The Malefic Viper did have to agree that waiting for Jake to fully wake up wasn’t the most satisfying experience. Usually, he could at least get a sense of how Jake was doing, but in his current state, not even a Primordial could get a peek. Jake’s soul had gone somewhere only the system had authority, after all.

All he could thus do was wait impatiently to see if Jake would open his eyes. From the looks of it, Jake hadn’t experienced any soul damage that was too bad, and while he had definitely exhausted himself, he’d luckily also worked on getting a meditation skill that should rapidly help hasten his recovery.

Of course, that wasn’t the main benefit Jake would get from this. Jake’s progress would accelerate going forward due to this upgrade. The Viper also saw that Artemis knew, though she was still clearly more worried about him waking up than his improved potential.

An endearing trait the snake god approved of.

While waiting, the Viper also had a bit of an odd thought. Seeing that the First Sage had taught Jake so much, wouldn’t his dear Chosen be considered at least half a disciple by now? And if that was the case, Vilas would be the senior brother, right? Definitely a bit weird, but he still found the thought funny, and he could only be grateful that his Master’s transcendent existence had also ended up benefiting his Chosen.

Not to downplay what Jake had done. He had truly accomplished something extraordinary that the Viper couldn’t imagine many – if anyone else – doing, even with the direct guidance of the First Sage. He had managed to gain access to something normally only gods were allowed to approach. Sure, this access was extremely limited based on the aura he released earlier, but the mere fact that he had even touched upon it was unheard of.

To be clear, this didn’t mean Jake was suddenly half a god or anything like that… he was just one tiny little step closer and had taken this step far earlier than usual.

Being able to peer into concepts with the help of the system through a Meditate skill wasn’t anything exclusive to gods, and many got skills capable of doing so at higher grades, with it usually revolving around their specialization. A water mage would be able to meditate on the concept of water and those immediately surrounding it; a sword-user would be able to meditate on sword-related concepts; and so on and so forth.

When they did so, the system would provide them with curated and limited Records during their meditation, effectively feeding them scraps. It could be compared to them getting a single leaky pipe installed in their souls, allowing the system to drip out concepts when it so desired.

Meanwhile, Jake had gained limited direct access to the ocean that served as the main reservoir. If it weren’t limited, Jake would have drowned with absolute certainty. Even gods risked losing themselves when exploring the endless sea of Records.

“Does it usually take this long to wake up?” Artemis asked after several more minutes had passed with seemingly no progress.

“I like how you think there is any semblance of ‘usual’ in this entire scenario,” the Viper chuckled and shook his head. “But I would just give it a bit. You know as well as I do that the mind’s comprehension of time while in that state isn’t exactly the most logical or stable, and unlike us, Jake didn’t anchor himself before going in but just took the dive.”

Artemis slowly nodded in acknowledgment as she joined the Viper in silently waiting. Several more hours passed with Jake just sitting there completely unmoving. His aura was stable, and there were no fluctuations of energy or anything like that.

However, about five hours after Artemis had spoken last… something stirred. The Viper felt Jake’s aura slightly change, and in the very next moment, it spiked and grew even more powerful, making the Viper smile.

Success.

--

Finding his way back proved more challenging than Jake had first expected. He also realized that this was the final part of the upgraded meditate skill he still needed to figure out. He effectively had to chart a path between his Soulspace and this weird space that seemed to exist nowhere yet everywhere, using his Truesoul as the gateway to it.

Luckily, his way back proved a lot easier than the way there. In fact, all he had to do was travel in whatever direction lessened the pressure from the massive gate, which was leaking concepts. Again, Jake wasn’t sure he was actually going anywhere or if he was just distancing his mind from the gate of concepts, but either way, it seemed to work.

Slowly, Jake began to feel his senses return. He vaguely started to feel the energy running through his body, and right as that happened, Jake also instantly became aware of what was happening around his body, courtesy of his Sphere of Perception.

Through his sphere, he saw that Artemis and Villy were both there waiting for him. They were just standing there, seemingly not interacting much, and Jake couldn’t help but smile when he saw the relief on Artemis’ face upon also feeling that he was nearly back.

Shortly after, Jake returned to his Soulspace. As he appeared, Jake found himself standing in the gazebo that had housed the tome left by the First Sage. On the backside of the gazebo, a large plane of golden light had appeared, which was what Jake had walked out of; instinctively, he knew this would now serve as the connection between himself and the weird, mind-realm of concepts.

