Oh interesting. I think the snake knows more then he is letting on. It's either directly from Villy, or the the orgin of records from Villy. The mention of a year is suspicious; possibly on purpose since we all know Jake will be teleported in about 2ish months. I wonder if a blessing was promised. Great chapter! I love this arch! I think the best way for Jake to rectify this would be if he is able to take a handful beyond the boundary and then to the order. The great snake if he is not coached by Billy is the only one with common sense enough. Jake was willing. Why make him an enemy and he will be a god before any of them not to mention primordial patron and god queen girl friend. Either of them could sneeze and destroy the minor world.

I don't think the sea serpent got a blessing, Villy is restricted in the 93rd universe and they are in a minor world too. The only way for Villy to give blessings should be through challenge dungeons, evolutions or through a blessed. None of those were available to the serpent at that time. My guess is Villy just manipulated the minor world's records to draw the serpent's attention knowing how a snake that was at the top was likely to react to the situation (not acting rashly without having more information). If Villy was in that serpent's place, I think he would have reacted in a very similar way

Lame. Seems Jake is indeed going to let things go and forgive and forget the Venusians and arachnecs for their huge insult and attempt to utterly destroy him. The Order, viper and Jake are going to become a laughingstock at this pace, and that is something that will eventually lead to even greater bloodshed to fix down the line as people start thinking they can act that way.

What are you on about? Im fairly sure the gods can freely give out blessings to pretty much anyone they are aware of in the 93rd universe. I CBA to go and find a source but im pretty sure Miranda got her blessing in the absence of these conditions. Not to mention the sword saint tho you could make the arguement that Aeon used some time shenanegains to give him the blessing in the past when one of these conditions was met but it seems silly to do so.

Perhaps giving blessing to snake would allow Jake to bypass restrictions on side-along portal to the Order somehow? Could Villy have made deal for snake to save Jake, and pretend to “hide” him away for a year, while in reality, snake is at Order getting final push to S-grade while Jake competes at the Prima event? End goal for Snake to return to and dominate Venus as its only native S-grade until the time system opens up. Seems a pretty snekky plan, if restrictions could be bypassed at least.

TYFTC! Interesting, I was expecting more to be revealed, I'm wondering if Villy has actually had a big role in this or just guided the Giant serpent up to the surface at a convenient time. I can fully see Villy using this to teach Jake the importance of grades again and that whilst the wider multiverse may respect the rules and be scared of pissing off a primordial, there are unexplored areas of the multiverse where if Jake just goes missing and never returns then it'll be considered a job well done. I'm glad the horned toad got an injury, I don't think it's over from Jakes perspective. I'm also expecting the monsters to be shocked at how quickly Jake can level once he starts spamming some alchemy practice. They're all under the impression that he's a monster and needs to cultivate energy. His rapid level rise and revelation of the enlightened races will certainly be news for all of them. Especially given he keeps talking about the entire environment being some toxic natural treasure. I expect alchemy levels to come flying in with some dedicated time

This entire Venus Exploration arc has been interesting with how different it has been from how I was expecting things to go. I was expecting Jake to have a brief period of invincibility given he’s just entered B-Grade, with Venus being a place where he’d get to flex and get a few levels. Going this direction instead makes me wonder what Zogarth is cooking 👀

I mean, Jake has been enjoying g the prestige and protectio. That comes with being a Villy's chosen for 1300 chapters now. Its kinda novel(hehe) at this point for him to meet a group of beings significantly more powerful than him who have no idea what that means. So far, anyone that much stronger has treated him as an equal because of his status as chosen and his own bloodline shenanigan potential. Primordial, Void gods, even the The god projections in nevermore. An intelligent people that have no clue how important he is is new Which is very impressive after this long in the series.

ehhh.... that is kinda risky at his current grade, there is a reason the viper gives him poisons(beers) fitting for his grade palate gives inmunity to poisons yeah, but there is limits to that inmunity, and a poison coming from a peak A grader being drank by a recently evolved b graded most likely will get very affected if not outright will die by it

I really like the direction Zogarth took with this Arc, the Venusian did have a point, Jake basically arrived out of nowhere and expect everyone agree to everything he said and wanted, he was to used to be respected and listened to, both on earth and the multiverse, being the strongest on earth and Villy’s chosen on the Multiverse, nobody really questioned him, and due to his bloodline even gods talk and treat him as a god himself

Villy has said he's supremely aware of his Records and since all snakes carry his Records, my guess is the "small touch" he talked about was him manipulating his own records within the sea serpent. At least that's what I've been hoping for ever since Villy said he put his hand on the scale

Shaman guy might be an ok dude, but nobody should be allowed to leave again, if they do, feed them to Colin, he's a good boy. (Would be the funniest crossover ever, shirtaloon and zogarth) Only return when A grade and use those fuckers as Hunting Grounds like the Pantheon of Life did. They wanted an enemy because he looked weaker and they were scared? Give it to them, no better way to teach a lesson that might not kill them all than wait for it to blow up again.

