Another WS banger

Sean Enright

“Well if you want to be catty…” 🤣🤣 that is quick as hell

Marshall Steinbaum

Stupendous episode. This might be the first time I’ve ever laughed uproariously at a professional comedian. Out walking the dog and my neighbors were like “what’s so funny?”

Chris Tolworthy

The app just lost my very long reply. :( Short version: I was about to cancel my Patron sub but this episode was a very unexpected delight. Thank you. This is still the best podcast out there.

Chris Tolworthy

The ending made me genuinely laugh, and I seldom laugh. OK in hindsight it was the most predictable ending ever but that's what made it so funny that I didn't see it coming. Still smiling.

Brian Steblay

Fantastic episode Will.

Nicholas Giraldo

Great episode! Had no idea Jack Benny and Fred Allen had a faux feud, so it was a real treat to hear them roast each other.

Luke

Great episode.

Ending had me sad for the loss of a man (and his friendships who I hadn't even heard of 40 minutes earlier.) Phenomenal work, Mr. Sloan!

Tom

Great episode, Will. Have you listened to much early radio comedy from the UK? I highly recommend Hancock's Half Hour if you haven't already listened to it.

Paul Brewer

Fred Allen’s near contemporary would be ITMA (for It’s That Man Again). The BBC didn’t really do comedy during its earliest decades, so there aren’t many options until the 1950s which is the Classic Era of British radio comedy