To clarify, Jake didn’t actually have a portal there. Everything in the Soulspace was a representation of Records, and this was just the expression of Jake’s overly simplified understanding of how to enter this realm. One could almost call it a trigger that Jake subconsciously knew he had to enter this new state of ultra-deep meditation simply through entering.

Seeing this gate appearing was definitely not a surprise… but what was a surprise was what Jake found in the gazebo besides the portal. Jake had expected the Legacy of the First Sage to have been consumed during this entire process of enlightenment, yet right there in front of him was the tome of the First Sage, still fully intact from the looks of it.

While Jake should definitely focus more on the notifications that he’d just gotten from the system and the sensation of having suddenly grown stronger, he instead couldn’t help but open the tome.

As he did so, he found all the pages blank. Jake was disappointed but not really surprised as he nodded in understanding. Yeah, it made sense that the book had consumed the Records infused by the First Sage to build that road of golden pages, and…

Oh, never mind. After flipping through more of the book, Jake realized it was only the section he’d already read that had been removed from the book. There were even more sections Jake didn’t fulfill some unknown requirement to access yet, and while he certainly tried, he found himself unable to open the next chapter.

Shaking his head, Jake couldn’t help but smile. Just how many Records had the First Sage left for Jake? Just how much had he given him? Also, was the system really okay with a transcendent being providing Jake that much? Sure, he’d spent five charges of his Path of the Heretic-Chosen, but the trade still seemed unbelievable.

Closing the book again, Jake had a good feeling he wouldn’t be able to get anything out of it before he reached B-grade, anyway. Speaking of B-grade, Jake had a few notifications he needed to check, which either confirmed that he had completed tasks on his pre-evolution checklist or brought him one step closer to the actual evolution.

Starting at the top of notifications, Jake looked at the most boring ones first. Expectedly, fixing and upgrading his Palate of the Malefic Viper had been recognized by the system and given him a few levels. Three, to be exact.

’DING!’ Profession: [Heretic-Chosen Alchemist of the Malefic Viper] has reached level 343 - Stat points allocated, +35 Free Points

’DING!’ Profession: [Heretic-Chosen Alchemist of the Malefic Viper] has reached level 345 - Stat points allocated, +35 Free Points

’DING!’ Race: [Human (C)] has reached level 338 - Stat points allocated, +45 Free Points

Getting levels was, of course, great, but it was truly overshadowed by what came next. Seeing as it was a race skill, Jake’s other skill upgrade hadn’t resulted in any levels gained, but Jake quite frankly didn’t care much as he excitedly opened and saw the upgrade he’d been working towards for so long. It was a long time coming, and it also answered another question Jake had been asking himself for a long time:

The rarity that came after mythical.

[Serene Soul Meditation (Epic)]

-->

[Sage’s Meditation of Enlightenment (Sacred)] – Surrender parts of your being and glean that which lies beyond the boundary as your soul takes half a step into the realm of divinity. Allows you to enter a state of meditation, increasing regeneration of all resources to an extreme level. While in meditation, you gain supreme control over your own energies and soul, allowing you to freely traverse your Soulspace. Delving deeper, you can establish contact with the Gate of Enlightenment, enabling you to explore myriad concepts. Be aware that spending too long at the Gate of Enlightenment may have adverse effects. As a result of your connection with the Gate of Enlightenment, you experience extreme calmness and clarity while meditating. This connection also slowly nurtures your soul, mending minor flaws and injuries. While in meditation, all connections to the outside world are entirely cut off, and no outside stimuli can force you out of meditation.

This skill was truly the Meditate skill to rule all Meditate skills. All the existing effects Meditate usually provided had been supercharged to all-new levels, and he’d even retained the beneficial effects of Serene Soul Meditation, such as the ability for his mind to more easily remain calm. Furthermore, it could now even heal and mend his soul. Again, technically, his old Meditate skill also could, but the effect was so slow that even healing minor soul injuries would take so damn long. Before, his best way to handle a soul injury was truly just to sleep, while now, meditation was definitely the best choice. Then again, maybe he could even sleep while meditating… food for thought.

Needless to say, increased recovery was not the reason this skill had been given the rarity it had. Sacred rarity was one Jake didn’t even remember hearing about before, but as he read the description of the skill, it made sense. Now, Jake wasn’t entirely sure if sacred rarity was just the natural next rarity after mythical or something special given to skills created by mortals that included divine aspects.

