Thanks for the chapter

Kirin

It’s so CLOSE! B-Grade! B-Grade we all scream for the B-Team! Let’s go!

Lizy Flore

That’s mean. That’s really mean 😭

Unwillingmainer

Jake isn't just a human, he is The Human. The example all other humans are based off of. At least, that's my guess.

Benjamin Davis-Lorton

", as who didn’t like being complicated by an omnipotent and omniscient system?" complicated -> complimented

Chris

Transcendent Human. Jake has believed so hard that humans shouldn't be considered lowly that his race is now passively transcendent!

Naotani

Tftc! Origin-Race incoming: "The Primal" xD

Edmond

tftc

Misa

Tftc

Hmmm... okay

My Guess is Primal Human or Origin Human

Pekka Kohonen

Maybe Jake’s race is “Primal Human”. Basically some archetype of humanness. Very high grade.

Fdrugc

Maybe Jake is not human but rather he is the bloodline.

Phoenixdrop

Well they felt short but hey we have hit peak C now we just need that level and tomorrow we get more guesses on what’s going on with Jake’s race and probably also a absolute extermination of B-grades to hit that next level if the talk doesn’t go too long but that could be Thursday and then we get the always fun new class selection

Daniel

Nice, I guess Jake is going to be postponing kids for the next couple years, lol.

Orod

I'm ready to scream at the sky with all this teasing 🤣 He has been at the edge of B-Grade for weeks now. Needless to say I'm way too excited for this 🤣

Sean McClain

"as who didn’t like being complicated by an omnipotent and omniscient system?" I assume you meant complimented not complicated.

itsdlow

So good. Tftc

Léon Geide

you can't just stop there! 😭 I wanna knoooow

Leviathan

Curse you for ending on a juicy cliff hanger. At least it's not the weekend

Thread9000

Missed me some Villy. Tftc

djthomp

Man that vague bullshit from the system really would be so annoying. Then again, we've been told it's harder for people with higher quality classes and professions, so maybe that means less vague bullshit at least for C-grade for more normal people. Either way, good thing for Jake he still doesn't have to worry about it and neither do we. Really looking forward to the evolution, we're so close. Traditional weekend cliff, probably?

DaMule

TFTC Z! Looks like we are setting up for a great Christmas break evolution cliffhanger, can’t wait!

Rick Delallata

Are there any races that are natural A grades? There are a lot of things about Jake that are insane, but him naturally being A grade or even higher might top everything else

polyx

TFTC! Zogarth is so mean with all these cliffhangers

mucky 12

Interesting. He is the origin, the true progenitor of the species, aye? That gives off some weird time/rebirth vibes but considering he was able to bring back a true royal from extinction I could see ot being the case.

JW Saxby

Haha 😄 yes it is fun to theorise this stuff, in story and in the comment section lmao 🤣 My race theory for Jake… [Name: Jake Thayne.] [Race: Primordial.] 👍🏼🤓👍🏼 Tyftc 🍻

Cory S.

Jake is the reincarnation of the first Human. Jake in this case would be like Adam from the creation story in the Bible, thus making him the perfect Human specimen, genetically speaking. This is my guess. Probably way off and much simpler like he is the reincarnation of the First Sage and just has to unlock his memories or something like that.

Kyle Stitt

Same I love how they poke each other and it feels like a real bro-mance

LitRPGenius

Jake once more appreciated the glazing from the system in the flavor text, as who didn’t like being *complicated* by an omnipotent and omniscient system? (Complimented)

dash w

Thanks for the chappy

Violet

Ahhh I wanna know so bad!! Tftc

Ramadasa Butler

Nooooooooo another cliffhanger, I just hope we read about the upgrades to Race, Class and Profession prior to the weekend. I believe that this is the most delayed Class evolution upgrade yet. I can even imagine tomorrow's chapter will be entirely on them discussing what the Race upgrade will be from both Villy's and Jakes perspective. It could also contain information on Sylphie's and others evolution to B Class on subsequent nights. Just furthering your delay in getting to read about Jake's evolution to B Class. Worse case we better get it prior to your Christmas break or you may have some very sad readers. I would equate it to only getting coal from Santa for a Christmas present.

