Missed it by that much...

Gnomes Rule. Nik seems to be leveling up very fast

COMMUNITY REFERENCE!!

Domy

🎵 Pocket Full of Hawthornes🎵

Chuck Haeberle

“Bro, I can’t sense you at all. Your stealth power is pro, now that it’s gold-rank. How many powers to you have left to go?” "..powers do you..." not "to you"

mhaj58

This is what Jason should be doing. Running rampant through the world, with unlimited power and no accountability. People who complain about them really want to be them. Including me

Mark Morrison

Great chapter - we're finally seeing Jason live up the threats/promises he made when he arrived back on Earth. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does to the next Government that crosses him. Did we ever hear what happen to the Australian Prime Minister, after it came out that he was behind the aliens invading ?

Tom C

Fun stuff. Embrace your godhood self Jason! TFTC

mockery jones

Wow. How bad is it going to get after we’ve been setup by these everything is going great! Chapters?

Warit

Wait "hawthorns wipes" is that an community reference?!

Samuel Strode

Cheese curry scone recipe? Sounds good can someone crack stach’s vault

Richard Bonds

I am just going to say it: I LOVE DESPOTIC JASON! (Yes, I fully realize that neither his actions nor his opinions are that of a despot, but rather an entity treating the powers of the world the way they have always treated others, but I stand by my statement, as it is way shorter to say)

Feu et Glace

Not the Scones! 😭

FabianTheGreat

Where is Jason IRL when we need him? The Earth is being destroyed by its own politicians and businessme, and I'd like to see them be made into farmers so that competent and empathetic people can take their places

Buck

Loves the comment about the cheese curry scone recipe! 😂

Dalth

20 years in the making, the people of Earth are finally starting to catch up to the idea that it IS possible for an individual to be strong enough that they cannot be held accountable. And it’s funny, because I imagine when the bridge is complete, magic levels are going to rise to the point that Gods can show up. That and Diamond rankers, who arguably have more direct power than Jason. Speaking of, I wonder if multidimensional gods are a thing, like, if they are worshipped in multiple places, the same being is in charge. Looking at you, Knowledge and Gabriella.

Der Ritter

Now i want the recepie for the "cheese curry scone" tftc

Captain Nuclear

It's so frustrating people still don't understand that ants can't really negotiate with the tank. I'm not saying that to be demeaning - I'm saying that, the nations of earth pose the same threat to jason/his agenda as wood ants pose to an M1 Abrams.

Hayden Leech

Wonder what noriko is up to. She kinda got off Scott free for the whole “selling out the planet” thing.

Cyrille Van Daele

Great Astral beings are the “multi-dimensional gods” they can be worshipped and prayed to on every world.

David

Why are they STILL playing politics? It’s been years and they want to cry about an agreement being like it was promised? It stopped making sense a while ago and now it’s reached “just kill them so they stop pissing everyone off” levels of idiocy. I hate the way the earth politicians are written. Mostly because that’s exactly how stupid and self centered they are in real life.

David

It’s going to end up being the US or AU at this rate. One pretending to care for political power points and the other too stupid to not betray the guy who saved to the world.

Dylan Alexander

It really is stupid, and funny. It’s like they don’t realise how hypocritical they are or how unimportant they are in the grand scheme of things.

Razeel Nightfall

I remember when the chapters were like a thick stew. Past few books the stew has added more water compared to other ingredients. Feels like rushed pacing and skimming through arcs. I would like some more meat and potatoes. Hope we get that once we leave earth.

Dylan Alexander

I vote he wipe out the US government. With what’s going on IRL I’d laugh my head off.

Kendal Bozant

Typo "learning what happening" Change "what" to "what's"

Michael Romo

They're only threat to his is maybe just maybe they could kill his avatar with a nuke. But they'd have to kill his entire team, Rufus family, and that's not even including the storm kingdoms ppl. And he'd come back and kill everyone. So ya they don't get it yet.

Scott Martinis

It would be like Jesus showing up to stay pretty much on earth Hard to wrap your head around a walking demigod

Michael Romo

Oh, I never thought her devotion could be knowledges door! Oooo. Ideas have been had!

David Collins

It's ants negotiating with ants about the actions of a man with a blowtorch. They imagine each other on the same level because they are incapable of seeing how far down they truly are.

Justin Butler

I vote he grabs another entire government. Because I like chaos.

Pierce

Fun!

MoonlitShade

The politics is getting fucking annoying tbh. I thought Jason decided to embrace “fuck the world, I’m God now, and I run shit because I HAVE TO to prepare the world for What Comes Next” and we’re probably going to get a whole bunch more chapters of politicians debating shit.

Kendal Bozant

I love that Jason still creates comedic situations but reacting impulsively, even if it's just some unwanted pictures.

