Is there a full reaction to this movie? It's not coming up in the search...

Bill Bevins

Ashleigh, you cracked me up with the "Dick" Gere. Garry Marshall was the older brother of Penny Marshall. He produced TV shows Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and Mork and Mindy. Carol Channing was a famous Broadway star most famous for Hello Dolly. The "Lucy" episode they were watching was a classic. The Italian lady couldn't speak English and when she and Lucy started going at it, she was taking it seriously and really started beating up Lucy. Her hair got stained by all the grape juice and they were worried it wouldn't come out.

Bill Bevins

Ashleigh, actor Mike Henry passed away yesterday. He is best known for playing Junior in the Smokey and the Bandit movies. That movie would fit in with rom-com month. A lot of stars have passed so far this year. Might want to consider a memorial month to pay tribute to some actors that have recently passed. Along with Smokey and the Bandit you could consider tributes to Cloris Leachman (High Anxiety), Christopher Plummer (Sound of Music) and Cicely Tyson (Sounder). Just a suggestion.

Two Cents Magoo

Hubben has serious sass game and I am here for it.

Bill Bevins

Most famous straight man is Bud Abbott of Abbott & Costello. Harvey Korman (Hedley Lamarr in Blazing Saddles) attempted to be the straight man to Tim Conway in many sketches on the Carol Burnett Show. I say attempted because so many times he couldn't keep a straight face, no matter how hard he tried.I suggest you watch The Dentist or Tim's Elephant Story from that show. Would make a good "Try not to laugh" challenge for Ashleigh.

Julia Roberts must sees: Sleeping with the Enemy '91, My Best Friend's Wedding '97, Notting Hill '99 , Runaway Bride '99

ROG

Good reaction Ashleigh... i agree with you. Not a great movie imo. I think 4 stars is way too generous. I'd give it 2.5 stars

ingibingi2000

The jerk store called they're running out of you

Andrea

Fun reaction, love seeing the interaction between you and Hubben throughout lol. Also agreed this movie while good is not one of my favorites, it can drag a bit. Fun fact this story derives from classics like Pygmalion and/or My Fair Lady so a lot of the plot is parallel to parts from those stories - like in My Fair Lady the main character a lady from the streets is cleaned up and introduced to high society to see if she can pass for a “lady” and one of the places she is introduced to is a horse race, here it’s the polo match. So I can see where they were going with these scenes but it does make the plot drag at places. Again love the reactions can’t wait to see what’s next! 💕✌️

Bleedingreen

imo, if she was to do a Cloris Leachman movie probably would be better to do The Last Picture Show or something else because if shes only seen one Hitchcock movie (Psycho) she isnt gonna get all the jokes in High Anxiety

Be Kind

My Best Friend’s Wedding — “I’m the bad guy.” 😣 Dermot Mulroney being dreamy and an early intro to Cameron Diaz who’s in There’s Something About Mary. It’s pretty good.

Bill Bevins

That's true. I kept making the suggestion she watch the original Frankenstein movies before watching Young Frankenstein but she still seemed to enjoy it. I mentioned High Anxiety because it was the first one I thought of and Cloris's performance in that movie is hilarious. Maybe Ashleigh could do a poll.

C. A.

Beans is her stage name.

awkwardashleigh

I hope once I go full time I will be able to pay tribute on a moment's notice when someone passes away. Just can't do that right now though.

Mark Sylvester

Pretty Woman was inspired by the Musical "My Fair Lady". I believe there is a long polo scene in the musical if I remember right and I think that is the only reason for the scene in this movie Ashleigh.

Gio Vidrio

Daddy gonna go get a chicken quesadilla! I’m hungy! We’re on a diet! Oh, I meant I’m gonna go take a WALK. You guys have me rollin! 🤣🤣🤣 Excellent review. I agree Julia/Vivian 5/5. Movie in itself a 4/5. Director Garry Marshall is known for leaving in edits that make absolutely no sense to most, but make sense to him? Whether it was intentional or not, he’s just known for that type of direction. Hope to see you guys in another reaction, maybe Ghost?! 👻 Ha! It would be fun since neither of you have seen it. Otherwise just enjoy it if Hubben can’t make it and watch with him on another day.

Be Kind

Abbott & Costello had a bit called “Who’s On First?” Might be able to find it on YT. Worth a watch; it’s hella famous. Also might give Hubben a better idea of what a “straight man” is in a comedic duo.

ingibingi2000

that guy your husband called a jerk in this movie, that actor is famous for his role in Seinfeld, "the jerk store called, they're running out of you" is a famous line, and then someone eventually responds "well you're thier all time best seller"

question for your Hubbin does he find Hooker worse than Whore. word choice is everything. Your Hubbin only looks similar to Bob Hope Hope had a very odd destictive nose not one I'd want. Your Hubbin has a good nose shape. I thought it funny he mentioned your lack of filter. that is one of the most entertaining parts of your show. Other than your natural humor. Personally I love your intro Hi, hello ... Also its never a problem to like Lucy When my boys were young wee bought a DVD set of I love Lucy. which they watched constantly. I think they can still recite dialogue. Lucy and Ricky(Desi) revolutionized television in the early 50's the sitcom would not exist without them. thanks for another great video.