Canis

Will zog stretch this out to Christmas? Tune in folks. Great work as always man!

Kyle

I think it would be primal human as his race that goes back to the start of the system perhaps, or even primal hunter as his race

Dave

Tftc

Tyran

Jake is a chimp? Returning to those roots must be hard on him. Just think of how many of those poop flingers he's slaughtered wantonly. And he will soon find himself among their number.

Ra

Alright, we're back to paying full attention to the chapters. We've cleared the slump and has gotten interesting again. Thanks for the chapter! Can't wait for the next one!

Kt-x

Oooh! Damn cliffhanger!! 😂 I think it's to do with being the Primal Hunter and he might be the Origin of Humans. So he is already the perfect human and he believes this as well. What if there's some timey-wimey shit? And he's actually known everyone longer but they've all forgotten it because it's forbidden knowledge???

Nate

His race is Primal Hunter, just like Villy's race is The Malefic Viper. He already stepped into divine realms in C Grade, and the system isn't stupid. It knows what he is, what he will be, and what he was born as: A Primal Hunter.

zran

very likely zog is stalling for time for the next future story arc, seeing how a number of recent chapters where mainly "filler-ish"

blucube 14

Thanks for the chapter! B grade is so close!

KenTX325

It would be cool if Jake could do mental calls with Artemis as well. One day he needs to tell her about his unique race.

Mat

“Perform an alchemical feat worthy of calling yourself a Primordial’s Chosen (1/1)” could be referring to return of the Vespernat Hive Queen.

Marc Todd

I'm leaning towards the theory that Jake is the first sage (reincarnated).

David

Damn I was looking forward to finding out Jake's race. Seeing how long (irl time) C grade took and how much stalling these last few levels have had I don't think we'll ever get to see it. Hopefully the theories tomorrow will be cool at least.

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

That one, right there.

I’m guessing it is going to be something like Primal enlightened/human. Cause I get the feeling he is going to somehow evolve Artemis’s race as well into an elf variant.

Josh stevens

I actually forgot about the race part. Damn..Fridays chapter is heading for a cliff.

Ben Jaffee

I was always confused on the origin thing, like wouldn't the origin of all life, whatever type of being Jake used his Jake Juice on, go back to single-celled organisms? Especially in a universe where Gods exist, are mortal, and have not been around since the dawn of time. Even if Jake just went back to the origin of humans, that never occurred at a definitive moment. Evolution takes place over millions of years. Its not like two non humans just had a child and that child was the first human.

Jason Smith

Called it on no Evolution quest for B grade! Also sure Jake is right on the money with non till godhood. The way they've described his bloodline making him immune to presences makes it clear to me, godhood is his natural grade. He can be less powerful, but not 'inferior' to anything, as he is the hunter not the prey. He'll be catching up to his bloodline until he can hunt anything in the multiverse.

Weebeedee

soon myes soon

Burkholt

My personal theory is that there can be up to 10 primals. Because that's how many pathways there are for humans. While I also believe the first sage was the primal sage.

tigerfishie

TYFTCCCC I’m waiting for Jake to never once get an evolution quest, as he’s likely “supposed” to be a god (or at least at that level or higher in some equivalent), hence why he doesn’t get affected by auras

Timothy Spradlin

Its his soul, is my theory, his soul is at the quality of a god, so maybe his evolution has nothing to add but the power to reflect so no quest needed? Which would mean he is a normal human contextually.

Biggy smalls

Interesting that this is just 1/1. It could have been The demon ritual, Jasper, Vespy, dragonsbane, etc.

RnR_ RnR

I wont say this is a cliffhanger. More like a steep hill. Its only Tuesday so plenty of time.

RnR_ RnR

Jakes evolution quest into godgood is to kill a primordial.

