...Aya and Chihaya couldn’t believe their eyes – right in front of them during their dive that evening at Siesta Beach was a girl with short black hair in a bob cut and shapely body, flailing around and potentially on the verge of drowning. While both of the girls had their fair share of close calls in their diving adventures over the years, it was rare for them to see another person in their midst struggling. Both Aya and Chihaya were a little far out, so time was of the essence. Quickly, Aya grabbed the struggling girl from the side, slinging the girl’s shoulder over hers and trying to calm the girl down while Chihaya acted as a kind of spotter just in front of them. It took over a minute for all three to finally break the surface, slowed somewhat by the black-haired girl’s thrashing and expelling of air. After the girl Aya and Chihaya had spotted finished hacking out most of the water she swallowed, she finally spoke a little. “Thank you,” she murmured tiredly, “thank you so much.” She was maintaining consciousness just enough to keep her head above water as the three came closer and closer. Two other people – both young women, one with long red hair with some braids in the back and another with short brown hair – signaled the girls near the surf, shouting “Suguha! Suguha! Over here!” Amazingly, Suguha had just enough energy left to stumble a little under her own weight as she attempted to move forward by herself shortly after everyone was out of the water and back at Siesta Beach, the red-haired girl on the shore offering a gray jacket for Suguha to warm up in. The other girls introduced themselves to Aya and Chihaya as Asuna and Rika, the two recognizing Chihaya after a little talking. Asuna and Rika both walked by Yoshika’s practice routinely since a gym they went to and Chihaya occasionally went to as a guest was along the same stretch of road. Sometimes, the two spotted Chihaya as she was loading her Buick in the parking lot. Chihaya had heard about Suguha before, but never met her…until taking part in saving her....