Going to the Polo match, the opera, etc. — that’s called “Production Values”. Means you have a higher budget that allows established shots of different places, which gives the film scope. (Feels like a bigger movie that ppl want to pay money to go see.)

Bill Bevins

They performed it many times and always did it different. The best version was from "Naughty 90s." Their bit of 7 x 13= 28 is also a classic.

Bill Bevins

Just a suggestion. Whatever you decide to do with your channel is great with me.

Bill Bevins

One of the more humorous names is sports. That one made me laugh. Another funny sports name is former Mighty Ducks goalie Ron Tugnutt.

Alexander Fish

Garry Marshall was Penny Marshall's brother as well as the creator of Happy Days. Laverne & Shirley, and Mork & Mindy.

MrBamaRed

When you gone ("gawn" in my southern accent) spill the tea on Beans government name? That was great! I would also agree with the Bob Hope comment, I can see it. I literally LOL'd at the Yelp review and the no filter comment. I think that it was makes your reactions so great. Don't sugar coat it or PC it, just say it. Loved it!

Alexander Fish

Speaking of Christopher Plummer, Hanover Street is a good romance/suspense movie set during WWII. Oh, yeah....it has HARRISON FORD, too.

Tony Hart

So you have an issue with the pacing of the movie. Basically it has a slow tempo for it's runtime.

Be Kind

Whenever a movie is super-successful, they want to pair that duo up again in hopes of recreating the same magic and success. Same w/Meg Ryan & Tom Hanks, Kevin Hart & Dwayne Johnson, Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor ...

Be Kind

Hubben: Like a Rumba. Ashleigh: Because they suck? 🤭 No, she dit-int. 😲

Tony Hart

You guys should watch Black Dynamite together!

Alexander Fish

Kit is Laura SanGiacomo who graduated from my high school with my older brother.

Be Kind

You already told us her real name, but I’ll keep it to myself if no one remembers. 🤫 Besides, “Beans” fits her better. 😉

Alexander Fish

Wait...Hocus Pocus has a plot???

Alexander Fish

For straight men, look up Bud Abbott and Oliver Hardy.

Be Kind

I believe the pacing is just a 90’s thing. Glad you saw it once. It’s what officially launched Julia Roberts into the stratosphere, and that shopping scene, “BIG mistake!”, was parodied and referenced a lot — those are the movies you wanted to see. Don’t worry ... we haven’t even gotten to the really great films yet, like THE FIRM, SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, THE GREEN MILE, JURASSIC PARK, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, SILENCE OF THE LAMBS ... the kind that will blow you away.

Bleedingreen

Beans isnt her real name. my life is a lie.

C. A.

Yeah, Blake spilled the beans (see what I did there) after they watched Home Alone.

Thomas Ivie

Insert "glug glug 9000" in a famous movie quote. Preferably one Ashleigh has seen. I'll go first... Help me, Glug Glug 9000. You’re my only hope.” — Princess Leia Organa

Be Kind

We love Hubben! He’s wonderful and seems like a perfect fit w/you. I’m looking forward to your TITANIC reaction together, esp w/him being a history buff about it. Can’t wait!

Terri Vineyard

Miss Ashleigh, I always have that exact same reaction to Julia Roberts in the red opera dress. Growing up, my mom instilled in me that redheads can't wear red or pink. And then I watched Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink and Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman and thought, "How brave!"

Daniel Sitar

Give me that look.... oh stop giving me that look! lol.

Michael Johnson

Loved this review as always. I've not seen this film in years but I know it well. I've said it before but I'll keep saying it, you're amazing. You're likeable and that's why I think people enjoy your reviews so much.

primatador

"Give me that look...oh, stop giving me that look!" I think that was my favorite line!

Nessa Arandur

I hope you plan on watching Dirty Dancing this month.

Lynnetta

This was fun!!

Paul Johnson

Richard Gere was married to Cindy Crawford for a time don't believe he and Julia R. were ever an item IRL...The hotel manager was played by the great character actor Hector Elizondo who played a great part in the 1974 suspense/crime flick "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three" which I have previously requested please keep it in mind...and yeah definitely see the Bob Hope resemblance! :)

Kate Cassidy

Ashleigh, if you know Hector Elizondo, I bet it’s from the Princess Diaries. 👑 He’s the limo driver.

Maria Yarber

Watching you explain to Hubben what a straight man was...hilarious. I knew immediately what he was thinking but I was like, "Yes! He's the Abbott to her Costello!" (Comedy duo from the 40s/50s. Check out their "Who's on First" routine. It's a very famous bit they did)

Bill Bevins

I saw The Taking Of Pelham One Two Three in the theater when it first came out. Most suspenseful, edge of your seat, movie i had ever seen up to that point. Great performances from Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw (Quint in Jaws).

WEEZER MANN

Your Hubbins looks like a young Jack Nicholson.

WEEZER MANN

Ash you are cute as a button!!!!!

WEEZER MANN

...and Beans, well you make me want to give you a squishy huggings..

WEEZER MANN

ASHLEIGH WILL YOU BEANS MY VALENTINE'S? HE HE HE!!!!!

Nick

Every time you comment about how pretty Julia Roberts is, Hubben is supposed to tell you that you're much prettier. That's his primary husbandly duty.

Dawlface Jesi

Girl, your hubben has HELLA jaw bones. Like, that is a f***in square jaw.