InfernoDroid

You know what, for that cliffhanger, no, I will not be making any guesses

shawn B

High human it is

BuhDussy

Okay like if you agree. Jake’s next big experiment should be using his Jake juice to upgrade the world core… hear me out. Can we all agree on this? It would be epic.

brjenness

I still say jake's bloodline is the shadow clone of THE primal hunter that got erased by smiley during the second era.

KevB

I wonder if his "type" of humanity is related to the First Sage. He appeared completely human too

Carl Never

Well those hidden foes on earth better level up there stealth cuz jake needs some levels

LemonPerson

All I'm going to say is if he decides to kill that weird karmic fuck, i wouldn't be upset

Noah Mclelland

And thats how galactic cores are made... is there actually anything similar to a world core that covers more than a planet?

khielira

This makes sense. We already know that Jake soul is insanely strong and has only gotten stronger. It also makes sense that the race quest is linked to the soul. So until we get some clue or hit stating otherwise it's a good working theory. And it matches nice with the fact that beings with natural high grades just need to grow to match where they already are at grade level wise

LemonPerson

Would be funny if jake evolves into a fish. His origin takes him so far back he begins to like the dreaded water levels.

Let me read

Still hoping for Jake to turn out to be some Primal or Primeval human variant

Rahsheem Reid

Zog is doing what we do it the comments section lol

Leigh Micheletti

Based on the flavor text, Jake is The Primal Hunter. He is the Origin of that race. My guess is he is naturally at least S tier or God tier.

Mike_L

TFTC

K R

Maybe the system is trying to create its own anti virus. Jake the one who hunts the bugs from the early days of the system that still remain or maybe even threaten the system on some level.

Alexander Dalton

Thanks for another awesome chapter!!

Daryl

I'm guessing the lack of a race quest is related to primeval origin energy. If Jake is naturally producing some energy that can evolve others, it stands to reason that he naturally evolves himself, too.

ABTelford

Enjoyable chapter, thanks

The D

Well, I guess his race is somehow related to Hunters. As for the reason behind my theory: remember when he went to the moon? There were some monsters or species whose race names contained the word "Hunter," and they just stared at Jack as if they were dumbstruck — like he was a god or someone to be admired. (The novel doesn’t explicitly mention the reason for this strange behaviour; it’s just something I am guessing.) It reminds me of how wyverns might look up to dragons or how elves might look up to high elves. Those monsters might have been looking up to the "Primal Hunter." And let’s not forget the name of his bloodline: "Bloodline of the Primal Hunter." Of course, the last one is a weak argument, since the name of Villy’s bloodline, "Bloodline of the Immortal Mind," doesn’t make Viper immortal. Villy is immortal, but not because of his bloodline.

Lemonsqueezy

My guess for how the rest of the week will go. Friday will be when Jake evolves to B-Grade. The cliff hanger will be where we do not know what Jake chooses until Monday. We may or may not get the descriptions of what is available on Friday. I do like the theme that Jake returns to his home on Earth to actually evolve every time. My guess for when the race evolution will happen - A-Grade seems likely with S-Grade being a close second. I doubt it would be at God-Tier but if it is I expect it to require him to kill a God. With how long it takes to evolve to the next grade increasing exponentially, we probably have several hundred chapters to go before A-Grade, and probably a couple thousand before God tier is achieved. Really depends on how much Zog decides to time-skip through these grades. We are talking about hundreds if not thousands of years that need to pass for Jake to reach peak B-Grade, thousands more for A-Grade, and probably 100s of thousands to for S-Grade. Guess we will have to see. A-Grade is another 150 levels. S-Grade is 250 more after that, God Tier is another 250 above that. I think the biggest hindrance will be trying to find stuff to hunt as his grades increase. The higher the grade the less available things there are to hunt at those grades. I expect a lot of dungeon diving happening, otherwise he will have to make a lot of factions quite upset when he starts massacring entire factions lol. With him already having knowledge and experience with the gate, I think him actually pushing into God tier wont be very difficult considering that seems to be a requirement to do so. Anyway, sorry for the long rant. My ADHD tends to make me do that.

jjjm

naturally god tier would be insane - that would mean any children of his would basically breeze through all grades into godhood

DeAndrea H

I would think that the Heretic objective would be William. Jake convinced another Primordial’s Chosen to turn heretic. Also, for his evolution to godhood, if he has to fight a god, I would think it would be Umbra. It’s been set up that he hard counters her abilities and she’s been seeded into his story since the tutorials.

