the end was amazing!

Kristy Riedel

All those avatars he had studying with Carlos could now be binge watching ALL THE THINGS, not just the stranger ones. ;;0)

Cilantro

I know this is probably not said enough, but I have followed a handful of authors on Patreon and shirt is the only one who links previous/ next chapters. I just wanna say how much I appreciate him doing that. Truly, thank you.

DeAndrea H

Seriously though. The Table of Contents with the previous/next links are chef’s kiss. It ruins me for the other authors.

Chloe

Nice, I liked this one. Though, Iron Lions and no mention of Lion Voltron? Tyftc
