To be a little charitable to ERB, I think the “Hitler vs Vader” matchup made a little more sense in the context of 2010, when Hitler and nazism at large was understood as a kind of “generic” evil with little to no political content. This was pre-Alt-Right era; no one thought ANYONE but skinhead assholes would identify with Nazism. Hitler was cartoonishly evil in the popular imagination, not conceivably human. That’s why putting him against a fictional character like Darth Vader made a little more sense back then

The best thing ever was when someone on reddit circa 2010 finally got sick of the stupid Chuck Norris jokes—on his birthday—and mentioned he is an asshole. Then everyone made anti-CN jokes the whole thread, my favorite of which is Chuck Norris installs DRM rootkits on the laptops of sick children by binary alchemist.

Yeah everything y’all say is correct about these being toothless and corny but I was born in ‘03 & watched these from the time I was 9 years old until I was like 13 and still find some of them pretty catchy and get them stuck in my head. That being said, it’s insane to me that they’re still making these

Subscribed for this episode. ERB was a huge and shamefully formative part of my formative years, and though I've grown out of it - bundling it in a fasces with How It Should Have Ended and CinemaSins to leave in the past - I've never put it under the microscope before. Thanks for the work guys