His new Meditate skill seemed to have gained the sacred rarity exactly because it was related to the divine. Also, Jake finally got the answer to what the gate was called. A part of him had thought that it was just something he’d created through his own mind, but apparently, it was something recognized that even had a name. Gate of Enlightenment seemed like a simple name for something so important, but then again, it was quite an apt one.

Being able to experience myriad concepts, as the description stated, was bound to accelerate Jake’s learning, especially when it came to certain alchemical disciplines. Sure, it would be incredibly useful when improving something like his archery, but when it came to something like ritual magic or even transmutation, a better understanding of concepts was far more valuable.

Especially the broad-spectrum understanding Jake could gain would prove useful. Even from his brief experience in gaining the skill, Jake had gleaned some insights into nomological laws that he believed he could apply. Small Feng Shui-like insights that would optimize and improve his magic circles going forward by a tiny bit.

One thing Jake found a little funny about the updated description was how the part from Serene Soul Meditation warning him that spending too long within his Soulspace was gone and had now been replaced with the warning that he shouldn’t stay in front of the Gate of Enlightenment for too long. Jake didn’t really feel like he needed a warning for that one, as the danger was self-evident, but oh well.

Overall, Jake was fully aware that the true value of his upgraded Meditate skill wasn’t something he would immediately feel. It wouldn’t instantly make him a lot stronger or suddenly make him realize all the secrets of the multiverse, but instead, it was another tool that would allow Jake’s potential to soar, allowing him to grow even stronger and hopefully remain the strongest person at his level.

… At least Jake didn’t think he would gain any immediate power boost from the upgrade. The thing is, Jake had kind of forgotten something. He’d felt the increase in power, but before now, he hadn’t even really thought about where it came from. However, as he scrolled down, he was reminded of something pretty damn important that he’d somehow kind of forgotten even existed:

Titles.

More accurately, the Prodigy titles. Jake’s Mythical Prodigy had already been great before, but now, it had been upgraded.

[Mythical Prodigy] – A genius ahead of the curve, not even the mythical eluding him. It feels as if your Path has barely begun, yet you refuse to be confined to the expectations of your station. Creating a mythical skill while below C-grade is no easy feat, and the achievement of a true myth in the making. Be proud, affirmed in your Path. +100 all stats +20% all stats

-->

[Sacred Prodigy] – A genius that has stepped beyond the curve, not even allowing that which is considered sacred to elude him. Your Path has truly begun to be defined, and by your own definition, you are a being that stands at the apex. Creating a sacred skill while below B-grade is a near-unprecedented accomplishment and the sign of a true sacred prodigy. May your Path continue to prove supreme as you are one step closer to divinity. +500 all stats +30% all stats

Jake had felt himself grow more powerful after getting the Meditate upgrade, but seeing as he’d just been in quite a weird state, he hadn’t been entirely sure if what he felt was correct. The stats from the levels also factored in to make Jake think it was just that, but now, it had become clear exactly where all the extra stats came from.

The title had been upgraded to give not only 400 more to all stats compared to before, but also an extra 10% to all stats, stacking additively with all his other amplifiers. Given that Jake now had more than 100% more to all stats from all his many titles, that increase of 400 was in reality closer to a thousand in all stats.

To put it in perspective, Jake got around 200 stats per level in his race. In other words, this title was roughly equivalent to 18 race levels, seeing as there were nine stats in total. Of course, Jake only got race levels when he also gained profession and class levels, but this title was still roughly five levels worth of pure stats. Adding on the ten percent extra, Jake couldn’t help but have a big grin from ear to ear.

In a short amount of time, Jake had managed to not only fix Palate of the Malefic Viper but also upgrade his Meditate skill to an all-new rarity that had netted him a massive title, making him noticeably stronger. His profession was also nearly maxed out by now, leaving only his class straggling.

Not to worry, because Jake planned on getting that caught up sooner rather than later. He still had a dragon to hunt after all. But before that, Jake had two important things to do.

The first thing he had to do came as the result of perhaps the only downside of all Jake’s recent upgrades. Seeing as he’d just gotten a lot of extra stats and whatnot, he definitely needed to craft a lot of new batches of both poisons and potions for his upcoming hunt. If not, he feared his old ones would feel inadequate. A truly relatable struggle that he was sure all other C-grades could totally empathize with.

