Holiday timing and Heath releasing a powerful stream (Patreon)

TL;DR:

  • Heath will be streaming as he records book 12, Fri 8pm US Eastern. Links below.

  • I am going on a long-planned holiday after next week's chapters.

  • Break will be 4 weeks as I will also be setting up my new place near mum.

  • Not putting the payment on pause after the disaster last time, so feel free to drop the Patreon and (please) come back for the resumption of chapters in April.

  • Last chapter for March: 21st-22nd, depending on time zone.

  • First chapter for April: 14th-15th, depending on time zone.

As stated in my 2025 schedule post, I will be taking some time off for a holiday with family and friends to a gorgeous part of Australia called the Kimberley. I just got word yesterday that Mum's doctor's cleared her for the trip, which was a relief as I've been planning this for about eighteen months.

Also in that post, I mentioned setting up some accommodation near mum, so I have a place to work where I don't have to cross a continent to see her as her health continues to decline. The timing has worked out so that I'll be doing that after the trip, instead of coming home. Getting the place fully ready will take who knows how long, but I should have a basic setup and be ready to write in relatively short order.

On a more fun note, Heath Miller is currently working on the book 12 audio, and will be live streaming some of his recording.

I'm glad you'll have a place near your mum so you don't have to cross a continent, too, Shirt. I was in that position with both my parents as they separately declined in their last years. Fortunately, my sister lived close by them, but it was still hard since travel was a long and time-consuming trip. Take whatever time you need, we'll be here waiting for your return whenever it is!

Enjoy family vacation. I have to echo the beliefs of many of your other fans. Take as much time as you can with family. While we may not always agree or get along with family, once they're gone we will always wish we'd had more time to say or do the things we wanted.

Shirt, have you thought of adding an annual sub option that would be at month or 2s worth of discount? Seems to me it would be an easy way to split the difference of you taking breaks and no one having to suspend payments or cancel for a month when you take a break? Cause even if I cancel my sub, I am still paying for part of the break, I don't really save much by canceling during your break.

Meh, that’s American linguistical habit. I’m more inclined to 14th of March but that’s from the culture I was brought up in. My point being, people can say it however they want but what they can’t deny is the logic of scaling up from day to month to year. Plus it makes filing far easier, except if you are dealing with years and years of filing in which case the Japanese approach of year month day might be argued more useful. Of the three versions in use the US version is the least sensible and we all must pray that a lunatic does not take control of a major power and decide to enforce an even stupider system on all of us with year as the middle figure. 😂😂

How bout the year in the middle, and days and months switching places every month? Like Dd/(yy)yy/mm in January, and Mm/(yy)yy/dd for February, Dd/(yy)yy/mm in march, and so on.
