The flame has huge combat application, he can use it to change the terrrain, destroy projectiles, armor and physical barriers. He might be able to use it to help with escaping by making a tunnel. (This way he can save wings for later). Also he might be able to one shot a plant. He probably could use it to destroy energy from attacks that are stopping him from healing or something, although pallet can do that to even if Jake has not realize tharealize it.

The problem is those are all types of actively controlled mana with intent (aside from the terrain) so he wouldn't be able to change it. Especially projectiles and armor would absolutely have intent in them.

I think that while Jake's soul flame is ineffective against things with other intent, his soul flame can boost his arcane awakening and other skills that operate according to Jake's own will.

I bet duskleaf has a method of having an alchemy flame break down active energies as well. Regardless, I assume in B grade Jake's nexf big learning will be runes/sigils/scripts so he can eventually add them to his temporary stable arcane barriers to strengthen them and add them to this arcane flame cauldron.

I hope that Jakes profession morphs with his rise to B-grade. With his skill to make Class/Profession Grimoire's, I would love to see his Heretic-Chosen profession fully changes into his own unique one that is based around his Affinity, creating his own "Alchemist of the Primal Hunter". I doubt that would be the name but still. Then maybe his nephew could do that for a profession and follow Caleb with his class

I can't see him do it in the middle of a fight because I doubt anything he could obtain would have any significant records within, much less have the time to brew. As part of a long term hunt though, I could see it becoming an option. There would still need to be some weird circumstances to get a high record material from his target though.

Turn Soul Flames into arrow heads, pepper an enemy with them, remotely build them into a cauldron inside enemy body, break down enemies body into a bane poison specialized for that enemy. Boom!

Ditch these they are unecessary and sound odd here. "but in *wide* strokes" the usual phrase is "broad strokes" "Jake’s soul and *level* of control over it weren’t at a *level* others could relate to" repetive. I suggest changing the first to "degree" to avoid this. "while giving him more *intricate* control. " this sounds odd in my head maybe "delicate" instead? Might just be me.

Soul flame could be great if he is ever trapped/imprisoned and his storage rings are taken. Not only could he still craft (assuming he can find materials) he can also make stable weapons than use his arms of man ability (can’t remember what it’s called)

He upgraded a skill and a storyline that has been going on since the end of nevermore was completed. In addition to upgrading a skill , it's one of the things that has been on his list to complete before he evolved to B grade for a couple hundred chapters. Do you know what fluff means?

Most readers - me included - seem to enjoy the style of the author that gives enough flavor to the world for it to be immersible. It would be a shame if all this world-building would go to waste for the sake of “forced progress”.