I dont think any blessings have occurred (yet), just some records manipulation. The great serpent will feel kinship to Jake for a reason it can't quite figure out. And it didn't want this long lost kin to be made into a slave of inferior beings. It heard about this even greater serpent beyond the boundry and briefly felt it when Jake was trying to argue out of the contract and it will ask Jake who this being is and why it feels kinship to it and Jake. Rather then explaining, Jake just blesses the Snake giving it a conduit to the the Villy. After that it all becomes a moot point as the great sea serpent effectivly joins the Order and thus becomes Jake's subordinate.

I love how you wrote this chapter. Instead of the snake simply coming in and immediately saving Jake and killing everyone, there is some ambiguity on whether Jake is out of deep water just yet. Of course the chapter before foreshadows that Villy played a role, so it’s safe to assume that Jake is safe. But we know that while Jake doesn’t. Anyways, love the chapter! Keep it up!

Jake has the ability to see blessings, but I think it gets a little weird when he is trying to identify someone of a higher grade or significantly higher power. Higher grades are able to hide details about them better and only those above them in power can bypass that ability. Jake is a slightly different case because of his ability to hide almost everything about him or even make it say something else. So it really depends on how Zog wants to write it.

I am thinking that Villy has already spoken to the Serpent and when Jake leaves with him the serpent is going to have a talk and then let Jake leave. Jake will then return after the SoTEP event to have another chat with the serpent and take a few ambassadors with him across the border. We do still have the matter of who Jake is going to bless. I believe Jake is going to bless the Shaman and Archweaver before he leaves with the serpent. Also we will see if the serpent was actually given a direct blessing by Villy.

That would be the case. If the serpent is blessed and aligns with the Order it would make him a subordinate of Jake by default. We still do not know for sure if the Serpent hasn't already gotten a blessing, but I like where you are going more. Maybe Jake will bestow a blessing to the serpent, but I am more inclined to think Jake is going to give the Shaman and Archweaver one. In this arc they have really become his friends. It will also connect them to the order and in turn they could better inform their factions more about what is really going on and who Jake is.

Only problem is that the Great Sea Serpent seems to also want to protect the minor world and its inhabitants. I don't think the Serpent would try to kill Jake because its natural alignment with the Order, but it definitely could inhibit Jake from causing harm.

Strong resemblance to the norse Jörmungandr, or the world serpent. Which makes sense because Zog pulls a lot of reference from the old Greek, Roman, and Norse gods for names, personalities, and abilities.

To me it is more related to Jörmungandr from Norse mythology, especially since Zog is from Denmark. This Mother Snake you refer to probably also was influenced by that myth. Zog has frequently used names, looks, and abilities from gods in the Roman, Greek, and Norse mythologies. He seems to use anime for story development, powers, and plot for influence. I see a lot things that infer inspiration from DBZ.

Same. However, I do not think the Lich or Horned Slayer have any future prospects. They insulted Jake and therefor insulted the Order and Villy. If they ever get out of the minor world, they probably shouldn't ever leave the 93rd. They are probably destined to stagnate and go from being the strongest to one of the weaker on their planet. They will probably never see S-Grade for what they did to Jake.

This will be similar to Scarlett. Jake releasing a pulse of pride or whatever the skill was probably alerted the sea serpent to his presence or gave him some insight that they are related somehow. I think the sea serpent is alluding to knowledge bc it doesn’t understand why it’s drawn to Jake. Jake can then give him a blessing and have a guardian. How villy put his thumb on the scale would still be unexplained in this scenario though

These last dozen or so chapters have been quite enthralling to read and makes them seem so short. I have even checked world and character counts and they are mostly the same size or even longer than the average. Zog has also dropped a cliffhanger at the end of every single one of them about Venus making it even more painful for us.