MoonlitShade

AFAIK, every world with high enough magic has its own Knowledge god. Or War god or Death god other universal stuff like that. Gods are low-tier enough that they can’t be multiversal. That’s the domain of Great Astral Beings. Jason is different. He’s not a god and never will be. His Astral Nexus makes him LIKE a god, but different. He’s also LIKE an Astral King, but different. He also has that proto-GAB Hegemon thing going on.

Jarrett Glass

I think Boris(?) Said they were centuries from a native Earth god appearing. But I don't remember if that took into account the dimensional bridge...

dooley3000

Those Hawthorne wipes really are streets ahead

RonGAR

Claire, the US, and CHINA are still playing 'the old game' I see. They've been toying w/ the world so long without repercussions that it is more than clear they see now that it is happening to them, and they hate it. LOL As for that 'ask' about wanting Asano areas to be recognized as their own nation, that was clearly a 'carrot'. A little gift so the nations could pretend they still have power to 'give' something away, while we all know and they know, If Jason really cared, he would just take it! And that would be that. ------------ Personally, I love the prison planet idea, and the punishment the rulers of Bahrain received. Wish Anna didn't promise to get them released. ---------- Kinda tells you something when the Gov't of Earth are trying so hard to get a bunch of Dictators and Tyrannts released, all because they are 'part of the club' . SMH Yeah, their moral compass is FUQHED for sure. --------- Aww glad he is spending time w/ Nik and the rest of the ppl he bought to Earth. Glad he is not letting them ruin his plans.

RonGAR

Yeah, I would like to try it once and see how it is. lol

Bethany Bluebird

Man the politics is so fun. Shirt writes politicians so well. They're very believably stupid, especially considering the current administration in the ol' US of A.

OJCOPACABANA

I wonder just how much of this Dominion saw coming. Tyftc

Dimitri

I remember people always complaining the story takes too long, the arch is too long, the chapters are too short… we are all here because we love shirts work. Why don’t we just enjoy the story as it is? 😅

David

It would be hard to wrap your head around if all you did was see them fly and heal people when no one else can do anything similar. It shouldn’t be difficult at all with a magical world and 100+ gold rankers living on it currently. You know, the walking nukes who can do similar things as long as it doesn’t involve reality shenanigans.

Lora Greenberg

Nik is gold rank...feels like we have missed much of his adventures.

RonGAR

WAIT...WAIT, WAAAITTTT A MINUTE! Did we miss a clue this chapter? The massive loss of life that Raythe came back to warn Jason about, was it due to the creation of the 'system'? The BILLIONS out there who are dying and or praying for his mercy.... Was this the thing they feared he would soon find out about? The thing that they feared would break him and cause him to 'snap'? The thing he would go back in time to try to undo??? It was the system? But wouldn't that mean breaking the 'Sundered Throne' all over again? ??? I guess that's why the gods wanted Raythe to pay him a visit even if it mean going into his spirit realm.

Jeff

Making the king play Farmville is a good idea

RonGAR

Yes is does... You just have to go to the right parts. East Village for one. China Town, Little Italy and Alphabet City alone would make you weep with regret for even thinking that. Let's just say... you're wrong and call it a day. LOL

Bethany Bluebird

It really is kind of a nightmare scenario, huh..? Especially with the administration straight up threatening to annex my country...

Ligeia

Whatever his rank, I'm glad he's a furry favorite now. Hee! Seriously, he seems like a great guy with awesome skills and the softest fur ever, I'm sure!

Ligeia

I've never seen whatever show you guys know about Hawthorne wipes from. Can I get a one-sentence explanation, perhaps?

Jake Rix

Love the community reference

N8rtotPlayz

Even the astral nexus forgets the little things. Funny he did it in Stash’s bakery. Now on two planets! Listening to the prayers of people on earth which will probably increase when he gets to diamond rank. The whole of the cosmos whispering to the system admin. I’m shaking my head at the absurdity of power. Ultimately it’s a reflection of the lies told by certain religions. Still, it’s a great story that I plan to read to the end. Yes, it’s that good. I’ve read some of the reviews and seen some videos of people commenting on the series. Their views seem biased based on the MC or the LitRPG genre. I’m reading some other series and find this one to be one of the better ones. I don’t have the time or money to delve into the entirety of the genre. I did find a writer that I also follow on this platform. Its about an artist that discovers that runes can really take you places. The writing is as phenomenal as shirts writing.

Ligeia

Have we heard about Stash's Earth biscuit empire yet? I mean, it's not exactly surprising that he's taking over the world bakery business, but have we actually heard he established it yet? I only wish it were real!!

Ligeia

I don't think so -- he'd learned that the System had caused a lot of problems as soon as he returned from unsundering the Throne. Raythe had already told him, albeit in general terms. Now he's learning specifics, is all.

