Jake needed a moment to process that statement. The strongest faction in the multiverse back then, yet its representative was from a race Jake didn’t even recognize. What confused Jake even more was the good chance that this person was enlightened, and Villy had a track record back then of not really liking the enlightened, yet here he was working with one.

“As long as you abide by your promises and our partnership remains mutually beneficial, there is no reason to terminate it,” the weird robot man responded.

“See, that’s why I like you guys. Easy to talk to and very straight with what you want without being caught up in any unnecessary sappiness,” the future Primordial chuckled while shaking his head.

“Now, we should probably get out of here sooner rather than later.”

“Certainly,” the robot man nodded. “The alliance has no doubt already dispatched an investigation team, and the Golden Road Emporium also won’t accept this outcome but demand reparations should we be identified as culprits.”

“Exactly,” the Viper nodded again. “I assume you have one of those things?”

The person who was apparently part of the most powerful race in the universe revealed his hand once more as the liquid metal took the shape of a nine-fingered hand holding an odd device. Without speaking any words, he tossed the device away from him, and a moment later, space cracked apart and formed what looked like a hole in reality.

“You first,” the Viper said cheekily.

“Harming you will not reap any benefits,” the man said, looking at the dragon.

“Oh, I know. Still, you first,” the Viper insisted.

Seemingly not bothering to take that fight, the robot man just nodded as he walked into the hole in space. The Viper smiled as he also stepped toward the hole, but right before he entered it, he took something out of his spatial storage and let it drop toward the desolate planet below.

With a sly smile, he followed the robot man as both disappeared to who-knows-where. Jake wasn’t sure what the Viper had dropped there at the end, only that it looked like some odd sheet of metal. He wanted to try to investigate further, but the second the Viper was through the portal, his connection to his Patron’s past self was severed, and the vision was rapidly coming to an end.

Jake began to steel himself for what would come next. The Path of the Heretic-Chosen ended, so would his system-granted mind protection that had allowed him to stay clear-headed thus far. He had managed to assimilate many of the concepts flooding his body already, but not all of them were done, and he had to entirely stabilize himself before he could safely disengage his consciousness and return to the real world.

Just one more step, and all his plans would come to fruition with a result perhaps even better than he’d initially hoped for. Of course, that one step wasn’t necessarily easy, and with a steeled mind, the vision ended, and he returned in both body and mind.

--

“You told me to wait, but where did he-“ Artemis was saying, a bit panicked after Jake had somehow disappeared from the room through means she, as a Godqueen, couldn’t fully identify.

However, just then, Jake returned. As he did, she felt a powerful flash of the Malefic Viper’s aura flood the room as it mixed with the slight presence of divinity also released by Jake’s improvements to his Meditate skill.

Artemis still had a lot of questions, but before she could ask any of them, she noticed something else.

“His soul...”

“Yep, seems like that did the job,” the Malefic Viper nodded proudly as he seemingly decided to volunteer some information to Artemis. “A pretty good approach, too, I must say. He purposefully broke my temporary repairs to get full access to the broken skill, and alongside the extreme levels of universal insight he got from taking in a shitload of concepts, he managed to use that special skill of his while focusing on Palate. During the process, he replaced the Records he’d lost when he initially broke the skill while even gaining some on top.”

“I’m still not entirely sure what Jake did, but from that brief explanation, what Jake did was unbelievably risky and could have gone wrong in so many ways,” Artemis said with exasperation.

“Oh, for sure, I’m kind of amazed it went so well, but also give credit where credit is due. Besides, this is Jake’s MO. Extreme risk for extreme rewards,” the Malefic Viper said with a slight chuckle.

“Yeah...” Artemis sighed, only able to agree with that statement. “Now let’s hope he can bring everything together and return.”

“Yep,” the Viper nodded. “Man, wouldn’t it be funny if he somehow managed to fuck something up at this-“

Artemis threw the Viper a look that made even the Primordial stop talking as he raised his hands in defense. “As I was saying, I’m sure he’ll be back shortly.”

--

Jake’s mind returned to the odd world he’d peered into using his Truesoul as a catalyst. He also vaguely got the feeling that his physical body had returned, but for now, he was far more focused on keeping his full mental faculties.

Instinctively, the first thing he did was retreat away from the massive gate that still had cracks in it. The further he retreated, the less he felt exposed to the leakage of concepts, giving him time to gather his thoughts.

Luckily, things had gone as Jake had hoped during his vision. The vast majority of the concepts flooding his mind had either been absorbed during the vision or expelled into nothingness.