Secondly, perhaps an even more important immediate task. Maybe, just maybe, Jake should actually open his eyes and speak to the two gods impatiently waiting for him to get his shit together and stop feeling proud of himself while reading his system descriptions.

"The Malefic Viper did have to agree that waiting for Jake to fully wake up wasn’t the most satisfying experience" We all feel your pain, Villy! Okay, WE did get to see what Jake was doing, though :)

GeneralBlack

So sacred is after mythical... Do you guys think divine is after that like villys shroud?

Simon Andriessen

wait wait wait he can't use his sphere of perception when meditating? Or does it still work because it's a bloodline ability, not covered by the system description of his skill? He couldn't use it this time though, so maybe it is restricted? Then that's a huge weakness, no?

joel southard

Thank you for the chapter

Ira White

Probably not. There is probably atleast one more rank between sacred and divine.

Kirin

Thank you for the chapter!

TheDwiin

TYFTC! Also, if Jake is a disciple of the First Sage, that would make Villy his senpai!

Kyler

Thought it was 2 charges he used not five?

effigy

Ooh

Luis

Five charges for the meeting with the First Sage

Ritsu

I think his Sphere would be cut off because he voluntarily cuts it to focus more. But his survival instinct has overridden his conscious will before, so I can see that forcefully yanking him back if he's in any real danger. I doubt he'd go on a conceptual trip anywhere except the Order anyway.

BumAssBumAss

Zogarth having to put the statement that Jake was nowhere near divine but just another step to divinity. So many people were stating that Jake was a half god in the last chapter. Definitely too early for that. Jake is not the first sage. I'm glad we finally stepped beyond mythical. This meditation definitely needs to be used with time dilation.

Ira White

Jake definitely needs to get all his viper skills to mythic before he upgrades to b grade. A few of his archery skills too. Why wouldn't you max out as much as possible for better rewards?

itsdlow

TFTC! I am absolutely loving these progress— B-grade is so close!

Villy gonna make a prophet joke.

That title makes the dragon hunt plausible as it probably pushes him to weak to mid b grade level in stats while staying in c grade. The gap between a b grade dragon and himself in raw stats will be greatly reduced.

Damn that’s a great boost! Loved this chapter, can’t wait for the next few. 😎👍🏼 How does Zogarth keep this hype train of a story going nonstop AND build it up more and more so with every chapter so perfectly still to this day despite its length!?! 👏 👏 👏 I don’t ever wanna get off this train and I hope it never stops 👍🏼😂👍🏼 Thank you for the chapter!! 🍻

Takoda Heitz

Good chapter for sure. I like sacred

KenTX325

I thought the math was messed up with the new title, but I guess it’s referring to the difference between the old title and the new title. That’s a little confusing. It might be about time for a stat sheet update. I’d also like to see Jake work on using the soul flame cradle while he’s at the order and has guidance.

Posiden 300

I want to see if the new rarity will shock them. Time for Artemis to take care of him while he recovers again. When will Jake see Villys family in one of his peeks into records.

Jana

It’s going to be a fun recounting about the system tatteling on Villys past again. „What did it show you this time?“ „You swallowing the concepts of a whole world..“ „You’ll have to narrow that down…“ „Pretty sure you double crossed literally every other person involved.“ „That doesn’t help…“

Ra

At this point, we'll need a whole chapter for just stats, lol.

Demi

Can't wait to see the new Palate and Meditate skills show up in the dragon fight. Let's alchemize those new bane potions and get hunting!

PathOfPen

He can't - it sounds too hard to get another 7 upgrades for his legacy skills in C-grade. Maybe he'll get one or two. But keep in mind that this is already beyond what he was supposed to do. He already upgraded everything from Legendary (D-grade) to Legendary (C-grade), making them give him 9 stats per level up from 3. The Mythical upgrades actually don't give him extra stats in C-grade, and I believe they are only going to start showing their worth in B-grade, making the stats go up to 27 or something per level. Basically, Jake is like a student that already completed his homework for C-grade and then started working on his assignments for B-grade (get every legacy skill to Mythical)

Noah Mclelland

I just finished a 13.5hr shift and I still decided to read this before bed. Worth it tho

djthomp

Based on the way the Prodigy title upgraded it does sound like Sacred is the next skill rarity step after Mythical. Since Legendary Prodigy gave +10% stats and Mythical Prodigy gave +20%, the new Sacred version of the title giving +30% is in line with the pattern. That does beg the question what could be next, Sacred to Divine seems reasonably fitting as the next jump but at the rate Jake's is progressing he's going to run out of room to keep upgrading that Prodigy title every grade before godhood.