Jacob Goodrich

Love it. The fact she delivered that threat point blank of not crossing the line without giving us something shows Jason is really trying to help. The end of the chapter goes exactly how I would see Jason seeing one of his favorite foods

N8rtotPlayz

While that mostly true, a few still exist. They are exceedingly rare and often used in filming. I love being able to search the internet before saying something with absolute certainty.

Michael Deleon

God I love this portion. This is amazing!

Danyo

The Hawthorne wipes reference legitimately made me so happy. i didn't squeal, you did..

Aaron Schwartz

No. The system only happened because he repaired the throne. I’m pretty sure even the GABs couldn’t have predicted the side effects of messing with that thing.

wanderer117

I loved the Hawthorne Wipes reference. Solid deep cut

wanderer117

IDK, I'm getting a President: The office of the President can’t coexist with a living god that won’t submit to it… I mean, besides Poseidon. But he’s locked up in Area 51 already, so that doesn’t really count. vibe

Soli116

I love Shirt's storytelling. He does a very good job!

wanderer117

Not strictly true. Throwing magic nukes at each other / him would derail his agenda badly. Even just pulling back and not sharing in the magitech brain trust would hurt Jason's goals. We know he's working for "The Greater Good" but everyone else only has his word and his actions to judge him on. When his actions include overthrowing governments so subtly that there isn't any direct evidence, shouldn't they be afraid? Who is without sin? I wouldn't mind some time jumps though, to keep the narrative interesting.

wanderer117

Anyone else getting a Cradle: Bloodline vibe from this section of the story? You can't go home again because your home is to weak to even grasp how strong you are especially when you are trying to protect them from threats even stronger than you.

Captain Nuclear

I disagree. He's immortal. In the truest sense of the word. Even if they created magical nukes, deployed them, and managed to set one off in a location that somehow damaged his interests, he'll be even more powerful in a hundred years. And a thousand. And a hundred thousand years. Not sharing means getting the same treatment as Bahrain. Vanished, placed on a prison world. A prison world! That he controls, in full and totality because it's inside his soul. Or is his soul. Or made from it. I'm unclear. But the point is, you don't argue against a sunset.

ThoMiCroN

I can’t wait to see Jason cultists from Pallimustus do pilgrimages to his hometown in Australia.

wanderer117

Hawthorne wipes is from the TV show Community. The first CEO is cartoonishly racist. The second CEO is more boomer racist. It's still there but it's ... diet racism I guess? https://preview.redd.it/one-of-my-favourite-bits-is-how-cornelius-is-so-racist-he-v0-51opag5ecmia1.png?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=2d328105ac839c725561bf0d014099953c98a272

ThoMiCroN

I’d like clarifications about the Asano solar system. There’s a vampire prison planet, a messenger prison planet… it would be good to clarify what planets exist now and the main planet should be named already. Jason could ask the opinion of the current residents.

wanderer117

That's great. It will annoy him so much that he's the reason his home town is a tourist destination.

wanderer117

Right, I'm not saying the USA could kill him forever. But Jason cares so much about Earth and it's people that it is highly likely he would create a time loop to stop bad things from happening to them. The people of Earth could try holding themselves hostage, if they ever really understood him.

Revan694

Now I need to find a cheese curry scone recipe 😂

TradeMk

I don't think there is much point. A planet could be there one minute and gone the next. If a planet is needed a planet there will be.

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

ThoMiCroN

Yes but Jason also stated he prefers to limit the big changes to the laws of his reality so that people don’t get the impression that his world is unreal.

BloodStorm

What ever happened to Jason making his magical super powered humans? The updated EOA program?

Ty

Soular system. heh.

Drfman

Was not expecting the Community reference.

Roro

9 gold abilities and 11 still silver, I think. Because it’s 5 abilities per essence, with 4 total essences, so 20 essence abilities total.

Kalanaere

The World Leaders just don't get it. Nothing they can say or do will hurt Jason. Screw with his family though and he will very very likely hurl you bodily into the deep Astral of your lucky

Philipp Battenberg

Nah. The best way to get someone bodily into the deep Astral is through Jason's Astral Gate. The gate has an airlock, far more stylish than just throwing them. 😉

Frank Morgana

Yes! Last chapter I wondered if Stash had a franchise on Earth....and Stash has a few franchise on Earth hahaha Can he please create his own Svalbard vault or get caught attempting to infiltrate Svalbard with Belinda to add his own stuff

Philipp Battenberg

@BloodStorm yeah an update would be nice as we are fast forwarding a bit again. But Shirt can only write about so many things at a time. I think we'll get an update when it's successful at the earliest. @Matt Well, that'll have to wait until the bridge is complete. But who knows maybe Vladwick will be an ally in the final conflict.

Philipp Battenberg

Yeah, some specificity for his mainstay planets. IIRC: There's his main planet with the lehenics, Arbor and such. There's Prison Planet, mainly inhabited by messengers, but planets are huge, so the king's farm is probably also there, etc. And there's Vampire Paradise Moon with it's planet. Other mentions were temporary planets or could have been on Prison Planet or the main one.