He still had a lot of wayward thoughts swimming through his mind, and for some reason, he felt that he now had a far better understanding of why water was wet and why fire was hot, alongside many other minor and utterly inconsequential insights.

Sitting down and focusing within the odd realm he’d connected to through his meditation, Jake worked to fully calm himself and either absorb or expel the rest of the concepts. However, after a bit of time, it became clear he wouldn’t be able to fully do so because of the constant leakage from the gate.

Whenever he expelled one thought, another would invade his mind just as fast. To be clear, this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, this was exactly what he’d wanted out of this skill upgrade in the first place, but a part of Jake had hoped for it to be a little more controlled.

He could only begin to imagine what it would feel like to exist in this realm without the gate there. His mind would have been flooded with constant, high-level concepts, consuming him instantly as he lost his sense of self. Even now, he felt echoes of the risk lingering.

When trying to comprehend higher concepts, one had to become one with the world, but in doing so, one risked losing the ability to separate oneself from nature. There was definitely some high-level philosophical stuff going on with it all, but in classic Jake fashion, he didn’t want to think too much about it. In fact, even this brief exposure made it clear how Jake wanted to continue dealing with comprehending concepts.

Jake simply wasn’t the type to ponder for eons and seek deep meaning. He wasn’t some monk from the Dao Sect, and while he would probably have plenty of long meditation sessions in the future, Jake would rely on instincts rather than philosophy.

Slowly, Jake began making progress, but he also realized that it would simply take a bit of time for him to fully absorb all the concepts still occupying his mind. Seeing as he didn’t seek to comprehend them, he decided to do something else to distract his mind and make time pass faster:

Checking out his new Palate of the Malefic Viper upgrade.

Bringing up the description, Jake focused on it as he read everything thoroughly while comparing it to what it was before the upgrade.

[Palate of the Malefic Viper (Mythical)] – The Malefic Viper has eternally honed his Path by devouring myriad toxins, treasures, and even the laws of nature found throughout the multiverse. In the same vein, the Alchemist of the Malefic Viper can consume toxins and most beneficial alchemical ingredients to learn their effects and properties while even enjoying a greater benefit from all potions consumed. Natural treasures can be swallowed and refined at an accelerated pace using your current level of Touch of the Malefic Viper (Legendary). If the item is not a toxin, it will still be refined, but at a slower pace. Allows you to learn the properties of any treasure in your stomach as you slowly refine it. Allows the Alchemist to fully consume a swallowed item, destroying it in the process if possible. If the item cannot be destroyed or the result of its destruction is too violent, the Alchemist will suffer a backlash, and the internal space may be damaged. Additionally, the alchemist can swallow energies and concepts from the surrounding area to fill his internal stomach, allowing the alchemist to affect the environment within. Swallowed items will slowly absorb compatible Records and concepts that occupy the internal space, empowering them further and allowing them to improve or even evolve. Concepts and energies that have been swallowed will slowly be absorbed or disappear over time. Grants immunity or resistance to most poisons. Passively provides 9 Endurance per level in Heretic-Chosen Alchemist of the Malefic Viper (C-grade variant). Through endless consumption, may your power grow; through gluttony, may your Records and knowledge expand as you devour the world.

So, lots of changes, though that shouldn’t come as a surprise, seeing the jump in rarity. Firstly, the flavor text had been cleaned up a bit here and there, which had removed some of the wording, but the description was probably still the longest Jake had in his repertoire. Not that it mattered overly much, as Jake didn’t sit and read his skill descriptions all day, and the longer they were, the more the skill could do. Besides, the most important parts of any upgrade and all he truly focused on were the changes to the skill’s actual effects.

A big one was, of course, the ability to now swallow energies and concepts just like the Malefic Viper had done. Granted, Jake probably wasn’t at the level of being able to suck an entire planet dry, but that didn’t mean Jake couldn’t be an absolute menace now.

He even felt that, should he truly try, he could now do something he hadn’t been capable of before: create desolation. The thought was a bit scary, and Jake wanted to test it in a safe environment, but he would have ample time to do that later.

On a quick side note, no, Jake wouldn’t be able to consume the concepts within this odd realm with the golden gate, as technically, Jake wasn’t actually there. He was, but not really. It was weird.

Anyway, Jake also knew from the instinctive knowledge he’d gotten that this upgrade allowed him to do even more than merely fill the environment within his internal stomach with concepts and energies. It also granted him more control over the internal space than before, likely as an auxiliary effect, allowing him to filter and cleanse some of what he received that he found undesirable.

