Is anyone else seeing a marketing strategy, along the lines of a perfume ad? - Scene opens with a camera panning across a glass vial containing a pale orange liquid falling onto a shallow pool of thick green liquid - causing a small splash of the blood of the malefic viper. The camera zooms to a tight crop and focus of the settled vial featuring a viper insignia. Artemis voiceover says “‘Thayne’ - from the House of the Malefic’s Chosen” - end scene. Thanks for the chapter! It doesn’t make any sense that the portions could be a problem for anyone. Even the people producing relatively lower quality portions should be fine. The market is literally infinite in size. Give them to Sultan to handle, with instructions on what you want done. Jake doesn’t want money? Tell him use them to promote goodwill for Earth/The Milky Way.

I just looked over Jake's skill list on the wiki earlier and my guess is at a minimum it'll be an upgrade to his Alchemical Flame skill with the rarity determined by soulflame rank. Might have a soulspace impact too, we'll hopefully find out tomorrow.

If I remember correctly, the group that ambushed Jake's party in the void, was initially gonna let everyone go if Jake went with them. At least, until they figured out their faces had been seen. Now, we could say that they were obviously lying cuz, ya know, why let any of them live? But what if they were telling the truth? What if they really had no intention of killing any of them? That they really just need Jake for something, and it's not necessarily nefarious? Makes me wonder.

It was stated when Jake first got the item to create one. An alchemical flame is needed to brew potions. The better the flame the better the quality of potion created. If you get a flame that is attuned to the type of magic you use the better the potion that is made. Jake getting a superior flame attuned to his arcane magic makes his potions unique and exponentially better than anything anyone else can create in the 93rd universe.

I thought Villy implied that Yip had killed him to usurp his legacy and his place on the all times leader board but Jake read his name as being fourth and Nevermore said you were removed if you die. Is Altius the Blade still kicking around somewhere and if so how was he effected by Yip’s death?

TFTC :) This part isnt a correction, more of a thought. It would seem to me that the "rubber band" effect, as described in this chapter, is more of a "sliptream" like in motor sports. You gain an advantage if you tuck in behind another car because they are doing the hard work of pushing through the air and they leave a zone behind them that is lower pressure and thus easier to move through. Similar with this, Jake and the others are leading the way by bulling through events and barriers and, if you can stay close, you can benefit from this, but if you fall too far behind youre on your own again. The rubber band analogy would seem to say people are being dragged forward rather than taking advantage of easier going. Just my thought. Suggested edits: "The Demon Prince had already *just been* a single step behind" should be "been just" though i would possibly reword to "The Demon Prince was only a single step behind..." same meaning and better flow. "of the most publicly recognized *features*. " did you mean "figures" here? "but *whom which gods were looking on* with interest." needs rewording. "but upon whom the gods interest fell" maybe? or "but upon whom the gods were looking with interest." "the one most gods would rate *the most likely to achieve godhood successfully.*" repetition of "most". reword to " ...most gods would rate with the highest likelyhood of achieving Divinity" "other *factions aware* had started" i feel like this should be "aware factions" "letting out a silent scream before turning entirely *silent*." should be "still" since the elf was already silent. "the *soul of* the elven god’s soul dispersed" either this is excess or the first "soul" should be "substance" or similar “It *still* started when he got that damn Soulflame...” should be "all"? Also Lillian knows jake has a soulflame already and knows when this all started so this sentence is a bit too much of the "As you know..." trope for me. Maybe "I swear, since he got that bloody Soulflame..." would leave the audience on the same shock and avoids the trope.

No the flame is from the jar it's to change is Alch flame skill to something more suited to his affinity. Remember that jar he got a long ass time ago i think it was either during Nevermore or right after that he got that item to give him a chance at one.

Eron's said the "we are one" thing before, he can now recreate life without a truesoul, the daolord stole control of nevermore to talk directly to Jake after Jake beat the fist monk, and Eron's been saying he needs Jake to complete his immortality project.