Lemonsqueezy

The sage is a Human. It was stated a really long time ago by Villas. Maybe TFS was the first and maybe only Evolved Human. Which could give some truth to some theories that Jake is somehow the reincarnation of TFS. I have had an unlikely theory that TFS merged with or replaced the System itself, which will be what Jake also ultimately does. This final evolution is becoming the new System, which happens every era. This would kind of explain why the System seems to slightly change how it operates with every newly integrated universe. Like it seems to learn from the previous one. Since a new universe isn't even created until the previous one is fully integrated, I think that when someone becomes or merges with the System the next candidate(s) is/are chosen. Or maybe there is some sort of secret committee of people that oversee everything (comprised of a single individual from each era), and probably have betting pools. Like how the gods all have their chosen, the members of the System do so as well but in the background. They influence events in the multiverse to give their champion the best chance. Maybe Jake is TFS's chosen (or maybe even his replacement), and if he wins the competition Jake is added to the committee and the process repeats. Could be an interesting way to end the story. Other theory I have is that Jake will ultimately destroy the system itself. His final hunt.

Arieh Sochaczevski

Thanks for the chapter! Wasn’t Villy’s conclusion last time that they would never speak of this again? He seemed to have a reason to *not* speculate with Jake.

Yarza Wynn

anybody else looking forward to how much more of Jake's bloodline he'll be able to use after evolving?? just remembered that the First Sage mentioned he thought Jake would be able to fully use it in B-Grade

Lemonsqueezy

There have been theories that have said that the reason Jake hasn't gotten a quest yet is because he keeps strengthening his soul so the quest keeps getting postponed because his body still needs to catch up to the new bar that is being set. It has been said that that is ultimately what causes the evolution. For humans that always happens at C-Grade, for other races it happens at other grades. Jake is unique because of the fact that he focuses so much on making his soul stronger. Sometimes by luck (Soulflame, Cursed Dagger, and his Bloodline), sometimes by random events (TFS for instance), sometimes by skill, and a lot of times because of his sugar daddy Villas.

Jason

That was before Jake said it evolves every evolution. It's just is current reach is so far that it would take a b grade brain to understand it all, and presumably if it evolves again when he hits B grade, you yould need a A rank brain to handle it

A. Person

He can always go hunting in some World Wonders if he needs to, it's been established that they scale all the way to beyond the Primordials in the deepest depths of them so no matter how strong a B/A/S Grade is, there will always be stronger things to hunt in those. There is probably some records reason why he should visit several of them anyway even if he isn't lacking in prey in the wider multiverse.

Jason

So excited for when he finally reaches B grade. Lowkey I wouldn't mind it if they skipped most of how he gets through b grade so we can get to see him as an A or S grade f*cking up gods ans shit

Lemonsqueezy

The ability to mentally talk to Villas is because Jake is his chosen. It has been stated that those blessed by Gods can speak to said god. The lower the blessing the lower the ability to communicate. Lesser blessing can only feel vague intentions from their gods. While the ones with the "Chosen" title can have full conversations. In any other case the gods have to physically interact with a person to communicate. This can be done with a strong karmic connection with the individual via an item the person equips (in the case of Umbra and Jake's cloak), and actual communication device, an avatar, or possessing the body of one of their followers. Maybe that will change when Jake and Artemis have a child therefore giving them a strong enough bond to communicate even if it is only vaguely.

Tamathon

His mom had a sexy god pool guy?

