divine path: sacred => divine But ... chapter 1240: “Wait, what happens if you improve a mythical skill enough to get an upgrade without adding any divine elements?” non divine path rarity explorations, there should not be a lot of these because skill grades are relative: apex/pinnacle/supreme: we saw some of these for soulflames ? I like the apex for hunter, but doesn't really match Jake, see under beyond: to go even further beyond ! could be in relation to apex, like when Artemis and Jake talked about the balance of nature predator/prey, Jake is an outsider, this could be same feeling, a grade that acknowledge breaking of scale arcane/primal: customized grade similar to beyond, system agree you are op, so you get customized grade that has the same "name" ... arcane ... but you can give it custom name yourself, in this case primal transcendent/transcendental: could be a grade as in to transcend, no direct relationship to the bloodline/transcendence stuff, probably won't be to avoid this ambiguity heretical: Would make "sense", but I don't like it, positioning yourself as a heretic means acknowledging the divine, which is weird. Jake does his own stuff, even comparing would feel wrong. Like in the heretic curse from the insect queen, his bloodline just (would have, book 9 chapter 32) suppressed it. Nice to catch up with Lillian again. Assuming the Lucenti beast goddess whoever she is doesn't screw this up it's a good opportunity to make a connection with one of Jake's people. We know the United Tribes are very interested in Jake so this could work out really well for Lillian, oops surprise divine blessing.

Ooo we're speedrunning a bit here now, thx for the little fast forwards and slightly increased pace zog, this chapter really flew bye but still felt fluid to read. Also Miranda info drops are always appreciated, I always want to see more of her doing more order related or witch related stuff, I find the lagoon cool af to explore and the ritual aspect of her path also really cool. Would be nice if her and Jake did a joint ritual one day since they both share that aspect of their paths. Also villy in a flamingo suit was definitely something to imagine

I love that Miranda basically set up a version of Gotham City Batman insurance for Haven and Jake. Like, "We expect parts of the city to have random insane shit happen because, Jake." Also, real pink feathers on the Viper. I so badly want to see a picture/webtoon panel of that. tyftc!

Faster than the speed of light? But it took nearly 30 seconds? Traveling from the Earth to the Moon at the speed of light would take less than two seconds… A little research goes a long way. Love the books but the speeds and the distances described sometimes get out of hand and totally unrealistic.

Some fun calculations that are probably wrong. It takes roughly 1.3 seconds to get from the earth to the moon at the speed of light (said google). The earth is now about the size of the sun which is 1000 times bigger than earth which if scaled proportionally means that distances have increased 3root100 = 10 times which means it would take 13 seconds to get to earth from the moon. But these are bad (probably wrong) calculations based on a few lines in the novel. Also wings I think requires build up time.

Now you're making me think of other great setups he's done. Recently we have his parting jab to Yrelstromoz before the dragon hunt but there's 2 all-timers for me. The first is a definite aura moment during his Chosen ceremony where he says they recognize his aura as an apex predator...no, the monster who hunts them. The second would be when Villy doubles down betting on Jake before he enters the coliseum for his last fight with Valdemar.

Hear me out. Listening back through book 13. Chapter 22-24. William gets hired by some 3rd party to simply “give Jake knowledge on Elhakans planet” this 3rd party is still yet to be discovered. They killed the go between for William. What if this same 3rd party wanted elhakan dead. As if someone is dead people stop looking for them. Did we not recently find out about a group that hides well there members appear dead? The void ambush? They use the dead as puppets Idk if I’m wrong or right. But I highly suspect the 3rd party that sent William to elhakans home planet. Is the same one that attacked Jake in the void, I have no proof. Only a game theory

Haha Jake is so out of the ordinary he seems outrageous even to Villy Just a record gaining machine It might be somewhat difficult for most people (especially gods) to fathom expending records like jake does- considering thats generally the largest limiter for actual progress Villy (and most other super high end gods) pretty much have to wait for the system to start a new Era to potentially gain substantial records Id imagine jake might get to that point one day, the cost might be inconsequential currently but if records have a soft cap per era of limited records he might have to really consider when to use Jake Juice when records are more difficult to come by. But who knows? Maybe jake origin-ing stuff would also reintroduce more records into the current era and allow him to sustain it on succeeding? Tons of possibilities, thanks for the thought process Zog!

It'd be fun if Jake used his new lesser Origin skill to basically steal his enemies weapons since they would soulbind to him. I don't think he actually would since it's not his style, but it'd be a hilarious way to win a fight 😄

You know I think I have two theories here. The first being that Primal Hunter’s Spirit of Man skill is just an expression of his path as the removal of the need for stat based armor is just the further simplification of his path where all he needs to focus on is his advancement and nothing more, same thing with the other skills as it helps refine and focus his path. My second theory is that I think that his Sacred Meditate is the set up for his future Transcendent Skill. Through this process he is able to practically eliminate the effect of his bloodline enhanced perception and maybe this allows him to gain insights otherwise unavailable to him as his bloodline coat everything he perceives and does.

New theory just dropped... When the first sage created the system in order to give mortals a better life and a path beyond, the titanic beings that ruled over the universe at that time sent the Primal Hunter to destroy the first sage and his creation. However, they had underestimated the abilities of the sage within his system. The hunter was captured and became the first student of the sage who he attempted to shape into one of the leaders bringing balance to the system. However, this Hunter, a being of darkness, time, and the conflicting powers of stability and destruction could not integrate into the system. He was outside it. Beyond it. Over time, this Hunter disappeared into his role of watching over the system and ensuring balance was maintained by its twelve rulers. The sage having become part of the system could not remember this being outside of the system, nor could he recognize the records left behind by that being's actions inside the system. Not even when those records coalesced into a legacy tied to a bloodline.

I am pretty sure the successful experiments generate a ton of records for Jake. He is also not losing records in the normal sense because they are reserved as part of jake juice which gets produced naturally as his records grow. The lesser version i think uses a tiny bit of jake juice but its like 1/10,000 of what the normal stuff would which makes it viable to experiment with while the main stuff you really only want to use on something you expect to succeed. By the time he reaches god he will likely understand how to use it a lot better due to the experiments when his record gains are easy at lower tiers.
