This is an excellent story plot at this point in the story. As Jake gets stronger and stronger finding ways to keep him as a small fish in a big pont occasionally is great. His having new experiences where he can't power his way through and his weakness at politics can shine through is excellent. While the numbers going up is why I'm here, seeing him have challenges is the point of it all. Great writing. Having Villy save the day this time in hopes next time he learns his Villy. Damn lesson. I'm really curious to see exactly what Villy got up to in sending the big snake to rescue Jake. The way it phrased that last part doesn't really sound like it's something as simple as a blessing.

I do wonder what Jake could have done differently in this adventure to not end up with a bad outcome, barring following Villy’s suggestion to kill and ditch at the Boundary? Exploring a world filled with A-grades who out of touch with the multiverse was always going to end up dicey. I’m really happy with the character growth Jake has had though. Also, I’ve said this before, but this snake sounds so cool!

I don't think you blessed him I think he's going to let Jake do that I think he gave him a vision or something like that that's why he thinks it's kind of nonsensical. Whatever happened was so strange even the sea serpent is an entirely sure what to believe. He just knows he met something way stronger than him

Yea it was good, but kind of repeating and explaining stuff we already know. I feel every chapter that isnt at the crux of an arc has a lot of inner dialogue or other ways to fill the chapter that isnt really needed. In saying that its good because it paces the story so its not all action, it gives a baseline for zog to really build a climax when the arc really peaks.

Suggest changing the first to "honestly" "surprised if most high-tier *A-grade* could" should be "A-grades" "considered talents*, either, but* the Venusians" This is a clunky run on sentence. I suggest ditching the highlighted part to end one sentence after *talents* and start the next at "The" "But ** reality was that Jake would" missing word "the" "his movements ** caught the attention of the massive serpent that had swallowed him *instantly*," Move the "instantly" to before "caught" because you want to imply the attention was caught instantly not that the swallowing was instant. "the monster’s *attention* on him." repetition from earlier in the sentence. "awareness" or "consideration" perhaps. "shouldn’t *reveal too much*, if anything at all." repetitive phrasing. perhaps "be too revealing" or just clip out the bit between "reveal" and "anything"

me sugestion could had been...., leave the minor world and return when he's A grader, he arrogantly believed they could treat him as equal or at the very least as a person, but they did seen him as something inferior to that, as something what could help them to expand their territories, to create a individual at a higer grade, the only way to even the scales in such situation is match their power if not surpass it, so they could take him seriusly, but he was a recently b grader, so they see it as they could push him as they whanted.. especially seen how the nestmother tried to control him with her mental magic, so yeah, he heavily believed his status could keep him safe, but he downplayed the ignorance of the locals heavily

I get the vibe that Big Ol’ Snek has based his path around Ambushing. So likely heavy stealth skills, perception forward and using his words as traps too. Jake will likely get along really well with them! The line about “perceiving me even though I did not wish it” makes me think there’s a good amount of spacial magic alongside the concepts of being perceived. Jake could take inspiration to improve unseen hunter even further!

So it's clear the snake isn't bless because jake would sense that. But also villy did something to get the snake there. I'm kinda sad that *something* didn't result in the meditation chamber covered in mushrooms. "I have it on good authority that mushrooms help the chosen recover faster"

Snek boi may be peaved he's not only not the strongest being anymore, but also incredibly far from even being the strongest tubular reptilian. Also saw a comment on a prior chapter about using Jake juice to help the serpent become a special variant, and that would be an amazing way to make up for his rescue

TL;Dr= Jake FAFO'd in the wrong place and is learning that he still sucks at diplomacy. He went back because Jake is a man of his word. Quite literally, it's part of his Path. He said he'd be back after finding out if he could help anyone leave the boundary. He was also trying to show them that he had no intention of screwing them over. Unfortunately for Jake he has gotten way too used to being treated like a Chosen, and he was in the literal one place in the multiverse where his title meant absolutely nothing to the natives. Yeah, they kinda realized he's definitely stronger than someone of his same level or possibly a genius, but to them he's "just" a B-grade.

Zog you just confirmed so many of my predictions/assumptions and answered quite a few questions I had. The only few remaining are "What did Villy do? Will/is a blessing involved? What is the plan moving forward?" and finally "what overpowered xp or skill is Jake about to get?"

Thanks for the chapter Zog! I'm really loving the change of pace. It's been a while since we've seen Jake so thoroughly out of his depth. Can't wait to see how this is gonna impact the System Event, since he's learning diplomacy here. Hopefully that helps him learn to be better and more cautious. I'm pretty sure the Exhaulted Prima Event is definitively more diplomatic as apposed to combative, if the first interaction with it is anything to go off of.

Yeah I saw that too. IMO I do not think it is possible due to the significant difference in power between Jake and this peak A-Grade. His primal origin skill is super overpowered, but I believe it is still limited to what he can do as a B-Grade. Not saying it wouldn't help the Serpent evolve, but that it might only be an insignificant drop in the bucket of what would be required to make it a variant. He had a lot of issues when he did it before for creatures that are his grade.

It goes back to Jake being able to detect Eversmile at Nevermore even though no one else could, not even other Primordials. Perception is the best stat after all. The ambushing skill of the serpent does make sense because in general snakes are ambush predators. However, I think it would be quite difficult to ambush something when you are the length of an entire planet, but it did say he could shrink down to only a measly 50 meters (sarcasm). So he went from world size to the size of a blue whale or wing span of a Boeing 787.

I still do not think that Jake could do much to influence the peak A-Grade. The difference in power is just too great. Even if Jake gave everything he had it would pale in comparison to what would be required to help. Grade evolutions are exponential.

The best guess I have seen are that Villy sent the snake a dream or vison of what was to come if Jake was killed. The snake wouldn't understand who Villy was, what the multiverse is, or what being a Chosen means. To the snake it would be nonsensical because it just wouldn't fit with what the snake knows or experienced. It would just seem over-the-top to suddenly be given information that said that he isn't even close to being all-powerful, and that even though Jake is a new B-Grade he is one of the most important beings in the multiverse and his death or harm would mean their end and they would not be able to do a damn thing about it.

I think it is going to be a mixed bag of several elements. All the things that would be required of someone to be the leader of an entire universe/government/kingdom. Logistics, laws, war, diplomacy, punishment and well-being of subordinates.

So Villy did shenanigans with his records in all snakes to 'nudge' the big guy over to the boundary. The big snake complies but obviously questions what exactly that nudge was. When he arrives at the boundary he senses Villy's power in Jake and is prolly just as in the dark as Jake with this whole thing. I imagine Jake will end up blessing the big guy but maybe he turns it down for some reason? The other A Grades were not happy with the idea of being subservient in the multiverse, so maybe its not different for the Snake. Either way, tomorrow's cliff hanger is gonna suck major balls...

Also, it would be a great basis for him to give the idea of having one of those du geon floors in Nevermoor be a minor world with the same premise of not knowing about anything higher. We kind of got that with the dragon trying to reach Godhood but its taken to the extreme here in Venus and ended up almost being worst case scenario. It would be interesting to see how minaga/wyrmgod would play off this... exerience.