Stephen

What if the race is literally just human. He takes things to their origin. If you take that onto consideration, the most basic bare bones version of a human is someone who learns what they need from those around them to try to better their own life and that of their loved ones.

DeAndrea H

Honestly, I know a lot of people aren’t keen on him, but I wouldn’t mind a check in with William and whether or not he’s able to progress to B-grade. Eversmile was intentionally crippling his path for shits and giggles and he really struggled with the C-grade evolution. With B-grade being even harder, I’m curious how William switching to working with Jake and the World Council against Ell’Hakan might have changed his path. I mean a helping free billions of people from tainted karma ties has to be big for a karmic mage right?

smore

He's the Primal human!!!

Drexnaw

at the time Jake was less knowledgable of the multiverse and concepts now he has maybe a toddlers understanding so villy can talk a litttle about it without going into forbidden knowledge or impacting jakes growth as much

DeAndrea H

I don’t know. Everyone kind of agrees that Minaga is the ultimate system oopsie and Jake feels no compulsion to hunt him.

Corey S

While I agree that will be a good match up. It won’t happen till way into godhood. She’s considered at or near the primordials and no matter how much Jake can punch up, that is too much. Probably worse than a F tier trying to fight a S, or comparable

charlesgers s

Ok so the Primordials all have titles right ? What if that's there race then dose that mean Valdemar is also not a human then but a ...... human ?

DeAndrea H

I would be curious about the stats of the first system-recognized god. Jake got crazy good stats for being a forerunner, a progenitor, and a prodigy so i can’t help but wonder what the System gave for being the very first to figure out the path to godhood.

Rewdan

Thanks Zogarth loving these everyday cliffhangers. Sure why wait for Friday just leave us hanging every day

Xander

TFTC :) I want Jake to be an Ur-Human since that refers to the most primal form of a entity but that might be a little too obscure. Suggested edits: "wasn’t something Jake was entirely sure what meant, " this is badly worded and should be replaced with "was a little vague" you could also use "non-specific" since you use vague a couple times later on. "who actually had to do these quests and figure out *what they had to do*." repeated "had to do" irks me a little. Maybe "the criteria" instead for the second or "experienced" for the first "Bloodline is referred to, so ** one’s out." missing word "that" "I *get* the exact same flavor" should be "got" from context.

Xander

I dont think ES was intentionally crippling William, I think he just didnt give a fuck about his progress. ES did teach W proper karmic magic which is far king difficult to get started without a proper teacher after all. Hell I've been an advocate of William and Lillian getting together since they are both damaged people. The biggest problem with that is the shippers would have to deal with it being called "Lill-iam" :D

A Flashy BR

Thank you for the Chapter!!! I'm so excited for B grade!

brjenness

I wonder how often the big name authors that are friends anonymously go into each other's comments and say stuff like, "you suck. worst chapter ever."

Rob Lyon

Yeah I have a feeling Friday is going to look like Everest

Rob Lyon

I don't think he will get a race evolution until he is s-Grade. Or maybe s-grade going into godhood

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Deborah

I think he is a pre god due to him being referred to as the concept of primal hunter.

Burkes

Can’t wait for these B-Grade class selections

Nathaniel France

Not exactly related to the chapter itself, but seeing the mention of his alchemy stuff worthy of being a Chosen has me growing more interested in his True Dragon experiment. Consider this: as far as multiverse impact, it’s hard to top Vesperis. His other creations have been novel, but she was a straight up True Royal or whatever they were called. So how do you top that? A unique True Dragon created using the heart of an enemy chosen who became a usurper and then a delulu deity. Then combined with Jake juice AND the fact that Jake himself is the chosen of the Viper, one of the greatest “dragons” to ever exist (he’s not technically a dragon in that sense but whatever) I can imagine it hatches and we’ve got some sort of “Primal Celestial Dragon” that would once more throw the multiverse into chaos as a new “top variant” True Dragon is created.