Rewdan

I agree I’m constantly excited and blown away by what I’m reading, this is not getting stale anytime soon.

Rewdan

Zogarth you did it again, I’m blown away by this chapter, this story is still fresh, still exciting. Thank you.

Corvid

That made me think I had a stroke for a second until I worked out what you did. Straight up 100% forced a soft reset of my brain

Corvid

I like how the description added "by your own definition" you are a being at the apex. Sassy system

Nate

"You seduced a woman and used her and her father as poison smoke bombs?" "I know you're going to think I'm taking the piss, but we're still talking about dozens of..." "Eye of the Magus" "OOOOOH, that's right, yeah I remember that one" "So you don't even remember anything but the treasures you got?" "Jake, let's not pretend to be surprised here..."

Mikesch

I imagine a little sign next to the door of enlightenment, saying: "Caution! Danger ahead" with a drawn Jake whose head just exploded

Mikesch

Poor Villy needs to cough up even more money. At this rate, he will need to start a "fund me" for his chosen

Boomer

"I'm going to touch him if he keeps pretending to meditate." Villy to Artemis "Go ahead his danger sensing is better than mine so he'll react before I knew you were actually going to do it. I'd be faster in moving but that's besides the point."

BumAssBumAss

Now that I'm thinking about it, Jake got legendary prodigy at e-grade, mythical prodigy at d-grade, and now scared prodigy at C-grade. Going by this pattern, there is a prodigy title at b-grade to achieving something before a-grade and so on. This implies only 3 more rarities until divine rarity.

Corvid

Reminds me of the bit from hwfwm with the warning signs and video of Clive's mom leading to the astral gate

Ty Cooper

Tftc! So how long till Jake sets the goal of making the Villy skills sacred? That is if he can and it is not just related to the gate. Which I think sacred is when a touch of divine is incorporated into a skill. The reason no one talks about it is that it is restricted knowledge to the gods, peek s-grades, and anyone who has gotten a sacred skill. Imo at least. I cannot wait to see what all the FS left in the tome. Lol this is the c-grade version for the tome. Jake is going to start meditating even more now. I am starting to wonder what all the dao sect will be able to teach him. From the colosseum of mortals we know they will meet. And probably for an extended time like at the POL.

Russell Widger

Remember that going from grade to grade re-evaluates skill rarity. So what he has ar sacred now in D grade might only be mythical or lower in A or S grade

Pekka Kohonen

Is Jake now going to upgrade all of his remaining skills? Maybe to legendary. At least. I think identify is still lower than that. Also One-Step and of course “Archery”. Although archery should def. Be a Mythic for a hunter.

David Hall

Another Banger chapter, i guess its time to recap with Jake's "kids"

Dallin S

I like how at the end of the last chapter he said he was going to wake from meditation and then just spent the whole chapter not waking up at least completely.

kandiana

Definitely not. He will upgrade some, but not all. It's not like he will spend decades meditating on upgrades after all

Xander

TFTC :) If Jake used a drop from the Viper statue to bump the bane poison to Ancient would that feel like cheating? Suggested edits: "leaving only his class *straggling*." Though a group can have straggler/s this is an odd form of the word and feels and sounds weird. "Lagging" has the meaning of "failing to keep up with others" and is more usual, "stalled" is also a decent substitute.

Chris Connolly

Oooooo I’m hoping after Jake kills this dragon he just sucks it up into his palette. Maybe with that thing in there when he evolves it will fast track his scales upgrade

Oblivion

Right, so at what grade does he gain insights on the concepts of Origin and will there be a First Sage chapter for him when he does?

Kris Boxall

Thanks for the awesome chapter! But I don't’ think Jake gets 100% more to all his stats from his titles

Potato Sandwich1

Ik this doesn't pertain to the chapter at all, but I've recently had a theory. Due to Jake's ability to call on the primeval origins of things, I have the feeling that once he reaches godhood, he may be able to gain the title of primordial, despite not being a god from the 1st era

RnR_ RnR

Right!? We're what 14 ish books in? And its still so damn good!

DeAndrea H

Idk. From what we’ve seen of that dragon, she probably has trash records.