RonGAR

Good idea... thou I am more interested in what he is going to do with all the new messengers the tree he absorbed is going to be producing. He really can't keep pretending he does not influence them. He can't keep them there with 'nothing' to do. Live a life without purpose.

RonGAR

@Wanderer... Honestly. He should be over it by now. Either he becomes an active 'system god' doing, whatever miracles or punishments he can, or an absentee god never ever answering a single prayer and giving no hope to anyone.

RonGAR

Bloodline to my eyes was the worse part of the Cradle series, for the simple fact that it was just like Jasons home coming. They both put on 'kid gloves' to deal with the openly disrespectful locals, who didn't take the clue that things changed! That the MC, changed! That they were not dealing w/ someone they could suppress on their own, or together! And the MC of both series, held back longer than necessary, let them continue thinking they could play the old games, and took disrespectful attempt after attempt, till someone they loved got hurt, and only after that, they blew up and just started smashing down threats and potential threats, regretting or wondering why they let the disrespect and the old games go on for so damn long. Why their loved one needed to be hurt first before they accepted they had the power to put an end to it all along. Samne thing with Jason. He has the power to do what he needs to do, but is reluctant, and holds himself back. IMO He really wants to handle this as a 'gold ranker' and with his team, rather than a newly transcendend god of the system.

Ligeia

Will the trees birth messengers, though? Maybe they'll birth leheniks, or something else entirely!

Ligeia

Thanks, @wanderer117. I don't watch TV any more; books are so much better!

Ligeia

Really! Earth produces enough chaos without a god helping it along.

Kismet

And there's that satisfying sound airlocks make when they start to open or seal shut. That oddly comforting mechanical hissing sound. Or maybe that's just me. 😳

Kristy Riedel

That would be awesome! The System messengers should be adorable bunny people!

Frederick

And thus, he has become the monster. --- - Says he accepts that what he is doing, what he has to do, is hurting the common people because his goal is grander than the collateral damage of a few innocents' deaths. - Using his power to force his will on others beyond what's necessary to keep them from harming innocents. - Choosing to keep parts of his personality from manifesting, including some amount of empathy, so he can work towards his goal without getting in his own way.

Fabian

Typo: He is a skogStroll not a skogtroll, the northern grammar is wrong. :) /a swede

ByLAWphoto

to be fair, when he fixed the Sundered/Cosmic Throne, it wasn't like he CHOSE to give the System to...existence. it just happened. and he has to keep the emotional baggage of what happened when people got the System. also, he (allegedly) removed a corrupt government. X people die as a result of the government versus Y people dying from removing the government. if you would blame yourself for the X deaths and blame yourself for the Y deaths, which do you reasonably choose?

Frederick

It's not the result of turning on the system I'm talking about, nor is it that he accepted that both options will let or cause innocents to die. It is that he accepts that innocents will die as a matter of course, even as a result of his actions, and has the ability to control how much empathy he operates with. He can now apparently turn off caring altogether.

Frederick

While I... disagree with the current administration's way of doing things, I do think it is important to emphasize the non-partisan part of your comment. We (humans) have yet to find a political system that cannot be exploited, even though there have been many that did pretty okay for many generations. Sometimes, you just get a more obvious example to point at. 😞

Bryan Jackson

I suspect he'll just let his messengers just live out their lives within his domain and rarely if ever interact with them.

Cryfdwr

Anna, are you ok? Are you ok, Anna?

Skalias Pablo

Current Jason is almost anathema to most previous incarnations of Jason, shit he's a king, god, and great astral being all rolled into one. He's vaguely similar to the "future" diamond rank version of Jason shown by that Nightmare Hag (although he is not literally cartoonishly evil obviously.) Though I have no problem with current Jason myself as I watch him bully his old bullies :^)

GrizzLeo

Can't wait for the day Jason just starts giving people quests through the system.

Corvid

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR has issued a global quest. Objective: don't be a tool. Reward: Personal Growth

Corvid

Yeah it's fun seeing him talk about "the humans." As his power continues to grow, he let's more and more of "The Hegemon" come out, integrating it as time goes on. I see it as him stepping more into his role as a transcendent existence, kind of like Dawn was mentioning. Especially now that he's got people praying to the great astral biscuit

Frederick

At a certain point, it might do less harm to accept and guide them than to leave them to their whims 😕

Soli116

@Ligeia Jason has a messenger birthing planet in the astral space attached to the Brightheart city.

Soli116

Which Manhattan? The one on our earth or Jason's? They're not the same.

Corac

You realize the quest would be to watch all seasons on airwolf right?

Opossums Coat

I love that Stash is a movie star while owning an interdimensional bakery franchise. He's true goals.