In some ways, Jake would likely be better at this than the Viper, seeing as he had his arcane affinity. Jake’s arcane affinity remained the only affinity Jake knew that he could make utterly incapable of reacting with anything. With stable arcane energy, he could likely control and isolate certain aspects with great precision and control, and then, once isolated, he could introduce a bit of the destructive variant of his arcane affinity – something that had the exact opposite effect, as it reacted with anything and everything, seeking to destroy it.

This ability to isolate and control the internal stomach was also more important than ever due to another extremely significant change Jake now noticed: the limit of one consumed item at a time had disappeared.

The entire internal stomach had grown far bigger and far more powerful than before, allowing Jake not only to swallow more potent treasures, but more of them… at least it would under normal circumstances. See, rather than limit the number of treasures Jake could consume, it now felt more like he had a limit to how potent the combined energy of all consumed treasures could be.

That’s to say, Jake could swallow an entire lake of low-rarity herbs if he so desired, but he still wouldn’t be able to consume something too powerful, even if it was only one item.

Speaking of consuming one incredibly powerful item… the reason Jake still felt a little full was due to what he’d already swallowed before. As a small reminder, Jake had initially broken his Palate of the Malefic Viper in part because he had decided to try to swallow half a desolation-corrupted World Core.

Truthfully, Jake had been a little worried that even if he fixed Palate, he would still have problems with that core; however, he was pleasantly surprised to see that wasn’t the case. Jake had definitely been way too weak to consume it back when he had done so initially, but now? Now, Jake was more than capable of not only consuming it but refining and absorbing whatever benefits he could gain from it.

Perhaps it was good Jake had aimed for this mythical rarity upgrade, as there was a chance that if he hadn’t, he wouldn’t be able to stomach the core.

Moving on, there were a few more aspects to the upgrade. The description now mentioned that items he absorbed could evolve, which was something Jake hadn’t even considered. It opened up the possibility of Jake eating something relatively low-rarity that he knew could evolve to something great in the future.

Given his newfound ability to tailor the environment, he could borderline decide the evolution path of certain things. Yeah, Jake definitely saw some possibilities there. Perhaps that was the biggest point of this entire evolution. Jake felt that it had opened up a lot of future possibilities, even if it wasn’t necessarily that useful right now.

Outside of the fact that all existing aspects of the skill had also been increased, of course, making Jake’s ability to learn from consumed poisons more potent and even making potions he chugged even better than before.

Actually, as Jake compared the two once more, he noticed one more minor change that had to be mentioned. Before the skill stated that if Jake failed to fully and instantly consume a natural treasure he’d eaten, he would suffer a backlash and have his internal space damaged. Now, it had changed to saying that he “may” damage his internal space. A single word changed, but with a massive impact, as it was a testament to just how durable the internal stomach was now.

Jake was really looking forward to fully exploring all he could now eat and to expanding his palate even further... but all of that was for later. For now, it was time for Jake to leave this odd place, and as he refocused on his own soul body, he realized that he had now rid himself of the lingering concepts for the most part.

Having taken this time to distract himself, Jake felt his mind was now fully clear as he took a deep breath. With eyes wide open, he stared at the massive gate one last time, seeking to consolidate all his insights and all his practice. Everything came together as his body emanated power, true success imminent.

As Jake was enveloped in this powerful energy and felt himself resonate with the entire realm and the golden gate, something moved. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a few golden pages floating through nothingness, fluttering as they gave off faint echoes of power. Jake flashed a faint smile and gave silent thanks before he closed his eyes, intent on being fully awake the next time he opened them.

I get the distinct feeling that Jake is in for some snu snu considering how stressed out Artemis was.

Thank you for the chapter

Violet

If I could time travel I’d just go a few years in the future so I could read more. I wonder what Jake will do now? Dragon hunting?

Jack

Maybe the reason we haven't heard about this faction or race before is because they are the one's responsible for what happened to Villy's wife and kids and his rampage was him completely wiping then from existence

brjenness

Jake Thayne, concept vampire

Shadowessence

Im hoping Jake pretends to wake up with no memory to mess with Villy,

Dan

So, I imagine finding and opening that gate is the evolutionary wall that S-Grades hit, especially since Gods can't actually talk about it. That means our boy has already overcome the biggest hurdle to godhood, besides actually leveling up

BumAssBumAss

Moment of truth Bois. Is meditate going to be another mythical skill or something beyond?

David

Jake's only true weakness! Death by snu snu!