RnR_ RnR

Oh that poor poor dragon... 1000 per stat is quite a bump. Doesn't he still need to absorb that piece of yip?

Samuel Nelson

Nice theory, but I hope you're wrong. Even when he ascends, he still won't be anywhere near the Apex. He'll still be a little g god in a multiverse of bigger little g gods.

DeAndrea H

Getting a Sacred title makes me wonder if there is a Sacrilege title. We saw Ell Hakkan’s Absolute Delusion title so the system has wiggle room!

Prospects

I don’t think that will happen before the dragon fight, he will probably use it to empower the starlight heart anyway.

Spencer Miller

Ooh, NEAR-unprecedented. That implies a very small number. Who was it? Obvious answer is the Fist Sage, but I don’t think the System would put forbidden knowledge in a skill description like that.

Samuel Nelson

So, as we stand, the rarities are: Inferior Common Uncommon Rare Epic Ancient Legendary Mythic Sacred ... Divine I call that "Celestial" is either the next step, or the last before Divine.

David

How long till he brags to Arnold

Spencer Miller

Ignoring titles that give to individual stats… Holder of a Primordial’s True Blessing gives 10%, Prodigious Slayer of the Mighty gives 10%, Progenitor of the 93rd Universe gives 15%, Nevermore All-Star Challenger gives 5%, Peerless Conqueror of Nevermore gives 15%, and now Sacred Prodigy gives 30%. That’s 85%. I didn’t look through the individual-stat-boosting titles, but it’s at minimum close.

Ed

I don't know how you are doing it but the story just keeps getting better, which is very rare. Thanks

WhiteLeeopard

Someone else could have gained sacred for other skills, though it may well be the first time for meditation (not counting FS)

Daniel

Dragon hunting and then B-Grade, sounds epic. Super excited for B grade, bruh, B-Grade Nevermore will be legendary. Assembling the team would be hard core too. Maybe, change team members to have different dynamics. Another 93rd universe event would be fun too, idk, if it would be before or after Nevermore. There could even be more stakes too with how everything is set up. Nevermore will honestly give a lot of opportunities for Villy and Artemis to shine, as Jake is not powerful to deal with the hidden gods (this wouldn’t really be a Jake centered arc realistically, Jake would just be a piece on the chess board).

Devillelouch

Hopefully the full list is laid out in the next 2 chapters because I really worry for A-S grade. The downgrade system I already thought was good, with the added levels within the grade system. Adding in sacred, celestial, and etc just over complicates it. The gap between Divine and Inferior is already enormous. There really should be tons of downgrading when evolving to B grade that probably wont happen. You have to picture what Jakes sheet should look like in S grade. 1 Divine, 15 Sacred Skills, 10 Mythical, 8 Legendary? That just feels top heavy. I would much rather see Jake have some Common/Rare/ Epic Skills mixed in. Class/Race Currently Unique 3 Divine 1 Sacred 1 Mythical 4 Legendary 6 Ancient 7 Epic 3 ^ This is not good because more skills should become common or rare as Jake goes up the levels.

A Flashy BR

Sacred Awesome tyftc!!

Ain’t the World wonder back in the Milky Way just waiting for Jake and Friends to reach B grade? To claim the seats of the exalted prima thing

Joseph Jenkins

It would be kind of hilarious if by the time he hits god, he knows how to control the primeval energy enough to where he can transmute his god records into being a Primordial

Ben Cox

Called it, I didn't have a guess for the name but sacred seems like a great next step in rarity after mythical. Can't wait to see what Artemis and Villy gave to say about this. Tyftc

TYTFC, I skipped my last day of class. Very happy.

ABTelford

Great chapter! I loved the bit where Villy wonders if he’s a senior brother to Jake. 🥰😄. Then the ending line made me grin. Thanks Author!

ABTelford

I’ll add my speculations to the pot: I’m excited for the Demon Realm wedding!!! The dragon hunt will probably be fun but predictable. I’ve no clue what to expect from the demon wedding!! Also the Prima event in the Milky Way Galaxy but that will be a huge story arc probably encompassing several other smaller story arcs just like last time. Yay! Fun times ahead!

Seen Death

Moment is only activated in... moments where he would take critical damage, so while it may be possible id highly reccomend not doing that then lol A safer bet would be to use his dissapearing skill at a critical time though, but while the main attack missed i bet theyd be able to set up a even worse one while waiting for him to return

Daryl

Great chapter! Excited to hear Villy's thoughts tomorrow. And I'm curious about how Jake compares to others from his universe; he's got to be leagues ahead of the King and the Sword Saint at this point, right?

