Continuation of the big enemy poll 0.3
- Satyrs 84
- Goblins 34
- Ogres 51
- Rats 75
- Slugs 58
- Fairies 31
- Zombies 35
The last poll did bring a good amount of clearification. Centaurs and Face Huggers will be in the next version for certain!
And some enemy ideas did not get far enough to truly consider them.
On the other hand there are a few options in mid-range that I would like to get updated numbers; in hope to get a clearer result of the poll.
This time I will share my thoughts in detail to every option, so you can understand my way of thinking.
The count of votes are taken on the 15.02.24 (10 AM GMT +1)
Satyrs (60 votes):
One of my more favourable options. Could drop Mystic Essence or Ungulate Essence. Works well together with the Centaur, the Unicorn and even the Boar.
Goblins (55):
An 'okay' option for me. Maybe even a bit less than that. Will drop Greenskin Essence. I prefer to have either kobolds (which are in the cave) or goblins in my game. The adventage is that the enemy design is already done, cause they will look like the ones from the tree trap.
Ogres (55):
Same as the Goblins to me. Can drop Greenskin Essence; maybe even Mystic Essence.
(Big) Rats (53):
Rather a favourite to me. It can drop Rodent Essence and I have a design in mind. If this won't get chosen, then I will get rid of Rodent Essence and make bats drop Vampiric Essence.
(Big) Slugs (49):
A favourite. Mainly cause it can drop Slime Essence, which is exactly what I need. Alternatively I need to make a trap that drops this. Or the Face Huggers could. (But I prefer Eldritch Essence for the Face Huggers)
(Small) Fairies (46):
Not on the upper list for me. Mainly cause they are very small to handle in terms of drawing. They could drop Mystic Essence. Usually in hentai games, fairies will use hypnotic dust to make the protagonist masturbate. But I don't really want this for my game. Simply cause the player can choose to let Sonja masturbate whenever they want anyway. The only other way would be that they perform like the bats, but then I'd need to make them a bit bigger in size.
I doubt that I will add those to the next array of enemies, but I will keep them on the list. I will consider it if they get highly more votes then expected.
Zombies (45):
I was torn, if I wanna put them on this list at all. They are not a favourite. The chance that they will make it into my next game is pretty high though. They could drop Undead Essence. If so I will change Vampiric Essence to Undead Essence and make the bats keep dropping Rodent Essence. Which automatically means that Zombies can only work together with Rats.
Same as the Fairies, I doubt that I will add them next version unless you guys proove otherwise.
While I was thinking about all of this I realized that the Boar has a problem with dropping essence; The only thing I could figure out is that it could drop Ungulate Essence as well. Like the Unicorn could technically do. But it feels like that a Unicorn is so much more than just a hoofed horse. It feels more right if it drops Mystic Essence; you know what I mean?
But I will figure that out when some results of the poll are there.
Setting up this poll doesn't prevent me from working on the map layout. I'm done drawing the tileset and some object (maybe need to add more later) and I will start building the map. The points of interest are now more or less clear to me. I actually don't wanna go to much into detail, cause I want you guys to have fun exploring. For the size I will aim for cave standards, which is the largest map.
This post was a bigger one, but I hope I made my way of thinking somewhat clear to you.
This poll will have multiple choice, cause there are so many options once more. If you guys vote for 2-3 options, then this should be good. Don't feel pressured to stay with this number though. Trust your gut.
You will hear from me after a few days again when the poll got some votes. If you have any suggestions or ideas that you wanna share, please do so in the comments! Especially if you have an idea for a type of essence that hasn't crossed my mind, yet!
See you later!