PathOfPen

I’m really hoping the Meditation skill gets upgraded to whatever comes after Mythical and that Jake’s title gets upgraded for more percentage stats because of it.

Arieh Sochaczevski

Is Jake going to swallow Tom now? Cause him to evolve?

Mohammed Sheekh

So in simple terms, he has a giant kitchen in his soul where he can absorb concepts to empower treasures he has stored within himself, increasing their rarity. Nice.

Is it just me or was the writing a bit different this chapter? A few sentences here and there that read more like author commentary

Charles Axelrad

The only problem with this chapter is that I want more! lol

Mohammed Sheekh

His Meditation skill gotta be at least legendary too

Ghast Renave

Thank you for the chapter!

Devillelouch

What being uses desolation? Draskil, Dungeon, Demon Prince? Or is the joke that Jake damaged his core for a useless item?

kaimen jones

I wonder if the 9 levels of Gods into God king/ queen all require a gate or wall to overcome. When villy fought yip he mentioned he hit several walls and overcame them all

Jennifer Leigh

Could be. This chapter was finishing up a part that was less action and more thinking so some author's snark could have crept in with Jake and Villy's snark.

Kyle Stitt

What a ride

Jennifer Leigh

The Viper. Plus, I think it's part of the Malific affinity. So Draskil's breath weapon.

djthomp

Artemis being (temporarily, at least) comfortable enough with Villy to glare at him hard enough that he shuts up is pretty delightful. That new ability to consume energy and concepts feels like something that should come in handy for the upcoming dragon fight. I wonder how many levels Jake is going to get from this. The Palete upgrade should be good for some profession levels, and whatever the Meditate upgrade ends up looking like ought to be a feat worth something too but I'm not sure it feels profession related. Maybe on the heretic side of things, claiming a bit of divinity as a mortal?

Devillelouch

Divine and it is annoyingly likely. Annoying because he is still C grade. So the antagonist is going to have to be crazy strong.

djthomp

If I'm remembering correctly didn't Jake create Eternal Shadow as a mythical skill in D grade? To keep the pattern going he needs to create something better than mythical in C grade and this feels like the perfect opportunity for it.

Fyrtue

No idea if it will pan out this way, but it'd be very interesting if Jake doesn't have the same restriction gods do in talking about this aspect of meditate. Like imagine Viridia is struggling with the last step towards divinity and Jake just goes, "Yeah that sounds rough. Have you tried meditating like this?" Then boom godhood.

levon

Since Jake did not step through the gate I do not think he gains the divine level skill. But semi-divine? Something usually only s-ranks have?

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

Ira White

Shouldn't Jake just upload everything to Sagacity isnt that its entirety purpose?

MrCynical

Could be. But also pretty sure Villy meant that far less literally. The wall Jake saw was a subconscious expression to protect his ego. One of the walls we already know Villy was stuck at for centuries or even millennial was when he'd eradicated all life on his planet of origin and sat on the mountain peak screaming his rage at the sky thinking he would be alone there forever before finally braving the stars.

Greendalf

It’s been hinted that there could be a skill level between mythical and devine- wouldn’t surprise me if meditation got there. Maybe called transcendent?

monymoo

Kind of miss when Jake was trying to figure out concepts to better skills n stuff lately feels more like it's all bloodline n not much brain n shit just works out

Carfmodyios

Thanks for the chapter

TFTC :) This is not so much an edit as a request for clarification but "strongest faction in the multiverse" implies theres a multiverse. This is happening before Villy is a god which means there is only the 1st universe. Why are they referring to anything as a multiverse? nm. only Jake says Multiverse so could be written off as a slip of the...mind i suppose :) Suggested edits: "outcome but demand *repairs* should" should be "reparations" "and he had to *fully* stabilize himself before he could safely disengage his consciousness and *fully* return to the real world" repetitive. Ditch either.

Cory S.

Thank you for making Tuesday a great day. A lot to ponder and a lot to look forward to. Thank you for the chapter.

Burkhard Mittelbach

My guess is that this skill is the difference between a God and a max level S-grade. So im not sure there is a semi-divine version

Shaibene

That would be confusing, since there are already Transcendent powers that are separate from the rarity level

David Hall

Fingers crossed for Primal Meditation. Maybe this will be the upgrade that shows us what's between Mythical and Divine rank

MrCynical

He literally planned the the with the heretic chosen skill out ahead of time. And figured out that meditation was extremely important to every god to understanding concepts with examples of how he figured it out. That's very much a big brain move.