Dennis Damenis

Sword Saint and Jake rematch for the win! Bloodline versus Transcendence, let's go!!! Hopefully right after the dragon hunt as the final cap for C Grade. That would be freaking epic.

Cory S.

That is one thing I am really really looking forward. Hearing about Villy’s wife and child and what lead to their deaths and what we all assume was what lead to Villy wiping out a part of a universe.

khielira

Not sure enough time for another drop to form. But it might not improve the bane poison in the right sense

Stephen

Leagues beyond them in certain aspects, but probably not all of them.

Tftc

InSomniaut

That would honestly be hilarious, like boom I’m a god now… nah that’s not enough let’s make me a primordial

Thenais

looks pretty much like a textbook definition of a demigod :p

Microwavey

I love the idea of Villy treating Jake like a junior mentor. It evokes that heretic-chosen dynamic seeing how they both treat each other like equals. I think eventually the system is going to reward Jake for being a heretic-chosen just for acting casual with Villy and the other primordials but in public lol

Nairne

The hunt is probably the thing that will happen sooner.

Koof Tron

Now Jake has to brag to Miamoto so he gets butthurt and tries to make his own sacred skill!

Dragon

I don’t really want to see them fight again. As they are rn Jake would be too powerful for the sword saint. But if the old man can get some lucky encounters I think them rematching in S grade would be very fun.

Alex

Miyamoto is far too mature to react like that. When he found out that Jake was aiming for a Mythic skill before evolving to C grade, he decided to do the same thing. That action wasn’t spurred on by pettiness, he just realized he’d been aiming too low by being content with Legendary skills, and he was inspired by Jake’s determination. I can imagine he’d have a similar reaction if he found out Jake created a Sacred skill before B grade — although I’d be surprised if he manages to do the same since Jake only pulled it off with a LOT of help from the First Sage.

Walter Kimberly

Wow… just wow. Amazing chapter Zogarth 🤯

The power scaling on this series is done so well!!

That one, right there.

Anyone else think that more than anything else Villy wants to know about the gazebo?

Great chappie, one minor stylistic thing tho. At the start of the chapter when Villy has his inner monologue about Jakes new meditation skill, he thinks "to be clear, ..." Which is just a little odd to think to yourself. Kinda feels like an aside in a play, like Villy just turned to the viewer and said "let me clarify". Not a big deal at all just kinda stood out to me

Tyfc! You think Villy has been stocking some choice herbs and mushrooms for Jake to eat now his palate is fixed, since he's so behind on eating things. Ya know since he needs to eat all the healthy greens..and blues, and other colors...

Arieh Sochaczevski

I’m really hoping Jake tells Villy all about the vision in front of Artemis. Her reactions to that kind of information would be fun!

Thanks for the chapter!

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Seems like I complained to early when I thought Mythical was too low a rarety for his new meditate. It wouldn’t surprise me if the First sage was fully stacked with sacred skills considering what he did shouldn’t have been possible by a mortal

Jon Lomax

Tftc, the dao of the cliffhanger is still going strong...

Keion

I think it’s about time for another all out battle with a seasonal cut or two the the miyamoto before they’re fights destroy worlds

beeve

Nah he had a bunch of transcendent skills.. also didn’t he have a skill that could create new skills?

Toni

Senior brother Villy!

Sean

I can't believe we didn't get to the conversation between him & Villy yet after coming back. Argh! Hurry up & keep posting this great story already!!

Nick Brakhage

I enjoy how you have Jake as the main POV, and he does a lot of guessing, or shrugging and moving on when it comes to some of the bigger events around him. Then you have Villy's POV to give a more accurate view of what is happening. Without too much ping ponging back and forth.

Will

Can’t wait for Villy to talk about (or be confused about) the secret peak faction!

Alex Lane

My wild theory is that Jake's effect on people also alows them to hear forbidden knowledge and Artemis will be able to hear about the First Sage.

Fyrtue

He tried telling her about him before they first started practicing archery and she couldn't know.

Abdulaziz ALRumaih

I really want villy to ask Jake if he could call him Senpai

Trumangolorian

High risk high reward right? Tyftc.

tyftc! Also, first it said +500 stats & 30%, then the next line it said 400 & 10% - I'm assuming it's some kind of error? :)
