The Kids Are Not All Right | Gen V 2x5 | Group Reaction

Micky, Pat, Suraj, and Rana present their review for Gen V | Season 2 Episode 5 ( The Kids Are Not All Right) | Written by: Lauren Greer & Directed by: Karen Gaviola In this intense chapter of Gen V, the story dives deeper into the aftermath of Godolkin University’s dark secrets. Here’s a quick recap of Season 1: students Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway), Jordan Li (London Thor / Derek Luh), Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips), and Sam Riordan (Asa Germann) uncovered The Woods — Vought’s secret underground lab where supes were experimented on. They also exposed the existence of a supe-killing virus and faced Homelander himself in the explosive finale. In Episode 5, the tension rises as Dean Cipher (Clancy Brown) secretly tends to a burned man inside a hyperbaric chamber, suggesting there’s more to his identity than meets the eye. Meanwhile, Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) manipulates events from the shadows, tightening her grip on Vought’s leadership. Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips) is punished and sent to the grim Elmira facility after attempting to reveal Cipher’s lies. Determined to save her, Marie, Jordan, and Emma break in—only to be captured and stripped of their powers using suppressive collars. Inside Elmira, chaos unfolds as the group discovers Marie’s sister Annabeth (Keeya King) near death. In a moment of heartbreak and courage, Marie channels her evolving blood-based powers to resurrect her sister, revealing that her abilities may extend far beyond what any supe has ever shown. At the same time, Sam Riordan confronts his past and learns shocking truths about his family and how Vought shaped his life. This episode deepens the mystery behind Project Odessa and shows how Cipher and Sage’s plans could disrupt Homelander’s control of the supe world. Guys, We've already seen Marie heal with her powers multiple times, all the way back to the first episode of the show, when Andre slits a woman's throat in a bar... The reveal here is not the healing power, it's resurrection, her sister was dead. also, guy with no V in his blood... has a person who went through a classic "superhero origin event" in his basement... and mind control powers are involved... 1 + 1... Normies gonna Normie

I was honestly pissed they didn’t recognize the difference between surgery and full out resurrection.

SergeTroy

Definitely not a fan of that method of resurrection. By appearances Marie drained some blood from all her friends and caused them excruciating pain, obviously without consent. I’d be very tempted to give her the Jordan - Cate treatment and bash her head in with a bat.

But it’s very questionable that Marie knowingly drained their blood for her sister. If that’s even what she did with their blood, it’s unclear. All we know is that they experienced pain 🤷‍♂️ And of I was in a situation like that and I experience a moment of pain to see my friends dead sibling be brought back to life, I don’t think I’d be bothered.

Man, y'all were really judgmental this episode lmao

SergeTroy

Took a second watch and I couldn’t believe they weren’t more affected by Marie finding her sister dead with her throat cut. That’s like watching the fetal stabbing in GoT Red Wedding and remarking, “Well I guess that kids not inheriting Jack.”

Rob Church

The actress who played Sams mom played the android in Jason X.

She also played the Sheriff’s Wife (Perrineau’s) in ‘From,’ season 1. For all of 1 episode I think.