Oooh! Thanks for the chapter!

That’s what’s happening in the last two paragraphs! His meditation session is not over.

Ok chat, I need a refresher. What is the little *lantern* item that refines an *elemental*? Couldn't he choose a high level arcane variant and further upgrade it with Palate?

I wonder if Jake will keep leaking devinity or if it will stopp, once he steps out of the realm. If not, Shroud will have to do some work I guess. New Shroud description: Fixes 99% of all divine leakages

How sly Villy is to set up the robots fraction for the revenge of the death of the planet! Wonder exactly what he dropped….. I have a feeling though that Villy is keeping the Eye of the Magnus for himself…..

Orgack20

Great chapter.

Is divine the rank above mythical?

Calum

I assume this is the race/faction that would go on to create Rigoria?

William WIlson

Am I the only one interested in the eels in Jake's personal pond? I know they are weak but considering they have been basically living next to Jake's world core i wonder what sort of changes have happened

JB

I could be mixing up books but hasn't celestial come up as the in between rarity?

DirePants

I read that as universe in my mind. I think because like you I’m aware that it was the first era. So maybe it’s a typo or maybe something we’re not privy to yet? Like the first universe having already being integrated into the system, the second universe began integrating before the first had actually began creating gods? I doubt that’s the case, it’s just something I thought about as I read your comment.

Lemonsqueezy

This is what I have always assumed, but figured it was a rank that was achieved after reaching god-hood. Something that was achieved when skills were molded into something unique to the individual. When his skills go from having the "of the Malefic Viper" descriptor to having something like "of the Primal Hunter". Which is what I am assuming Jake's moniker will ultimately be considering it is the name of the book.

Lemonsqueezy

Zog, are these inserts of information like "On a quick side note, no, Jake wouldn’t be able to consume the concepts within this odd realm with the golden gate, as technically, Jake wasn’t actually there. He was, but not really. It was weird." something Jake is actually thinking or more of an author's note for the story?

Kaladin

Will his Aura/presence be intimidating for regular people now that it has a bit of divinity? Is it the divinity portion that normally scares and suppresses people around gods?

female person type thing

Random question. Could Jake use palate to swallow the soul flame item into an isolated area full of his arcane infinity to increase his chances to get a superior soul flame? Just thinking about how the soul flame item and the palate upgrade now share a seemingly similar funtion.

DirePants

I’ve had some experiences that remind me of what Jake went through with this meditation session. So much so that my heart was pounding while reading about it as the sensations and memories came back. I’m not going to say it instantly changed me. Although it’s not inaccurate to say it lead to a changing of my perception of things and that influenced certain changes overtime. I’m wondering if we’ll see Jake go through that too? I mean, like he stated, he’d rather go by intuition than philosophy, but as he’s absorbed new concepts and acquired new knowledge it’s impossible not to change your perspective even if it just solidifies your path. Will we see him have more thoughtful moments? More importantly will we see him approach his battles in new ways? Fighting battles by using opposing concepts and new novel approaches. Will he start to use and upgrade his abilities with these deeper understandings? So much to look forward to! Thank Zog!

ABTelford

It’ll totally stop. Or Jake will explode because he is not a god. I’m pretty sure.

Tucker Longstroth

The treasures he eats in the future would likely benefit greatly from Jake Juice

ABTelford

Love the chapter! Can’t wait to read Artemis and Villy’s reaction tomorrow and the grilling Jake will get. 😁

Tyftc!! 🍻

JW Saxby

I actually wondered this myself after reading this chapter. I’m curious to find out if your right 👍🏼

JW Saxby

Ooh. I wonder if he puts the Soul Cradle (that he is trying to make his arcane soul flame with) into his stomach, and then during his fight with the Lumenflight dragon he swallows some like “radiant dragons breath” or some shit like that to fast forward its creation 🤔

Ty Cooper

So will Jake be able to wield Desolation in the future? I know he can eat and cause Desolation now with palette but do you think he will be able to use it to cause opponents Desolation harm like villy did with the dragon welp on the child of Desolation in battle. Tftc. Great read as always.

New skill grade Incoming

Yiskah

Gonna be funny tomorrow when Villy doesn't remember any of that and it turns out the race in question is forbidden knowledge Villy lost prior to getting his bloodline skill...

I wonder if he can mix some of his Jake Juice with items in his Palate Stomach and make a super upgraded evolution item for some B-rank monster after he evolves

Walter Kimberly

Random question: Did Jake go through every evolution on his bed that he ganked from Villy’s challenge dungeon? For some reason I can’t remember E grade evolution.