I am under the same assumption. Villy did something to get the World Serpent to help Jake. This whole year of captivity thing is a way for Jake to be safe and leave the boundary, while making the other factions believe Jake is still on the minor world. Jake could also just hang out with the serpent until he is teleported out so that the other factions wouldn't even be able to tell that he left. Not sure if Jake would immediately be teleported back to the minor world or if he could choose where he returned after the SoTEP event. Either way, the serpent knows, is hiding it from the others, and Villy's sneaky ass has done something to set it all up.

I think Villy is the direct reason the serpent showed up at all, and is probably why the Horned Slayer just got punished for what he did to Jake. To me, I do not think the serpent would have a reason to care about any of this without some sort of influence from Villy. It follows the same reasoning as the others on the minor world in the belief that they are at the Apex and why would anyone care about the death, torture, or slavery of a newly evolved B-Grade. Villy had to somehow communicate with the Serpent to inform him of how important Jake is outside the boundary, and what causing him harm would mean for their small and insignificant world.

I think this is a way for Jake to disappear, but for the other factions to believe that he hasn't left the minor world. This gives Jake time to complete the SoTEP event and then return without anyone knowing otherwise.

It really could go either way at this point. Really depends on what Villy would have to do to communicate with it. Could he naturally do it because the Serpent would be considered a sort of descendent of Villy, or did Villy just give the Serpent a blessing so that he could then communicate with it and then make a deal/or more tell it to go save Jake and in turn it would be blessed.

Just struck me. Each Administrator Candidate was allowed to take four assistants, and—iirc—it was speculated that in a hundred days, each Administrator would be able to as well. Only…no one ever mentioned Jake taking anyone along. Yes, that would be Miranda’s job. So…assuming I’m remembering correctly, if Jake leaves for the Even from this Mirror World…couldn’t/wouldn’t he take his four assistants from here? And that maybe would count as “escorting out”?

It is more beneficial to chose a lower grade because the god would get a lot more out of the achievements their chosen gets. At the beginning these achievements are very frequent. If you bless a peak A-Grade or an S-Grade you would only get benefits from what they achieve until they reach godhood and when they can no longer be a chosen. However, there is a significant risk because your chosen can be easily killed before reaching godhood (if they ever do). Having your Chosen killed causes a significant backlash. This happens with anyone with a blessing, but the greater the blessing the more backlash is felt if they die. It is a risk-reward thing.

All these are within like 20 sentences. "enormous", "giant", "gigantic", "vast", "mountainous", "gargantuan" theres dozens of possibilities. "truly put any of the ones present in its eyes." youve used this unfamiliar phrase before, I think. "truly judge any of those present as worthy of consideration" maybe? My memory is bad so forgive me for not remembering what happened wtth the last instance. "letting out *heaved* breaths as two" feels like it should be "heaving". Oddly, if you used "laboured" the tense would seem fine to me so fork nose. "*Does* the rest agree with the protégé" should be "Do" "I cannot possibly represent my *face*..." should be "race", right?

Likely been said but guessing big snake knows all about villy and who Jake is but didn’t reveal that bc it’d of put Jake in danger. The others wouldn’t of just let him take Jake if they knew big sea serpent already switched sides (team multiverse)

It's refreshing to have a hard wall for Jake to run into. His abilities have brought him far and he has mostly overcome everything with his own dummy strength and cheat existence. Finally seeing him meet a situation where neither his bullshit or his power were enough is a good slap of reality for us as readers seeing him be basically an OP MC where nothing stands a chance. That short intermission from Villy's pov was a nice setup for this, and genuinely a nice reminder that Villy will step in when Jake is being extra stupid, as a good buddy always does.

I couldn’t agree more that it’s refreshing to get a situation where Jake can’t just cheese the situation. Too many OP characters fall into the Superman trap - Superman when first created had nothing he couldn’t do and it got boring fast. So the author created Kryptonite and Luthor, and other villains strong and smart enough to thwart him.

I really like how the more Jake evolves the more real Villy becomes in his dealings with him. At first he was just a fun meddling god friend but now as Jake interacts more with the multiverse and his actions have longer reaching consequences his conversations with Jake have changed in quality. Villy had low-key told Jake what was about to happen when he told him how he would handle the situation. But Villy is a firm believer in you fuck around and find out teaching style for Jake. Now he is meddling in how the conquest of this minor world is I’ll go.
