Respectfully, you two misunderstood the theology of Dogma. Cardinal Glick being able to create the doorway which fixes sins and contradicts God is the whole point of the movie. It doesn't make sense that human beings should be able to speak for someone as all powerful as Alanis Morisette. God can't stop the madness because he incarnated and is trapped in a comatose body, and compassionate end of life care ends up saving the universe, another swipe at Kevin Smith's problems with theology. I am not saying the movie is good, but from a theological standpoint, everything makes sense. In fact, Chris Rocks monologs about Jesus having ideas and ideas being powerful but rules being destructive is, perhaps, the most coherent theme Smith has ever put into a film. Love the show, first time, long time, I'll hang up to hear my answer.

Will Sloan: Let's watch Dogma! Luke Savage: Let's watch EDtv! Superdelegates: Take a load off, boys—here's a good movie!

If I had to give this movie credit for anything, it's that the design of Your Buddy Christ still cracks me up even if all the other attempts at humor fall flat. It's tacky in such a specifically American way. It also doesn't feel that far off from the real-life conservative Christian kitsch it's making fun of. I'm reminded of those megachurchs that played AI videos of Charlie Kirk in heaven alongside Jesus and JFK.

The hoodies were deliberate allusions to angels.

“Don’t worry, there’s a parking lot somewhere nearby.” Killed me. Hilarious!

Came here to remind folks of the existence of the parody song “What If God Smoked Cannabis?,” often wrongly attributed to Weird Al on torrenting sites throughout the early 2000’s, which really captures the zeitgeist this film is tapping into.

Michael and Us nation demands a full trek through the Viewaskew universe with the original Clerks being either last or never being watched at all.

The nine main characters thing makes me wonder if these people heard Kevin Smith was making a new movie and said ‘Hullo, I want in.’ And Smith couldn’t say no. I hadn’t seen this one yet and now I probably never will.