Walter Kimberly

And if so imagine the records the bed would have if he evolved all the way to godhood on it

Daryl

Great chapter! I'm excited for the godly grilling and meditation upgrade I'm guessing are coming tomorrow. Lore dump us please, Villy!

Steven Myer

14 books and we finally get to what Jake has always wanted to do. Con the System into giving him a skill to be Mythical Level Fat Kid.

you made me think of the mini-budhas running around in dotf.

B9

Can finally have that Yip of Yore snack the viper saved for him

Carl Never

Im guessing he can and im stoked for it. Id like to see earths first dragon

Phil Ritter

Is it just me or does it feel like mythical is a low rating for his meditate skill considering what went into it and who assisted him. Sure it didn’t reach divine since he wasn’t able to fully open the door but didn’t Jake postulate a long time ago that there gotta be something above mythical and below divine? Edit: well looks like I should have more patience

Alex

The Viper says that C grades touching their Concept Gate (no idea if that’s what it’s actually called, but it’s what I’m going with for now) is unprecedented in the history of the Multiverse, with the probable exception of the First Sage. Mythic is definitely too low for a meditate skill that touches the gate, but since the gate isn’t actually open, Divine is too high. I’m expecting it’ll be some intermediate rarity between the two.

Am I the only one thinking he gained a new cauldron ?

Loststar7

Thanks for the chapter.

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

MrCynical

Nah mate. My money would be on making ones soul space or whatever into a divine realm is the wall. Making something totally internal into something others can visit gotta be one hell of a wall.

Deborah

Isn't this the first time Jake doesn't know what or who is around him?

Joken

Thought: Why should his meditation skill not be divine now? He has Shroud and can handle it, right? A C-grade divine skill can still be downgraded in level up and has lots of room for improvement.

patrick__starz

I think he was also able to suppress it enough that he couldnt sense anything outside of his body in Nevermore when confronting the Chosen of Yip

Alex

Shroud of the Primordial is a special case because it ISN'T Jake's skill, it's something he gets to borrow from the Viper because of his blessing. We don't know the exact details of the Divine rarity, so what follows is speculation on my part. I think Divine is a watershed rarity that marks the separation between Mortals and Gods. For a skill to receive the Divine rarity it MUST have reached the level of Godhood. I also think a Divine rarity skill wouldn't get downgraded when a Mortal increases their grade - it simply wouldn't make sense for that to happen because the skill being Divine indicates that it's beyond the Mortal realm. So, has Jake upgraded his meditate skill to the Divine rarity? I don't think he has. Jake speculates that Gods have a version of meditate that allows them to open the Concept Gate and experience what's on the other side. Jake hasn't done that with his meditate skill. In fact, he says that he'd DEFINITELY die if he did that. Jake's put a few cracks in the gate and gotten a sneak-peak of what he's got to look forward to. That's a huge achievement, but it doesn't elevate his skill to the level of what Gods get by default, which means it shouldn't be Divine rarity.

brjenness

Interesting how desolation removes concepts and Jake can now eat concepts. interesting to see how that works out.

brjenness

artemis will begin worrying about how quickly Jake will surpass her.

Georgia Guy-Williams

Because I've forgotten but where does the xp from a race skills go? Directly to race? Or split between profession and class evenly?

Erebos

I have a funny idea: What if Jake intentionally continues to suppress his bloodline, even though he subconsciously knows that if he does so he is strong enough to allow it to work to its full potential. Because deep down he knows that if he releases it and keeps it active there will be no more challenges. And that would be boring. We've already read what he can do with his bloodline at level zero, although there is a huge backlash, but now he is significantly stronger, especially with the upgrade of his soul and the crack in the gate. Another funny idea is for Jake to create concept avatars or something like that that focus entirely on a concept and then have Jake fight them. Jake learns these best in combat.

Kristopher Hanson

So ready for it to come out that villy framed that faction and in turn they found out, hunted him down and end up killing his wife with him going on a killing spree riding the universes of that faction before bleeding to be stopped and going into isolation.

Fdrugc

Tftc

Greg Alverson

I am betting that faction is gone because Villy framed them, but i dont think its involved with his wife, instead i think they are the mysterious faction that tried to capture Jake in the void. The object used to leave while not the same seemed similar.

As a small reminder, Jake had initially broken his Palate of the Malefic Viper in part because he had decided to try to swallow half a desolation-corrupted World Core. (Thought it was mainly from using Origin Energy on the skill?)