Takoda Heitz

Don’t you just love the fact that Jake will do this and still not see the big deal.

Keion

What happens at god level…. Will he sever the chosen connection , will he be considered a usurper , or will they continue sharing records until when they’re on the same level?

Collateral_ink

My favorite guess for Jake's Race has already been tossed out the window back in Nevermore. I was really rooting for Fae, specifically that Jake was a changeling left with a human family in a pre-system universe, because that's just the sort of messed up stuff Fae like to do. But then Fae were finally introduced in Nevermore and there was no instinctual reaction on either side (unless immediately going for the kill on Jake counts). The only fantasy race that isn't already represented in the story that still kind of fits is Lycanthrope or Therianthrope. It fits the hunter aspect, and it also fits the whole inner beast thing that's going on with Jake's instincts. The race quest would be something like "Find your inner beast" I'm not a huge fan of this, but aside from just inventing something like "Primal Human" or going way too vanilla with "High Human" I can't think of any other options.

Random58

Do we know of any chosen that have become gods? Obviously there have to be some but are there any named in the story yet?

James Davis

Having him be some sort of therianthrope would be really cool actually i had never considered that. Maybe something in the reptile family going by how he gets along with villy and his proclivity for poisons?

Sorrow

ZOGARTH DROP ANOTHER CHAPTER AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bookreader97

How is his brother not also having weird race evolutions? Are they not actually related? I would assume that a bloodline doesn’t change your race

Ser

He's human still, but his bloodline is making him something *more than* a human. Because his brother doesn't (and wouldn't) have the same bloodline he won't get the same options

Ty Cooper

Love the Villy chapters so much. Looking forward to the next few chapters so much. Also does the soulflame and the wonders it has brought just fall under alchemical feats. Looking forward to all the chapters to come. Tftc

TRando

All I want for Christmas is for Jake to reach B-Grade

Jason

It was brought up a few books ago, the main reason to choose a chosen as a god is that if your chosen grows stronger, you get levels and other rewards (possible titles or other resources strictly for gods we don't know about yet). And if a chosen reaches godhood the rewards are incomparable bigger then if your chosen went from D to S rank then died. Which is why most gods only give out divine blessings to promising individuals until they reach A rank, to be better cost affective for the resources they used to make a chosen. Of course villy said that Jake has already made up for the resources used when he made vesperia

TNT

It’s all about records. Records are the soft cap for most people, and gods. Investing divine records into a mortal and that mortal not generating divine level records is probably not going to help much. But Jake’s bloodline related records are transcendent in nature, so him fucking around with them is somewhat god-level already.

愚行

You know, I like the idea of Jake's Truesoul originally having been the First Primordial or First God. Perhaps the Primal Hunter was karmically erased by Eversmile's Transcendence but was recycled as the Truesoul can't necessarily be touched. Could explain why he has no evolutionary hurdles as he's simply retracing his previous path to Godhood.

joel southard

Thank you for the chapter

Daniel

So, Chapter 6: Starborne The starborne are a race of mighty beings created from the stars themselves, as the name suggests. Even the weakest is at B-grade while the strongest come into existence at S-grade. These creatures possess incredible power and intellect and often do not seek to form societies but merely join whatever faction suits them. I guess Jake could be a starborne, or whatever his natural grade is could extend to S - Grade, as some starborne have S-Grade as there natural grade.

GloinJr

With all the talk about capital O Origins, my guess is he's either related to the roots of humanity (hence primal), the origin of the system, or both 🤷‍♂️ maybe some primal human made the system, along the lines of defiance of the fall

OnEyeDevil

But villy can remember everything with his bloodline or another thing it would mean the bloodline would have lost once

Yair Ron

"seeing as he was the first *person* Villy had ever heard about who didn’t get an evolution quest while evolving to C-grade" Shouldn't that be first ever *human?*

Greg Alverson

Was hoping to get Villys view on his particular soul flame.

karl Mckellar

No cause how would Villy get in touch with every human across multiple universes who have evolved to c grade.
