Content poll for version 0.29
- Orders 21
- Blocking enemies 35
- Linda's fun with monsters 84
- I don't mind 17
Oookay, spontanous poll time again.
As you know I was about to make orders possible for the player to fulfill. I set up a plan and the numbers of calculations and was about to start designing the UI and start to code. My idea was to add another tab in the 'management' section of the shop (where one can set up the potions for selling and view the results).
But it came to me if this wasn't just another alternative to earn money. Yes, it would have granted more coins than selling them normally, but was that enough? I guess I can thanks Knolden for my doubts, lol.
So, I do the same thing I do everytime I don't know with what to continue: I will ask my Patrons!
Here you have a few options for what I can implement for version 0.29:
Option 1: Orders
This is the original plan. Maybe I was overthinking way to much and adding this topic would be great. I still think it really fits into Potion Shop, but is it enough? Knolden suggested giving more unique rewards when fulfilling an order than just coins. Like bonus scenes or something. What do you think?
Option 2: Blocking enemies à la Grue
That was the topic I had in mind before comming up with the order idea.
With this option I'd add more creatures that act like the Grue in the mansion (the big blue guy that blocks certain areas). I'd like to have such enemies around in every map. The player can prepare by bringing an appropiate potion from home in case he will face this enemy. Or pay with Sonja's body.
For the forest area I thought something like a big tube fly trap where Sonja can enter or maybe a trap where her lower body gets pulled under ground.
And for the cave... I don't know yet. Maybe I will add even more than just one each area.
Oh yeah, and I will add more small dead ends to the maps that might get blocked by such an enemy. If there is none you can still find stuff there, but not as much as when it's blocked.
Option 3: Linda's fun with monsters
I read every now and then that people would like to see Linda getting more... involved... with the monsters. There are two cases where I did this: the bathroom slime and the nighttime insect.
Imagine something like this for every lesser and elite monster just for Linda:
There will be a dialogue happening that introduces a new scene with a new monster. After the dialogue is done the scene plays out somewhere around the house. And the player can come back to the scene anytime by clicking an item connected to the scene. For example: If the player wants to see the slime scene again he can click the drain in the bathroom.
If I calculated correctly this means that I need to add 17 monster scenes for Linda. Not sure if I wanna do them all in one go or if I start with only like half of them with the update. Depends how long I take. I prefer doing all at once.
Option 4: I don't mind
You're happy with any outcome.
That's all what I can think of for now. I will give this poll a couple of days. Lately the results are pretty clear, which makes it easier for me.
While you're voting I will add 1 or 2 new random Linda animations.
Have fun voting! And tell me what you think by writing in the comments. If you have suggestions about what to add in those options, please let us know!
I will talk to you soon!
